Great visuals, great song, God bless all our brave Royals, past, present and future, For our Brave Fallen Heroes, Gone but NEVER Forgotten, RIP HEROES ♥ Forever Young ♥ Ultimate Respect for each and every one of you, always xx
A very inspirational video, many thanks. The Royal Marines are hard as nails. I was lucky to meet one, he was a pretty nice and cheerful guy, and very humble. His stories of his experience in different parts of the world were fascinating.
+Jrtvls they aren't really based anywhere before I moved, the 412th royal marine cadets I attended where and still are based in the city of Norwich so it just depend's on where you live really
As with the American Revolution, the American military won, no matter how you paint it. I am, or was, thanks to battlefield injuries, an American Marine, of Scottish birth (Newburgh, Coast o Fife!!). I have a love of the BRMC in general and am very proud that they are allies of ours. No, I would NOT want to face one of these lads in combat, neither would I turn pooftah and run. Their training is some of the most brutal there is, and my hats off to any who can "pack the gear" . Semper Fi.
i'm joining the rmr, i tried for the regulars but broke my leg on the 30miler and couldn't finish, so now i got my prmrc in march! now it's just hurry up and wait
@nitrogas85 Its not for everyone, I met someone in the Kuwait desert (first war) who had "failed " entry, best laugh was that he was now in the Legion.
@lostlaces just go for it if you join army you will regret not joining the marines when your older but you can always do 4 years in army then join marines
RM earn theirs through 32 weeks of hard training. Only at the end of the 32 weeks do they get the green beret. The wear a black one until then Other units in the BA are just given them at the start of basic.
They are in some quarters affectionately known as the ' Soldiers of the sea '...now get your hand in your pocket and get a nice signed CD lol Cheers Gary
@MrFootballman12 I think if you compare the training program of both marine units, the USMC while a distinguished unit, simply do not put their recruits through the same physical rigour as the Royal Marines. USMC - 12 weeks training. Royal Marine - 30 weeks!
The life of a guerrilla would be tougher. We march across rugged terrain at night without the use of both flashlights and NV googles, especially when there is a storm and you can't see shit. We cross flooded rivers and creeks without the use of ropes. Our rifles doesn't have scopes but we were good marksmen. We are disciplined and we have years of experience. Our basic training only lasts a month but this is supplemented with more specialized training and just living the hard life of a guerrilla is a great training in itself. We learned to camouflage with what is available, we learned to forage for food, build shelter, we learned tracking and counter-tracking, bushcraft skills and good fieldcraft. We are special forces in our own way and we made sure that those government forces we encountered will leave the field in panicky retreat and either dead or injured. We only do tactical retreats so we can carry out tactical counter-offensives of our own. We are aggresive, we are the little sneaky bastards who gave nightmares to our enemies. We are so sneaky and creepy that even an alert guard dog failed to notice us. We are like the demons of the darkness preying on any enemy who want to engage us.
Great video and the songs not bad. My version had over 15,000 before YT terminated my account this week so you've got a start on me this time lol. Only bootleg I know of to this song. Quite a few to 'This is England'....Cheers Gary
the rifles wear a different grenn to commandos, but most people who join 1 rifles do the commando course because 1 rifles support the commandos so they can wear it (not sure if your question has already been answered but i hope this helped)
"Marine Marine in a boat living proof that shit can float", that is what the Para's say to the Marines but in my opinion they are both just as good as each other haha, 2 of the best military unit's in the world in my opinion outside the special forces of course :D
@MrVulcan1963 true but the usmc it the best shooters on the planets excluding the snipers. they have one of the best hand to hand combat training on the planet. they are one of the most ancient fighting style's on earth. not to disrespect your nation i think when it comes down to if the marines will win in a combat zone
@MrFootballman12 The USMC is unique insofar that they instill all who join with good marksmanship skills compared to other branches of the armed services. "Every marine is a rifleman," if I have it right. It's very important to be able to shoot straight! Regardless, we're all on the same side, and both units have fought with distinction kicking Taliban arse. :)
@stubbostubbs Knob head, Listen, No female has ever passed the 32 weeks training, because they arent allowed to take part as it's too hard for them. However Hannah Schnell did serve for a couple of years in the early 19th century. Oh, and as for the para's, not bad but not up to our standard, never will be.
I do not hate you my friend, I'm white, and I'm actually thinking of becoming a sikh! Thanks for defending the country mate.... watch the documentary from slough to soldier, it talks to different sikhs about joining the paras! We are a multicultural nation bro, and I for one am proud of it, if you want to be a soldier saint, I'm sure you shall, Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, waheguru ji ki Fateh!!! :)
Well done, mate. My cousin wanted in the Marines, but just missed out by 2 points on his written stuff. Gym matters, but it's what's in your mind that counts. :) I've had my father, and at least 30 generations before him, all serve the Country. :) I plan on joining 1 Rifles, so I can get the Green Beret aswell. God speed, mate. :)
@lostlaces Go for Marines because if it's playing on your mind your obviously want it. If it don't work out for you and is not what you expected theres no shame in admitting so but at least you would have given it your best shot. Just make sure you give it a decent shot and not wrap on something silly
@nitrogas85 actually im not british!!but i know royal marines and paras are the best in nato!!a man to be a royal marine or sth like that!!my opinion is what background has, for example to work from a very young age,a hard job.you know kalymnos?is a small island in greece close to turkey!there many seals there!grandpa, son and grandson!!greek seals version!!u know what i mean?1 out 10 make to seal!!its very hard training!!and its one of the best in nato!!
Well ive decided to join for the regulars and do a bit with them (3 years) then try for the marines to get best fitness and displin levels. But good luck anyway
@xWAKEMAN94x I never realised that 'Per mare per terram' was the marines motto, i've been contemplating joining and coincidentally my surnames' (Macdonald) motto is Per mar per tarres which translates as the same meaning, maybe this is a sign haha. Anyway, best of luck mate.
i want to be a Royal marine Ive been going to the Gym since i was 15 to be ready, only another shitty school year left then i can join the forces like my father and his farther before him.
@winters152 did you pass your pjft? you must have some contacts at your afco if you're looking at getting a prmc just after christmas, really you'd be looking at july time by then mate unless you get a cancellation date, good luck in your application anyways

A very inspirational video, many thanks. The Royal Marines are hard as nails. I was lucky to meet one, he was a pretty nice and cheerful guy, and very humble. His stories of his experience in different parts of the world were fascinating.

I don’t know who is more stupid. You for writing it, or me for reading such shit!

Yes, if they have done the All Arms Commando, like the Royal Marines. :)

@nitrogas85 Did you find the mercian training a doddle after going through royal marine training?
I don't want to be a Marine, I want to be a Royal Marine.
@MultiAirGunner Yes, all links at Anglo Sxaon website. The link is in video description.
