Bought a Tiguan Match last week. They originally suggested a life and I made the point about it only being a couple hundred more for the match, I want that! Just so happened there was a stock one that rolled off the transporter an hour or so after I left. Pick it up early next week!
Exciting! It’s strange that they suggested a Life… you did the right thing getting a Match model! What colour have you gone for? Thanks for watching enjoy 😊
Well done Sam great review as always 👍🏻👍🏻 looks good the new Tiguan 😊 Your self parking oooh gave me a laugh too - best thing when something impressive happens on a new car which you don’t expect 😁 Shout out to VW and Lancaster Volkswagen for their support too - it’s great to see them supporting the channel ❤
Good to see you touching on all trim levels. I test drove the Elegance trim. Very comfortable. Seats are amazing. Prefer the look of the R Line. Good to hear that you thought the R line wasnt too firm on the 20" alloys.
I ordered the Tiguan Elegance back in January, due to be built week 10. Still waiting to hear when it will be delivered. VW say it has been built but is awaiting a part at the factory, so no idea when it will turn up?
Lovely! I know once cars are built it usually takes 2-5 weeks to get to the UK from Germany and be prepared, however as you say it is waiting for a part. It’s in the right place to be waiting for a part, keep me updated! Thanks for watching 😄
Hi not as such, when you do brake it does charge the 48V Mild Hybrid battery, but the car doesn’t have a “B” mode as such with 1 pedal driving abilities.
Initially I thought, ‘Where did this young boy come from?’. However, how wrong I was. What a great, informed and helpful review. I have just ordered an Elegance and so appreciate your knowledge and insights. Great job.
Does it still offer that neat USB-C port in the rear view mirror for easy install of a dashcam? On the negative side I hate seats with integrated headrests. Its so odd to me on a family SUV (even a sporty one). I do agree about the infotainment size. The 12.9" is more than big enough. So I'm happy VW gives us that option. In addition, I'm still seeing that horrible piano black on the console of some models. All the wheels look boring, even on the R-Line. I'd happily sacrifice some of the aero for a set of more aggressive five spoke wheels. Like those on the concepts. The interior is still a sea of gray, but I have seen others with more interesting and lighter contrasting colors. Maybe next year we'll get an earth tone. About the only thing that's missing is a power adjustable steering wheel. Wish it offered that option. Totally disagree with the gear selector though. Having all that clean center console space is far better than cluttered with a gear selector. You only engage with it once anyway.
Enjoyed your review. I quite like the look of this Tiguan. I thought the previous model was a bit too angular. In terms of looks I still prefer the Kia Sorento or the 2024 Skoda Kodiaq. If I can offer a little constructive criticism, you are allowed to pause between sentences 👍
Thanks! Yes I really like the new design, it’s all personal preference I do like the Kodiaq and the Sorento too though. And thank you, I will keep that in mind!
Are still using the EA888 with the cast iron block for 2 litre? would have been better if they went with an all new engine being mildly hybrid. VW falling behind the competition IMO.
Vw robbing there customers well overpriced cars, am waiting on BYD SEAL U. That looks more classier and will cost much less. We need more brands cars in this country. Good for customer and competions.
The new Tiguan is quite close in price to most competitors, I checked out the BYD Seal U at the Geneva Motor Show earlier in the year, it is a really nice looking car. The Seal U is expected to start at over £40,000 though so it costs more than the Tiguan, the plug in Tiguan is a similar price to what the U is expected to be. Thanks for watching!
Hi, I was meaning the smoothness of the engine and should’ve clarified it is/feels more powerful than most naturally aspirated 2.0 engines. A 2.0 TSI is a stark difference yes!
Great review ! I bought one in Elegance, deep black pearl color, 2.0 TDI. Love it !
Thanks, it’s a lovely car!

Nice review. Liked you included the other model options
Thank you!

Great road test, very knowledgable! Good lively personality!
That’s a lovely compliment, thanks so much!
Hi there, can I ask are the seats and seat adjustability the same on the match and elegance trim the same?
Good to see you touching on all trim levels. I test drove the Elegance trim. Very comfortable. Seats are amazing. Prefer the look of the R Line. Good to hear that you thought the R line wasnt too firm on the 20" alloys.
Thank you, yes the seats are excellent especially in the Elegance model! That’s right the ride was surprisingly smooth on the 20s too 😄
Nice video . Approximately , how many kilometers with a full tank ? Thanks

Super thorough review. Very helpful. Thank you.
Thank you, I’m glad to hear it 😄
Does this mild-hybrid model have regenerative braking?

Thank you! Yes I do look young, but I know my stuff 👍🏻 I’m sure you’ll love your new Tiguan Elegance.
Thanks again for sharing

Will you be reviewing the 2024 Kodiaq and Sorento?
Quick fact check would have helped, electric tailgate is not standard on Match and above, certainly not standard on R line
Great job! Bravo! 👏
That’s great to hear, thanks!
Good job.
ID front, Ford Edge rear. Very mainstream. It figures
Thanks Steve, I sort of see what you mean, it definitely has more of an ID vibe to it!
Great review 👏🏿👏🏿
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it 😄
i liked the wheels explination a lot
Thanks!

The cast iron block is actually great. Make it aluminium and now you have to add all the weight back in to dampen and counter vibrations
Alloys?
Yes I explain the alloy wheels options from 4:41
Just ordered one
How long do you have to wait ?
Lovely! What trim and colour did you go for?
We have had one for the last two years

No where near a 2 litre. the performance is a stark diff
