I feel like back then when she was lizzy she was less stressed and would sing more confident because she had a small audience and little pressure. So she was more...herself. Only now on her last album I can feel those lizzy vibes. She's happy with who she is now.
All those lucky people who get to see her sing in clubs and night bars every night without them realizing that the blonde little girl they were listening to would somehow become a famous woman who's performed and played in large stages and amphitheaters for thousands of people. I wanna cry, the simplicity she had when she was Lizzy Grant was extremely precious.
I don't understand how people can say that Lana cannot sing or that she was ugly and she had several surgery jobs done. She sounds like an angel here, maybe now she is just a little bit stressed when she has to sing. She looks super pretty here, back in 2008. Ok I'm pretty sure she had a nose job (so what?) but she looks more beautiful now because of the make up, styling and because she is more mature. Love you Lana!
rs She definitely got a nose job you can see the difference in some of her old pictures by Chuck that are profile shots. She also gets fillers between her eyebrows and more recently cheek fillers.
im suprised she didnt get more fame when she used her natural high voice cus she hits high notes like no other and ever since she started using a deeper voice she doesnt really do it like she used to
my guess is that her label wanted a more sultry voice to fit her image.. unfortunately forcing yourself out of your vocal range is pretty terrible in the long run.
I actually heard that she wanted to sound different then what was out so she made herself sing lower (common for an artist to want to sound different if they are trying to get signed)
Her mood changes after that guy goes "woo" lol and later looks over to see who it was. Maybe her lover she sings about. She even makes signs to that person. This made me love this so much more
I think it's just reciprocity in the moment from getting a bit of validation from the crowd. Those new York people are extremely pretentious and never give up any emotion so when one person actually says anything it's notable
I don't know WTF is happening with the people in the comments " I prefer Lizzy" or "I prefer Lana" God Damit ! It's The same fucking person ! She said on a interview that is not a character that she changes when she wants ( Like David Bowie) It's just she singing with a different name. Same Voice,Same Shy Girl,Same Way i fall in love I prefer Elizabeth Woolridge Grant ❤
Obviously thinking logically isn't one of your skills either. When people say they prefer one over the other, they mean that they like her demeanor and/or persona better. Obviously you don't know her very well, because there is a clear distinction between Lana and Lizzy. Lana is dark and melancholy, Lizzy is sweet and innocent. Plus she clearly said in an interview that as Lana she sings with a low, serious tone, because as Lizzy, she'd always sing high and girly, but nobody took her seriously. Get your facts straight next time before you start shit-talking people.
I also don't get how people distinguish her personas so sharply. I hear a ton of "Lizzy" in songs like Off to the Races and and Lolita, and "Lana" in Money Hunny and Velvet Crowbar. Artist alter their personas and styles between albums pretty regularly, and why can't Lana try different things? All her songs and albums are different, some times more or less, but I enjoy them all. People can totally prefer one of other for whatever reasons they want. I am just annoyed at all the people who act like she "sold out" or isn't being her "true" self anymore, based on what music they prefer.
People need to stop acting up because of Lana's SNL performance. She has stage anxiety and she was extremely nervous - that's why she screwed up. That's it and right here you can find prove that she can sing.
R u the person who got known because Cynthia "Cucu" Lee Fontaine read your hate comment and said You look good on the picture lmao I didn't expect to see u here
While writing this I am crying a little bit, because of the contrast. Seeing her like that and seeing her during the LA tour to the moon it only shows contrast from the unknown bar star to the role model of thousands of us. Life indeed imitates art. It is insane how music can change one's life.
I don't know what I'd do without Lana's music, she is too special for me. when I hear her voice, her melodies, her beautiful and unique poetry I feel in a way that I cannot express in words, I'm still impressed by the fact that someone can clearly express how I feel through a song. I'm grateful to know Lana and exist at the same time as her, I love you Lana
Okay if she wrote this song entirely by herself, which I assume she did, I am loving it! Seriously she owns calling that man Daddy! Her voice is imperfectly perfect. I wish she would have stayed this way
gotta love the good old days... you can just never go back... big thanks to the person who video'd and uploaded this, I've watched it about a 100 times... I love this song and everything about her.
You can hear her soul - she was always shining beautifully. Then and now.✨ The visual appearance is just optional. Her voice & soul are the most important things. In love with her art forever & ever. ❤
I have nothing against 'the new version' of her - but this is a side of her, I prefer - except for when she every now and then does a great performance - then she is brilliant. Lana is talented, and she is learning how to share her talent in a way that she is comfortable with. It cannot be easy becoming so well known in such a short time, so I do not think that anyone can blame her for sometimes being quite nervous and having that showing in some of her performances. I think she is doing her best, and in my opinion - she is doing great - most of the times. She has definitively added something interesting to her music - that makes her stand out from the crowd.
even after having listened to close to if not all of her released discography and a large fraction of her unreleased tracks, i always find myself coming back to this performance of hers…
I love both of them. Lizzy and Lana. Lol I talk as if they're two people. I think though, that both of the styles of singing and looks are beautiful just a different variety. She looks like a sweet girl. I've been to see her in concert, and she sings even better in person. She still mixes those sweet, and soft high notes in there live. :)
In this case, at least there's the original studio version on the Lizzy Grant A.K.A. LDR album, which is closer to this live version than the one on Paradise. :)
I wish I could've been there, a fly on the wall! Her vocals are enchanting, so much better than the studio version. She was stunning even in the early days! No one could sing 'let me put on a show for you daddy' like Lana! This song in her voice makes me feel some kind of way.
First LDR song I ever heard, it's my funeral song. Call me a questionable youth. I think artists come and go, we will post//comment on multiple pages how much we dislike or love an artist. I would love for her to sing this live, with someone else playing guitar. She's hypnotic.
This enchanting bewitching performance over and over again. She is absolutely mesmerizing and every sense of the word she exudes glittery aura her voice so angelic he is a true Songbird I am so happy that we have her. We deserve her and she deserves us. She is extraordinary we will never have another Lana.
Can't believe this was filmed only 7 yrs ago. Looks like the 90's
exactly
my exact thought
Probably filmed on a cellphone. Maybe an iPhone 3g or something.
Why?
looks like it could be anytime, anywhere. TImeless. That's Lana's charm.
how can she look so happy and so sad
cuz she can
hannah coz she is eccedentesiast.
cuz she is gemini, i know it from myself
Right lol

Nope,LFL is nothing like lizzy
flower of peace totally
oh honey i saw her live yesterday and she was as confident and hot as it gets
@@raycen477 if anything, NFR is where we see more of Lana's laid back Lizzy vibes

True.
Honeymoon and Norman Fucking Rockwell are the most Lizzy-like albums. Masterpieces.

Laura Meirelles She has always been beautiful,amazing...
Laura Meirelles Lizzy looks like a purest and innocent version of Lana! Love her!!!
i can't see that nose job D:
she never got a nose job. she only got lip injections! :) (i know im four years late lmao)
rs She definitely got a nose job you can see the difference in some of her old pictures by Chuck that are profile shots. She also gets fillers between her eyebrows and more recently cheek fillers.
oh my gosh...now she's playing sold out arenas. I love you Lizzy Grant!
im suprised she didnt get more fame when she used her natural high voice cus she hits high notes like no other and ever since she started using a deeper voice she doesnt really do it like she used to
Voices deepen with age
Armand9x She admitted that she forced herself to sing lower.
maybe because there are many female singers with high voices, but not so many with deep voices like she can do. Idk I just like her voice, always
my guess is that her label wanted a more sultry voice to fit her image.. unfortunately forcing yourself out of your vocal range is pretty terrible in the long run.

@@respawniconI’m from New York and I can say that this is accurate.
This is honestly much better than her studio version
Jonathan Daniel yes, i agree with you
Absolutely agree!! Her vocals are pure gold, love how she experiments in every live performance!
I think...
no,i just love the studio version🤷🏻♀️
i love both! studio is perfect and polished, live gives emotions that have no possibility of getting into the studio
Def best version.
this video is so strange...
looks like recorded in 90s
