Awesome! And as far as I'm aware of, this is the only video where the tree of life is laced in this fashion, that is, without using hoops. 😁 Also, now that we are sharing knowledge: the tree of life, aka Yggdrasil, has three (3) main roots. These can divide off to the remaining holes of the drum skin. I'm going to build my first drum this weekend and I'm going to try to make the tree myself. Thank you so much for your video! Kindest regards from the Netherlands.
@@holliehopethe handle is still not 100% dry but her voice allready impressive, if I may say so myself. 😁 Still a work in progress but it gives a good impression of the end result so thanks again for your video! ruclips.net/user/shorts1VUJy1Jp1LE?si=CR6702e7-f87HwlV
There is a fold method as well, for placing holes. Fold it, holes on the fold egde, match up those holes, hole the fold edge, match up the two sets of holes, hole the edge, repeat that pattern until 16 are done. I only use a single hole now as the dual holes can tend to tear into each other on the thinner hides, thick hide its no problem... Thanks for the tree of life tips!
I offer local ethically sourced drum kits if you feel called. It is important to honor the sacredness of the animal before and after life for the drum's rebirth.
Hi Hollie,
Great video, thank you for sharing! It would be super helpful to know how long your lacing should be for the drum without running out.
Thanks. This looks beautiful. I'm researching how I want to tie my first drum.
Thank you. Very informative.

True, many ways to punch the holes, as long as one is careful to not allow the slipping of the hide.
Hollie where do you buy all materials?

That is gorgeous I've always wanted to make a tree of life drum. How many holes did you put in total ? How long is the sinew?
