What an interview. I've worked with CEOs of major firms & I can honestly say I've never heard any speak as sincerely & openly as Hilferty. The Flyers are so fortunate to have a leader like him that engages with the fans & players regularly, leads the business side, & let's the hockey experts deal with the hockey, but cares like a true fan. 👏

I have a great deal of respect and faith....in Danny B and Jones at the helm. I think they are doing it the right way. They are being patient and building from the draft on up. They aren't throwing money around on names and contracts. It feels like that Flyers spirit for the 70s is coming back. You play for the logo on the front of the sweater and not the name on the back of it! And never....ever...let that sweater hit the floor. Man...that seems like such a hard thing to accomplish today too....with the way society is going. These young players, even though they are hockey players...the toughest and my humble of the big 4 pro sports...they are still kids growing up in this social media, screens and mass epidemic of narcissism era! Gotta be hard to get them from.... Wheel, Snipe, Celly.....to FERDA!!! Gotta get this room to be the Broad Street Bullies in spirit. Version 2.0! Like the guys that wore black arm bands at practice when Rexy's....their favorite bar....burned down....lol! Like US Marines where you ain't fighting for just God and County but...for the man on your left and on your right. Never want to let them down or disappoint them! I think it's heading that way. Torts....my kinda couch too. Old school. No holding back. Do what it takes to get everything you can outta players, without "Babcocking" them! Again, kinda like the Marines. Tear and down and rebuild them into a player that maximizes their game and talents. If you gotts bench Coots...fine. if it works...lol.. This league has changed so much. Not always for the better! Bettman is a name not sllowed to be spoken in my home! Danny, Jones and Torts....right guys and the right time. Its just so nice to be able to look forward to the future of ny Flyers again. To be hopefull! Its been a long time ...man. A long time.
I'd rather hear about how the abysmal power play is going to be fixed ( dead last for 3 years), instead of how great the voorhees facility is shaping up to be. Guess I have the wrong prioirties. 🤷♂🤷♂🤷♂
