I've got a Citizen WR100 chronograph in my collection just because it was a gift, the only reasons it's in the collection are sentimental but 40 years later it doesn't miss a beat and the chronos still work👌🏻
I was on board until I saw the price. If I wanted a watch with an integrated bracelet I'd go with the Christopher Ward the 12 or a Tissot PRX for that matter. If I also needed a GMT I would get the Frederique Constant Highlife Worldtimer for $1500 more.
@@UnburdenedByWhatHasBeen gotcha. But to compare it to the C63, Citizen has a true GMT and a rotating Bezel. You can get it for around 1g in the US. That NJIT shirt is such a deep cut! I have a distinct memory from my childhood of when they finally snapped on of the longest losing streaks in College Basketball
Great review on this new Citizen GMT. I bought the Autumn Gold version a couple months ago very pleased with it. Overall quality is excellent, thanks for demonstrating how to set a true GMT. The only quirky thing is the clasp design looks a little cheap.
Nice movement, but ugly dial, bracelet, and clasp. It being a 1/4 of the price of the (overly thick) Tudor doesn't make either purchase worthwhile. Thanks for the video, Jody.
@@lkdenve I have a 200€ citizen that blew me away and is close to inaudible. I’d love to add a timex with indiglo to my collection, but I’ve read they’re pretty loud, which is the thing holding me back, as indiglo would be amazing for sleeping.

Citizen are doing some great things. Good looking watch, bit thick & the texture is a bit odd and over the top. S thinner eco-drive version would be good. 30-50% off RRP only 😊. I think the Timex Q would be enough to satisfy my GMT integrated bracelet watch fetish.
Dang… my nb1050 has such a nice rotor on it and cuts off the 2-3 mm outside of the movement that looks ugly, I get this is 3mm bigger but dang the case backs a miss, good thing it’s on the back I guess!
Jody, are you aware of the Traska Venturer GMT? Miyota 9075 (regulated to -10 to +20 s/day in 4 positions), hardened steel case and (true 3 link) bracelet (1200HV vs ‘normal’ steel at 200HV), sapphire crystal with AR, deep gloss lacquered dial, BGW9, 38.5x46x11.9mm, 150m WR, and all for £579 inc. shipping. The next pre-order window opens on April 7th so please find this as a PSA to any of you fellow collectors who might not have heard of Traska or the Venturer GMT! 😁
@@michaelredding6219 Not this particular one, but generally speaking. Their under 300€ line is filled with awesome watches that beat any new Seiko in that price segment.
Didn't mean this one is affordable, meant that they have more affordable watches than Seiko for example. If Seiko made this watch it would be at least 5k like their new almost Grand Seiko models but branded with Seiko.
Looking on spec sheet: its high beat movement, and 10ish hour pr more than nh34, maybe the high price is justified. But the dimension is too thick. 😢 I think i'll skip that and look for ecodrive gmt, or citizen air gmt.
100% I don't like the bracelet ... and it'd suck to have a '1-watch collection' with an integrated bracelet -- boring + tough titties if it doesn't fit you well with the half links.
Hmm. Even as a Citizen fan, this one isn't doing much for me. I'd say the next step up from this would be within the group - Frederique Constant Highlife Worldtimer Manufacture (approx 4 times more). That really is a lot of complicated thing for the money, and the Highlife is probably one of the best integrated bracelet designs out there - also coming with leather and rubber QR strap options.
@6:07 If I had to set one of these, I'd probably fiddle around with the crown, get frustrated, look up how to set this up on phone, try again and then never touch a GMT watch again.
Saw the gold version (limited edition) from the Series 8 GMT range at a good price 2nd hand, in excellent condition, a few months ago but spent too long deciding whether I could pull it off. Long story short, I waited too long but it's still my favourite colourway out of the series. Very nice watch and I'd be tempted to keep it.
This just makes me miss my SN044-G with its tool all brushed finish. The shite movement probably won’t stop me from waiting the 10 years it’ll take for one to pop up on ebay
Gorgeous watch. But yes it's worth $650 the most, IMHO. You can get a new automatic Glycine Combat Sub (with signed crown) with a Selita automatic for under $400.
They are probably not 'Half' Links if you measure them (they rarely ever are) so manipulating them correctly with the full link gives a finer adjustment than just 'Part' Link in or out. 100% should have micro adjust too though.
At - 10 to +20, not having to hack the movement to change the time zone is not much of a benefit is it. You'll be hacking and adjusting the movement every few days anyway, an awful lot more frequently than you'll be typically adjusting the time zone. For some, despite the two-grand price, iffy accuracy, unoriginal bezel, feeble, unsigned crown, severe lack of bracelet adjustability given the weight, and very obviously misaligned bezel will be absolutely fine, *because it's not a Seiko*. If it was a Seiko, the internet would "scream". But because it's a cuddly Citizen, *oooom*.
Thanks very much for the review. I appreciate the technology in this watch, but don't like the design at all. The dial looks too busy, and GMT hand just seems to disappear. The integrated bracelet and pin/collar system don't make sense (it's supposed to be a versatile sports watch). Also, the lack of screw down crown with a Series 8 doesn't instil confidence to take it in water. Shame, as with a few refinements (removable bracelet, quick adjustment, screw down crown, clearer dial, larger GMT hand...) it could be great. The Ball Engineer III Outlier is £1000 more, but is a much better watch IMHO.
I love my new Citizen BN0241-59H tough titanium eco-drive, a completely different watch I know but I'm not seeing how this offering is around five times more expensive, ..

I’m really trying to find a Citizen that appeals to me… but I’m struggling with their design ethos. This one unfortunately doesn’t do anything for me, actually it has set me back even further, $2000+ for a watch that doesn’t seem to know what it’s doing.. “ let’s just put every popular design element of the last couple of years into one monstrosity”, textured dial, gmt, integrated bracelet, large chucky angular case.. it’s too much and the final nail for me no micro adjustments on a bracelet that you can’t change. I know the the Miyota 9 series movements are supposed to great and I really want to own one for myself but at this stage it won’t be in a Citizen.
