- I've been in denial for long enough...
My sweet RubySue has been gradually getting skinnier over the summer, and I wouldn't immediately jump to the worst conclusion... BUT, her mama and grandmama BOTH passed from what looked like Maedi Visna.
Maedi is exactly that... a gradual wasting of the animal, that only really reveals itself over a lengthy stretch of time. I guess I had hoped this wasn't going to be her story.
It's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, and I was wise enough to get my hoof trimming and lice treatment done just in time...
Because, Mark is itching to start corn harvest.

I like how that small lamb, in the market barn, waited for Sandi to work the drinker then started drinking and did not get pushed out of the way by the bigger lamb that joined her - she is small but mighty !
😢 I wish every pet we love could live as long as we do. I wish it wasn't true that the cost of love is loss. As each one passes I pray that your memories will keep you warm and new ones will come along to keep you busy.

Ruby Sue reminds me of when i worked in a nursing home. Youd spend 40hrs a week with them, so the patients became extended family. And you couldnt help loving them even though you knew how it would end😢😢. But youd start watching for signs...

IDEAS: Ask an OT & PT who specialize in back injuries & back care to either review your vlogs or better yet, come out & assess your work in person. (Just like Courtney the nutritionist). Use Wheels whenever possible. Both Carissa & you should be turning the rotational squeeze chute - 300 lb sheep are not a 1-person job. Speaking as retired nurse who herniated disk trying to shift home care patient's bed. Can't count how often I tried to convince staff to use mechanical hoist to lift patients. Love you. Hate seeing you suffer! 💕💕

How nice seeing Jess helping so must, and driving a tractor. It is never good seeing any animal eating and still losing weight, it's a sign of organ failing. Looks like your back is improving, be careful when on your own.

Pausing here to tell you happy to see a zipped black hoody, especially with logo on the back. I live in a hoody all winter long, but it has to be a zip to accommodate my cat snuggling in with me while I work. Can't wait to set my alarm for next launch. Hoody and mugs will by my prime objective.

My daughters now in their 40’s live 2 1/2 hours away and as a Mom can totally relate to the best feelings in my heart and soul when they are back in the nest even if only for a quick weekend visit. We are currently redecorating their rooms as they make their choices to be ready for holiday home visits. Hope you are able to get your health issues figured out soon. Best wishes to all from Utah

I feel your pain, and I know you have so much to do. I've had back/neck trouble all my adult life. I guess I have adapted or grown used to a lot of it, but now at my ripe age of 78 my back rules the day. So do take care of it best you can, and start finding ways to do things differently now It will help you in the future.
