  • This storm was one of the worst storms we rode out. Before the storm even started we got some scary messages from out family back home saying they had multiple big tornadoes hitting in there area! Super crazy storm. This video is how we experienced it. I pray everyone that was affected by the storms get the help they need!!! My city flooded really bad and is still super soggy!
    Love y'all!

    I know this is after the fact, but never drain your pool. You can filter the water, boil the water, etc for drinking and always use it to bathe, flush toilets or if necessary use it to put out a fire in your home or on your property. Water is gold in a hurricane situation..

    • @bevn362
      @bevn362 3 месяца назад +72

      Draining your pool can cause it to pop out of the ground due to hydrostatic pressure. The weight of the water helps keep the pool in place.
      Protect the pump. Keep your pool equipment running until the storm is close, then turn off the power at the breaker box

    Card games, board games, dice games, you can even make an easy toss game with egg carton and marbles, beans, whatever will fit in the slot. Heat water on your grill if need be for dishes, or a fire pit. Write down what you missed while power was out/services down and things you can have ready for next time. Make it like a family game to figure it all out, kids like to be involved and think of some pretty good things to have. Stay blessed!

      Florida doesn't have basements. Much of what is built there is built on what used to be marshlands (Wetlands) and therefore basements would stay flooded especially in stormy weather. The foundations of these homes would erode quickly making the house unstable and causing homeowners 10s of thousands in repairs even without hurricanes.

    Okay, so now I have managed to watch your WHOLE vlog, I have to tell you, how completely blessed you are. What a beautiful home, beautiful family and the way you worked the problems to keep them all safe is incredible! 🙏 ❤ We over here in Sweden where I live now, or even Britain where I'm originally from would not have had 18 inches of rain drop and that was BEFORE the storm made landfall. I have to wish your friends who have been disrupted by the storm or the tornados when they hit, that they are safe and that no one was harmed and the repairs can be done in the shortest time possible for them.
    Between the hours of 2am and 5:30 ...was completely gnarly. The halloween witches dancing around already, out there. But that tree close to your house didn't cause the damage that had worried about previously, that too, is a beautiful blessing. But might have to be removed in the event of another witch roof dancing hurricane like Milton. You guys made it safe, praise be! But it broke my heart to see the film of your travels to Home Depot. God help these families who have lost so much more. 🙏 ❤

    Al, having seen the size of your own lawn, and considering all the lawns you cut for needy people, you have now joined my super hero list. I am sorry your weather is being very challenging. I don't think this is the last hurricane yet, so get a new stronger tarpaulin for your tunnel and maybe a few sand bags to stop water blowing under the garage door. Stay safe

    I wanted to mention a 11 year young man from North Carolina who is trying to start his own lawn care with his father. They go around and cut grass around there city for free. I just started watching the kid today. His dad and him work well together. His dad gives him his advice in life that we all should listen to. The channel is Rake it till you make it. I wanted to share this because the kids is starting out and needs some good advice and maybe sunshine could help him get things he needs to start his own lawn care business

    Now this is a man!! Tried his best to cover everything. Did an awesome job. If he was my son I’d be so proud of him. I did crack up when the rope in the garage broke cause I wasn’t expecting it. God bless you all. You make me smile sir.😊😊😊
