I read somone comments that Ripper was hated..no we loves him..the album Jugulator was a beast and he brings so much energy and Xcitement to the live settings..😚
From '85 to '90 Rob sounded better live than he ever has before or since. Tim definitely has his own voice but damn can he really kick some ass. Very underrated
The reason why I say this is, Rob either sang the song way to high, or to low. When Tim came out and rocked this song, everyone shat their pants. Rob was always a better singer but this song was almost meant for Tim
Not agreeing or disagreeing with either of you I think Rob and Tim are both awesome in they're own ways but have you ever heard Halford version of painkiller live from Annehiem 2003 or Sophia 2004? You might just change your mind.
No one hates him. It's just he was a carbon copy of Halford and he joined the band at the worst possible time; when they were going through a creative dry spell. Tim is acknowledged by most Priest fans as a highly gifted singer.
@@andythegoatman694 halford sound like dio you know halford sing in black sabbat in replacament dio in deshumanizer tour because halford sound like dio ,
Tim Ripper Owens hands down sang this song better than Rob. Tim has one of the best voices in metal nowadays. Even when Rob wrote the song, the early showings of this live were no where near this level. Tim made this song his own. That being said, Rob still sings every other song better somehow hahahahaha.
I love Ripper, but Owens didn't have as many concert years as Halford did when he recorded Jugulator and Demolition. I'd like to see if he gets old singing as well as Metal God.
Tim did the best job for Judas Priest. He deserves respect. Period.

Live 98 is the best live version of painkiller ever imo.
I was at the gig, the live in London one. It was amazing. Saxon supported also.

ripper es un monstruo me hubiera gustado disfrutarlo un tiempo mas en judas...
Halford : spear
Owen : hammer
I love both style of vocal.
They have difference of vocal tone but , they are always best vocal in metal scene.
Actually both are fuckin' amazing.
If Judas Priest had written Painkiller in the 70s, this is what it would have sounded like live.
It's sad that Ripper is such a phenomenal singer but he only got to be on Jugulator and Demolition. He deserved so much better than those albums!
Nickster63 juggulators a goddamn masterpiece
People don't like change and Halford is irreplaceable but let's be real Jugulator is underrated as fuck.
Jugulator is good. Demolition blows.
there many albums with Ripper i know 5 ,and 6 now with KK Priest
This is my favorite version of Painkiller, hands down. Studio or live....not even close.
1:42 chills
Priest Forever :)

halford metal god ripper metal messiah
why do Judas Priest fans hate Tim again?

Because he isn’t Rob Halford
@@Lvestfold4143 idk his regular singing sounds more dio inspired screams are Hanford inspired butb more forceful just me

@judasdeathrow666 I don't wanna sound like a douche but Ripper sings this song live better than Rob ever could
9:49 : judas priest + optimus prime = WIN
Finally somebody sings it right live.😁
Halford just wasn't ever able to.😕
THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE VERSION, I like Halford a lot, but RIPPER OWNS.
Ripper es como el joven haldford
@felphero I DON'T KNOW MAN, BUT OWENS IS A GOOD VOCALIST
I love Ripper, but Owens didn't have as many concert years as Halford did when he recorded Jugulator and Demolition. I'd like to see if he gets old singing as well as Metal God.
