    Intelligent questions, intelligent answers. I can tell Bowie likes this interviewer.

      Yes I love it when he bursts out laughing at something, usually in a self-depreciating way. His laugh was so infectious.

    One of the rare interviews where Bowie (and I'm a fan) doesn't make up silly stories as if they're the truth. This feels like the interviewer really opened up Bowie's head and got inside

      He wasn't coked out here.

    • @MaakBow
      @MaakBow Год назад +3

      @@markpalmer8083 come on ....he did coke for about 3-4 years in the late 70's. After which he became drug and alcohol free..and later cigarette free. Yes there were a few interviews in that period where he appeared coked out but a very few considering the many hundreds of interviews you could watch.

    What a cool interview. Always interesting to pick this dude's brain. He was cultivating a fanbase through the internet well before music streaming or social media

    watching this interview for the 10th time now and always love the flow - george is the kind of interviewer that seems both super chill yet gently probing, and can deftly prompt a conversation without forcing topics or anecdotes. well-structured interviews are so underrated. i wish they included this in the Moonage Daydream movie but alas it seemed to all but skim through the 2000s.

    This is a great interview! He’s so relaxed and happy. And he really did enjoy introducing new music to the masses. Love his voice and his laugh. It’s so calming and infectious.

      Yes, he dismisses his most successful period from '84 on he says, after the Lets Dance record which came out in '83, but that also made him an international millionaire superstar with hit singles on TV ever day, and the Serious Moonlight world tour, and then another tour again in '87. But I will say, maybe this is what he means, I saw Serious Moonlight in Detroit, and it was basically like seeing him singing Lets Dance and Modern Love on MTV 50 times, with that same suit. He did an incredible amount of in leading up to it too though, producing Iggy Pops records, playing on his tour and making Low, Heroes, & Lodger, then Scary Monsters. I think maybe too was the fact that it was a change of the experimental pioneering sounds from those prior records to suddenly there was David in a suit and tie everywhere at once for the Lets Dance more pop/rock/jazzy/big band sounding songs (though still unique) though actually he did not play any instruments on it which is even more notable, his most successful record. He has said, basically he was now being David Bowie for once.

    This interview is above average indeed, but what about the quality of the image..??! It should be taken down from RUclips and from the Internet as it is a disgrace.. A bit of respect for the Rockstar's depiction s.v.p.

    Another great Bowie interview. I thought the interviewer was great to until he talked about radio being in the hands of 52 year old white guys - that seemed pretty clumsy or rude. I mean he was interviewing a 55 year old white guy. The problem isn’t the radio guys’ age or colour - it’s their attitude.
