  • I'm so excited to finally share the tutorial for my evil eye granny square blanket with you! This was a pattern I came up with a month or so ago when I was wanting to crochet an evil eye blanket. I absolutely love making granny squares and will often find new and fun ways to turn anything, including this evil eye, into one.
Here is the link to the free written pattern available on my website: jenoelleboutiq...
I really hope you enjoy this tutorial. There were a few times I called my tapestry needle a tapestry hook..haha..and I think I even accidentally said to fasten off your ends, when I meant to weave in your ends. But, I'm sure these little slips in vocabulary don't take away from the ease of this pattern.

Thanks for the tutorial! The instructions were easy to follow (even for someone like me who hasn’t touched a crochet hook in months) and the final output is stunning.

What does it mean if mine is taking a bowl shape? Am I doing it too tightly? Will they flatten out eventually when making a blanket? I'm using bigger yarn that you aswell

Hi Macy! if its taking on a bowl shape make sure your Stitch count is correct for each round. If everything is adding up you could try to go up a hook size so that the worked yarn won't be too tight. Finally when you start crocheting the granny square part this helps to flatten it out. One final thing you could do is block your squares after you crochet them on a blocking board. If you still need help please email me jenoelle.hb@gmail.com
