Maybe not in this case. My diesel was blowing smoke due to the reduced sulphur content blocking the injectors, but I didn't know why. When someone told me I put a double dose of injector cleaner in the tank and the problem was almost gone by the time I got home. Believe me, it was a real relief! I'm not sure about any performance improvements but it can't have hurt.
It depends on how much you mix up I always go for over kill on my mixes chevron with tech Ron black and gray bottles largest bottle you can buy 104 octane super black and heat red bottle and 93 octane gas for that super kick in the pants my olds 307 loves it peace and much respect to you Jason
You're right, but also what can happen is that it breaks down water/condens particles, so that it constantly feels better.. I mean, no hesitation and sputtering in carburetor/injection..
For me it does, last week my bike felt sluggish & idling was rough, even died while idling when its cold. So over the weekend, added in half a bottle of penrite injector cleaner with roughly 2 gal of fuel…then run it around the neighbourhood for few minutes. Could really felt the difference, no more rough idle…acceleration felt better, got a marginally better top speed than before 😊
If filling the tank gave instant results, you don’t have an injector issue, you either have a plugged filter or collapsing fuel line. Filling the tank increases the head pressure and pushes the fuel past the obstruction, until it gets low again.
If he was running cheap gas , the fuel injector cleaner would be a improvement within about 10 minutes, I have experienced this multiple times with numerous small engines including motorcycles. One big difference as well is using gas that DOES NOT have ethanol. It will run like it’s not even the same bike.
@@spartanx169x he didn’t say 10 min, he said 2, or pretty much instantly. It’s a delivery issue. Whether the gas has ethanol or not is not pertinent either, because, again, it’s pretty much instant. And the difference in the fuel isn’t that dramatic. @ 10% ethanol there is a loss of energy, but not a “ hang on tight this is pure gas” difference. The biggest issue with ethanol is it attracts water and that causes performance issues and fouls filters and attacks fuel system internals.
when I used that stuff my headlights stopped working, then I realized I was traveling at the speed of light, broke the time space continuum, good shit.
With only 7k mls on the bike there will be no need to clean the injectors unless there had been a bad batch of fuel that may have fouled them but bike was running ok before. Any noticable performance increase would have been from getting the engine real hot on a cold day.
I mean most of the additives contain Octane boosters too. So higher Octane could result in a little higher performance (Really small) and lower gas milage.
@@MrArjanOskam Higher octane doesnt boost performance UNLESS the engine is experiencing preignition (otherwise known as detonation, pinging and/or knocking... we'll simply call it preignition for now). Preignition is exactly what it sounds like... the fuel is igniting before (pre) the piston reaches top dead center, which is caused by excessive combustion chamber heat. The fuel is actually igniting before the spark plug fires, which will not only rob power, it can do real nasty things inside the engine, like bending rods, valve stems, putting holes in the piston(s), blow head gaskets, etc, etc. The higher the fuel octane rating, the less prone to preignition the fuel is. So if the engine is detonating on something like 87 octane, it wont make full power in the first place. If the same bike gets 91 or 93 octane gas and the preignition stops, then it WILL make more power, simply because the engine is running without preignition. If the engine is running properly on 87 octane with no detonation, using 89, 91 or 93 octane will not make the bike run better or make more power. The bike will run the same as it does with 87 octane (I get a kick out or riders that say "I put 100 octane race fuel in my bike and it was way faster. Only if the bike was not running properly in the first place. If the bike was running well on 93 octane, putting in 100 octane wont do a thing, other than smell different coming out of the exhaust pipe). If the bike still detonates with 93 octane gas, then something else is wrong, and the bike should be brought in for service.
@@MrArjanOskam nope! Higher octane does NOT boost performance, it’s for knock management. It’s actually LESS energy than low octane. Octane is increased to prevent detonation or pre ignition. That’s why race cars use it. Their compression has been increased, so low octane fuel will ignite from being compressed, before the plug fires. Raising octane decreases the volatility of the gas, making it HARDER to ignite so you don’t get detonation. For best performance of ANY engine, run the lowest octane you can without pinging. If it pings on 87,, go to 89 and so on. Some engines, with a lot of miles, get carbon built up in the combustion chamber and will start to ping, going up in octane will stop it and is not uncommon. In short...more octane = LESS energy per unit. So less power and less fuel mileage.
He COULD notice a difference... BUT, if a bike runs better after a fill up it’s not the fuel, it’s the WEIGHT of the fuel. If he has a partially clogged filter or collapsing fuel line, as the amount of fuel in the tank goes down, so does the flow of the fuel. It’s head pressure. If filling the bike makes it run better, the head pressure, or weight of the fuel, is pushing the fuel past the obstruction. Then , as the level drops past a certain point, it can’t overcome the obstruction again. Fill up, all good. Classic symptoms. It would take several tanks and many miles for cleaner to do anything of note.

Techron is good cleaner. What to look for is PEA. That's the cleaner for modern fuels. It works quickly so I'm not surprised that one might notice a difference in throttle response right away. I cleaned a throttle body injector with the stuff and as soon as it fell into the glass the liquid change color. It was right away. You don't have to over do it with the amount. It might cause some kind of failure in an O2 sensor or something if you put too much in, if your bike has one.
Ran out of fuel once had to make it a short way home. I had a little bottle of octane booster which I poured in the tank of my motorcycle. It ran on that but it seemed to rev high and it also turned the spark plugs Orange in a matter of blocks
I have been using Techron fuel additive for years. It is great for cleaning parts, but is really designed as a preventative against sludge and varnish in your fuel system. In many markets, maybe yours, E-10 ethanol based fuel is all that is available and ethanol gas breaks down after just a couple of months. Storing a bike, lawn mower, chain saw, boat roto tiller, etc...without adding a quality fuel system stabilizer or cleaner has cost unsuspecting consumers millions of dollars every year. Expecting immediate results, as you just did, is a little unrealistic, although if you say you felt a difference I'll believe you. This time...

I was going to say there is no way the bike would pull the fluid through and make a difference in minutes. Try like 20 - 50 miles and at least half the tank.

Those things really do work when you have a real problem. I had a head gasket busted in one of the cylinders and the oil was getting into the combustion chamber making the spark plug wet and shutting down that cylinder completely. It was a V-twin and I could only ride it if I added those cleaners with EVERY fill up. They helped me get by until I had a chance to fix it. Most bikes don't need it at all. Besides a little bit of techron is added to the gas on shevron gas stations anyway.
I put half a bottle of techron into a full tank of fuel on my cbr 929 n was worried it would mess up the motor lol....I guess its fine after all if he dumped the whole bottle in lol
Had some rust in my tank and the motorcycle started to act up while us rideing in other country. It started losing power and would not rev up. Not to mention the abnormal engine noise, a low grunt... Now imagine overtaking a truck and by the middle of that truck, the bike lost power and revs went back to 2000rpm... Used fuel injector cleaner to finish my 2 week motorcycle ride with ease. So Fuel Injector Cleaner is good for something. Got back home and changed the gas tank and the entire injector ramp, just to be sure for the future. Left unchecked, rust in the tank is a m.f.
He shouldn't use the whole bottle. For a 5 gallon tank, half a bottle of 12oz should suffice. Pour in the injector cleaner in ur low fuel tank, and then fill it up with petrol.
The purpose of a fuel injection cleaner is they work through heat soaking. Pour it into the bike, start bike and let it warm up and ride it a few minutes to run that fuel through or lift the back and put it into gear.
Fuel system cleaner results in the ride immediately after fill-up? However, because of the comments about not riding “stupid”: riding no hands, ”target fixating while complaining about utilities company not “completing” a repair to your liking. However, the best was buzzing a residential neighborhood while talking with your hands, not in control of your motorcycle, and explaining motorcycles travel at faster speeds than cars with little effort.
Once a month I put SEAFOAM in my tank to make sure everything is clean and clear in my ZX14R. I ride all year long in MARYLAND as long as it isn’t raining, snowing and the temp is over 40F. I’ve been doing this for over 32 years now and never had any issues. 😊
You must be in NJ with gas attendants working at a WaWa. Maybe you should try adding some stickers on your bike instead. It will add at least 50 rice power !
Supposedly Cheveron fuel cleaner is BMW approved or something. One thing I don't recommend is LIQUI MOLY Oil Additive that stuff made my oil change color and it looked terrible! I think premium pump gas should have enough detergents in it, plus with bikes gas doesn't really sit in the tank for long unless you don't ride...
I just hit 20K miles on my bike, and I just did VP fuel system cleaner. not something I would do all the time but I felt 20K is a good time to do a treatment.will probably do one now every 10K. I still have plans to take my throttle bodies off and clean them. but this should be good to keep the chamber clean and injectors flowing. I do feel better throttle response,. not sure about MPG, I think it's about the same. 47MPG for my 2015 FJ09
I think what can happen is it breaks loose all the crud in the tank and lines and it can end up clogging the injectors so it's best too pull the injectors and clean them individually
Not much help, Takes about 15 to 30 min for the fuel to circulate and the cleaner to make a difference or not. You talk bout cars pulling out, but you're dare-deviling with no hands. Oh yeah,' what was the type of techron used? your hand covered half of the label
Actually you were supposed to fill up your tank first and then put fuel injector cleaner in there. When you fill your tank up then you put in the injector cleaner, it mixes from top to bottom. If you read the instructions that's what it tells you to do anyways so you did it backwards
@@mcfgotmillk It doesn't matter which way you did it, except that it worked!! I sometimes use a few ounces of "Seafoam" in my fuel tank, and believe me, it keeps my EFI- 08' Sportster XL1200 Nightster in top condition! (Also, I always use "Shell Premium" fuel 93 octane, because it has the most amount of detergent than any other brand fuel. Don't believe? look up the specifications! It saves me from buying a bottle of fuel injector cleaner, at the auto parts store, and trying to figure out how much to carry, and put into my fuel tank.)
I'm in Indiana so not sure what gas stations we all share but around here they call it REC-90 ....TOP TIER FUEL FOR ADDITIVES AND IT ETHANOL FREE!!!!!! any place that's top tier rated and offers ethanol free .... THAT fuel is the absolute best for your motorcycle boat or small engine hands down
If you use trash gasoline, you will notice a difference using additives. Especially if deposits build up over time, or you don’t drive very often. Seafoam, atf fluid, and cold beer has unclogged stuck lifters and dirty injectors and saved thousands of un needed mechanic bills. Always remember a mechanic isn’t going to tell you that anything bought off a shelf can help.
I hate being restricted or lack of touch/grip. At 180-200.... one mess up, your done. So, until below 35, hoodie (maybe 2) jeans or "pajama pants", and grip tennis shoes. Full face helmet with a clean visor coated with water repellent. And 1000cc mostly aftermarket rocket between your legs baby! Perfect road temps and summer almost here ;) they aren't ready for the new toy 😈
It's not a performance fuel additive, it's a cleaner, that's it. If their is gunk somewhere in your fuel system it will clean it out thereby improving performance. It is a very effective high quality product but it is not rocket fuel.
Oh, and putting the whole bottle in ( that is capable of treating up to 20 gallons) is just plain foolish, a forth of the bottle would have been more than enough, depending on your tank size.
This is one of those learning experiences. You’ll look back on this video and laugh bc you’d have learned fuel additives do nothing but make your wallet lighter. You may go faster by the weight loss in your wallet ✌🏽
No instant gains but bought an 83 rx7 from an auction carb was gummed up pretty badly. Barely ran secondarys didn't open. Use a bottle of carb cleaner and every time it was restarted it ran a little better. Fast forward two tanks worth and carb was working perfectly. Saved me from pulling off that vacuum hose laden pos and going through it.
If you use them right then no they don't just make your wallet lighter, if you're putting system cleaner into a bike that doesn't even need cleaning then obviously there's off to be no change, the change comes when you add it to a bike that needs cleaning, it isn't instant magic it takes time to run through and a couple bottles but there is improvement.
I did the whole bottle on accident and it sucked...ran rough as hell, had to pump all the gas out etc... took forever to turn back to normal. Don't do it. Ever. Just follow info on the bottle.
Heck give me 6pack then just to make sure? My Dad always said if ya cant fix it with a screw driver, hammer, and a gross of rubbers just fuck it. Worked for me might work for you 2
I have a 2013 zx6r and its been sitting a while and for the first time that I rode it in like 4 months its starting to hesitate on the lower rpms but gets better on the higher rpms. Would something like this help solve this problem?
I think so, I had an fz6 years ago and I had a similar issue. I did the same thing except just a little differently. I only used half a bottle of the STP. Filled the tank , ran through that in about a week and use the second half and fill the tank. The problem was solved.
Ool did this to my Raider hoping that it would fix my 1900cc engine running on one cylinder. Believe it is the infamous horribly designed Raider fuel pump. Just put new tires on it and this happens. Have to say been doing more wrenching than driving honestly may just sell the whole stable. Fork seals, fuel pumps that cost hundreds, tires tires tires, cleaning it never ends
Dude, no injector cleaner is going to work in less than a minute. Its the placebo effect. If your injectors are blocked after 6000 miles you fuel is rubbish over there.
Dude, you added a cleaner, not an octane booster... the idea is that as you use the entire tank of fuel, it will slowly clean your injectors. It's not instantaneous. Tell me what made you think you needed to add injector cleaner (ie, hesitation, stalling, backfire, misfire, etc...) then tell me how it drove AFTER you drove a whole tank worth of fuel... For that bike, what's it about 200-250 miles?
@Terry Crews mine is doing that and pouring gas THROUGH and out of the air filter...going to try to adjust float and see if it's stuck or? Flushed carb out with wd 40 and it ran fine again for awhile
I use fuel system cleaner the week before doing an oil change and gradually increase the rev range I use during that week so I'm riding like a maniac by the end of the week! Then all the dissolved and broken bits of carbon deposits get taken out when I do the oil change.
There's no way you can tell if there's any improvement. You hadn't even used the fuel in the line between the tank and carbs! Possibly over a hundred miles or so you might notice an improvement in an older engine as deposits get cleaned away but your engine is almost new. There's nothing going here.
I do this all the time but when I buy from service centers I hate it when they ask what car I drove 😂😂😂 don’t listen to their lectures, it works fine but it might be a bit spitty the first time.
Adhitives cleaners dont give extra bhp, they only work on old and very high miles engines plus it takes time in order for product to do its job. If you want more power and performance move on to a bigger bike.
I don't know what you guys are talking about.... I saw a 500HP gain from one bottle instantly.
Hell my racing stripes gave me 55 hp instantly
That's nothing. If i close the air vents in my helmet and I gained 1000 moped experience points. The hp gain was only 7
That makes total sense. I had a mustang gt an when I bought a new 6 disc changer it added over 8.2 horsepower. Lmao
I added cleaner to my bike, threw away the bottle, turned around and found a brand new shiny bike sitting there.
When your drag car has bad injectors
At least 10-20 hp + per bottle.. I put this stuff in my mongoose and was pedaling my ass off boy, that stuff works

On a 5 gallon tank how much of the teckron should you use?
He shouldn't use the whole bottle. For a 5 gallon tank, half a bottle of 12oz should suffice. Pour in the injector cleaner in ur low fuel tank, and then fill it up with petrol.
Dude it would not make a difference til the next tank XD
Exactly
Yep. Techron works, but your vehicle have to consume 2 bottles of it.
@@nuclearwinter21 damn i have to drink two bottles oof
Damn 2.29 for gas. I wish it was still that low😭😭
£9 a 1.5 gallons in UK ;/
You must be in NJ with gas attendants working at a WaWa. Maybe you should try adding some stickers on your bike instead. It will add at least 50 rice power !
It’s not flammable. I tried starting a fire at camp with it and it made it worse lol
same here! hah
Really? I used induction cleaner from work. Almost lost my eyebrows. But made my scooter run like shit.
Can you put a link for those gloves cuz those look like a pair id wanna get
Got them for Christmas. There heated and everything. Even got a windshield cleaner on it lol
Ay bro i know am not the only one that noticed the guy in gas station was threatening u right?
That's what I said..wth was that..and random guy with a threat? Glad I wasn't the only one to notice
I think what can happen is it breaks loose all the crud in the tank and lines and it can end up clogging the injectors so it's best too pull the injectors and clean them individually
0-60 in 2 seconds with that bike? Idk why I own a busa.
Oh hush haha
Lol just saying! Good vid though!
I also like the video,,riding smart prevents accidents or rather cuts down on potential accidents.
Not much help, Takes about 15 to 30 min for the fuel to circulate and the cleaner to make a difference or not. You talk bout cars pulling out, but you're dare-deviling with no hands. Oh yeah,' what was the type of techron used? your hand covered half of the label
“when your on a bike you feel like your not going fast” maybe for YOUR bike 🤣
Actually you were supposed to fill up your tank first and then put fuel injector cleaner in there. When you fill your tank up then you put in the injector cleaner, it mixes from top to bottom. If you read the instructions that's what it tells you to do anyways so you did it backwards
It said on the bottle itself to fill it half then add. But since it's only a 3 gallon tank. I said fuck it
@@mcfgotmillk
It doesn't matter which way you did it, except that it worked!!
I just buy Chevron gasoline for my motorcycle so it has some of those great additives all the time. Only use the best quality gasolines in your bike!
I'm in Indiana so not sure what gas stations we all share but around here they call it REC-90 ....TOP TIER FUEL FOR ADDITIVES AND IT ETHANOL FREE!!!!!! any place that's top tier rated and offers ethanol free .... THAT fuel is the absolute best for your motorcycle boat or small engine hands down
@@jeridells6497 That's a great point. Wish we had that brand out here in CA
Haha
With this holly liquid
I’m going to exercise the demons
and PURIFY this motorcycle
Run some marvelous mystery oil in it every fill up. Great stuff that actually works
Good Video! I alternate between Techron, and the New STP ® ULTRA 5 in 1 Fuel System Cleaner, it works well like melting that carbon like butter.
This stuff is like Redbull, it gives you Wings.🤣🤣🤣
Ride it HARD through the tank.
Lol ..Bruh, you had enough of old gas in the fuel lines and filter to make it to Alaska 😂
Where can I find this "trash gasoline " you speak of?
I hate being restricted or lack of touch/grip. At 180-200.... one mess up, your done. So, until below 35, hoodie (maybe 2) jeans or "pajama pants", and grip tennis shoes. Full face helmet with a clean visor coated with water repellent. And 1000cc mostly aftermarket rocket between your legs baby! Perfect road temps and summer almost here ;) they aren't ready for the new toy 😈
Every time you get on a motorcycle, you have to be ok with dying. Or your fear will cause hesitation. Dont ride, fly 😁
Thinking I want to get a bike this coming summer
Do it. It's worth it. In my opinion
Do it but don't be a sucker. Most bikes are more expensive than cars nowadays it's ludicrous. Don't be a sucker.
I got my 1st big bike a couple of months ago here in the uk. A 1999 cbr600. £1700 absolutely love it cheap to insure too
It's not instant but these cleaners do work if you give them time (assuming your injectors aren't too bad). I like Seafoam
where you buy this gloves?? can i gett from the web? amazon ebay??
Techron filed the original and first injector patent .Many if not most commercially available cleaners are based on the original formula.
It's not a performance fuel additive, it's a cleaner, that's it. If their is gunk somewhere in your fuel system it will clean it out thereby improving performance. It is a very effective high quality product but it is not rocket fuel.
What heated gloves are you wearing in the video?
Oh, and putting the whole bottle in ( that is capable of treating up to 20 gallons) is just plain foolish, a forth of the bottle would have been more than enough, depending on your tank size.
I put the whole bottle in my bike and a few days later my bike dies every time I give it gas I don't know what to do
@@xivliai975 take it to a professional if you can and tell them what happened and have them check things out.
I miss my 650R 😿

Love the gloves bro good idea with the visor cleaner 👌
There nice gloves, I just gotta go get summer gloves now
@@mcfgotmillk I'm the opposite need some for winter haha
What model gloves were those?
wait what!!? only 1.6gallon for that 355ml cleaner?.....
Took 1.6 gallons to fill his bike, he wasn’t empty
Yeah no duhh but have only 1.5 gallons in there isnt gonna make a difference.
Mcfgotmillk I think dude thought you had 1.6 after putting gas
There's enough for about 8 tanks full 😂🤣
This is one of those learning experiences. You’ll look back on this video and laugh bc you’d have learned fuel additives do nothing but make your wallet lighter. You may go faster by the weight loss in your wallet ✌🏽
hahahaah lol
🤣
Trust me, Techron works. BUT, you have to consume 2 bottles of it before you make a conclusion. 👌🏼
I'd get some actual motorcycle tank cleaner. This was honestly a experiment
I think so, I had an fz6 years ago and I had a similar issue. I did the same thing except just a little differently. I only used half a bottle of the STP. Filled the tank , ran through that in about a week and use the second half and fill the tank. The problem was solved.
Yep
Ool did this to my Raider hoping that it would fix my 1900cc engine running on one cylinder. Believe it is the infamous horribly designed Raider fuel pump. Just put new tires on it and this happens. Have to say been doing more wrenching than driving honestly may just sell the whole stable. Fork seals, fuel pumps that cost hundreds, tires tires tires, cleaning it never ends
Dude, no injector cleaner is going to work in less than a minute. Its the placebo effect. If your injectors are blocked after 6000 miles you fuel is rubbish over there.
One of his friends needs to have a good talk with him lmao 🤣
I put it in after a dormant winter to clean out the old gas
Have done this for years
I believe in it
Did it work?
Dude, you added a cleaner, not an octane booster... the idea is that as you use the entire tank of fuel, it will slowly clean your injectors. It's not instantaneous. Tell me what made you think you needed to add injector cleaner (ie, hesitation, stalling, backfire, misfire, etc...) then tell me how it drove AFTER you drove a whole tank worth of fuel... For that bike, what's it about 200-250 miles?
He used the while bottle so yes it is instant results...kinda of a dumbass bunch on here
@Terry Crews mine is doing that and pouring gas THROUGH and out of the air filter...going to try to adjust float and see if it's stuck or? Flushed carb out with wd 40 and it ran fine again for awhile
@Terry Crews howd it go?
After just watching this video I noticed 5hp increase in my Triumph.
Where can i find those gloves?
Holy shit that bike drives with the side stand down?!
Holy shit that kid drives with the side stand down?!
How often should we apply this to our bikes ?
Every 1000km if u love ur bike. Or before u are about to do an Engine oil change.
fuel injection cleaners have fuel additives which may make the bike feel faster, other than that its a good cleaner.
FYI- It's gunna take awhile for the cleaner to work. I get it, the bike will run on Techron.
I use fuel system cleaner the week before doing an oil change and gradually increase the rev range I use during that week so I'm riding like a maniac by the end of the week!
Then all the dissolved and broken bits of carbon deposits get taken out when I do the oil change.
Its all in ypur mind
Soooo no descernable affect?
Placebo effect, the power of suggestion.
Octane boosters might be a placebo effect, but have u seen a fuel injector cleaner test that evens out the spray?
Can i do this for my bmw r1150?
Didn't know they had an orange one, I've got the red one and originally thought yours was just a really faded version of mine
Mistake is that the bottle is for a full tank on a CAR
link for the glove ?
I used lucus thrn added qt 93, 5 min later fi light came on, still on
There's no way you can tell if there's any improvement. You hadn't even used the fuel in the line between the tank and carbs! Possibly over a hundred miles or so you might notice an improvement in an older engine as deposits get cleaned away but your engine is almost new. There's nothing going here.
Bro seeing those gas prices almost made me cry
I do this all the time but when I buy from service centers I hate it when they ask what car I drove 😂😂😂 don’t listen to their lectures, it works fine but it might be a bit spitty the first time.
What are the gloves? Could you give me a link :)
Adhitives cleaners dont give extra bhp, they only work on old and very high miles engines plus it takes time in order for product to do its job. If you want more power and performance move on to a bigger bike.
How can the cleaner work in a few minutes (lol). Maybe after a few hundred miles.
