    It's one of the biggest pitfalls in training anything - sport skill, instrument, etc - that once you're brain gets used to a pattern you stop building those neural connections. Thanks for putting out such thoughtful content. Also, the fact that you can do these videos in one continuous shot is a testament to your poise as a teacher. You're helping a lot of people get better at what they love. Thank you.

    This is Great thank you!!! I am curious as to why we would shuffle away from the ball leaving it slightly exposed to The defender as opposed to shuffling with or towards the ball to help protect the ball and maybe be able to get down hill better with the space that was created? Thanks Again for everything!

    Coach, what the hell do u mean that might look easy xd that must be the hardest looking drill I've seen like... ever. Today is 22.1.2018. I'll come back 28.2.2018 and let u know how I've developed. Thanks for the drill!

    • @DeepGameBasketball

      Nvm I'm here already (9.2.2018) and I've got this one down pretty well. Tbh for me this looked harder that it actually was. The fact that while doing this, u've to think about moving and handling the ball at the same time and it scared me at first. But since I wasnt compleatly beginner it didnt take too much time to get used to it. Obviously I wont stop practising this one, but when it comes too easy to do I'll probably mix things up and evolve this drill to the next lvl.
      Still, a great drill. Would recommend.
      Thanks coach!

      Every basketball player that has spent countless hours daily throughout hot sizzling boring summers with nothing but old sneakers, beat up basketball, and sweat... Have came up with similar basketball drills. Once you get this pattern down, throw in a perimeter jump shot. Get your mid range game up there with your handles. Just keep evolving it after each hour til you pass out or need to eat and sleep... Go do that... Comeback evolve the pattern further :)

    hey coach is it good to do drills you arent actually going to do in-game? e.g: 2 ball drills, combo moves, etc. or is it better to do your simple crossover a million times? thxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    • @DeepGameBasketball
      @DeepGameBasketball  7 лет назад +2

      That's personal preference. For instance, Coach Drew doesn't like doing non-game drills ever. But if you ever watch Steph Curry train or warm-up he's using two balls, a tennis ball, and a few other training aids.
      So, it's really up to you and what makes you better.

      The philosophy behind it is the brain learns by repetition so throwing a small variable in the mix to disrupt the brain's conditioning forces your mind and body to further develop more complex behavioral patterns. This same concept is applied to anyone advancing their skill from music to art even sex or bodybuilding (shock the muscle is how Arnold teaches the concept in bodybuilding).

    • @DeepGameBasketball

      Sounds like it's a mental thing and you're probably speeding up and losing your normal stroke. Try practicing at game speed and see if that helps over the course of 4 weeks or so.
