    I think the kneeling was more of a protest. I don't think he had any intention at all to disrespect America. Don't get too sensitive guys.

      You know how he even got the idea of kneeling, don't you? True story, Google it..
      He was trying to think of a way to protest all the injustice of the cops and the black community. And a. X Marine had written him a letter and explained to Kap that when a fellow solider had fallen(died) at the funeral all the other Marines would kneel on 1 knee to show respect to the lost solider and their family. So Kap thought it was a good idea to do just that. From the next game on Kap would kneel down on his knee. When asked why he told the story. But you never heard that. You only heard what the news wanted you to hear. Kap is being disrespectful to all the military. That's total B.S. he was only trying to use his platform to bring awareness to what was happening and continues to happen on America. Just like you said. But no one know wants to hear it. The media wants to throw him under the bus. And like stupid sheep we all believe what the media says. Or at least most of the population does.

      Oh, he had absolutely NO intent of disrespect. It has ALWAYS been a show of respect (taking a knee is a position of prayer) for lives lost and a protest against racist harassment and police brutality / murder of people of color. He has explained that in several microphones. Those who support murder have tried to make it about something else.

      If he really cared about protesting the subject he would have done it another way. He's just virtue signaling he hasn't said any stats about his claims and he hasn't put any money to do anything to help the situation. He is a phony and now he has profitted off of the victims of police brutality. How can no one see this

    We're all being distracted by the real issue which is why Kap is protesting: Police brutality and oppression of minorities. You guys should be more upset that your president is only taking the way he protested into account and not the lives of his citizens. If you don't agree with the way kap is protesting that's fine, but instead of arguing about that, we should be discussing ways to fix the issue of police brutality.

      Saying that cops are institutionally racist. Which is what you are saying, is contradictory to your point. This is because your fighting against racism yet grouping all cops together based off one cops actions which is the definition of racism. It's messed up to group people based off one person actions it's not many of the cops being racist like you said it's a few. You need to look at black on black issues before we work ahead. "Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything." I agree but I don't want to just believe in anything. I want to believe in humanity not government, countries, celebrities, money, or possessions.

    • @danii_green
      @danii_green 3 года назад +1

      It said believe in "something," not just "anything." You said you agree, "but." But negates what you said and means you really don't agree. What, if anything, do you believe in that you're willing to sacrifice for and not just criticize?
      If you want to believe in humanity, do that. If you don't want to believe in government, countries and celebrities. Do that as well. You don't want to believe in money or possessions, however, I don't see you or any others that have a problem with this ad giving either of those things up. A lot of people criticize China and have boatloads of their products. You can't have it both ways...... and I'm not afraid of what the fallout may be from my comment because I believe that an agent for change will always be bigger than the voices of those that say they want it just to be able to say they said they want it.

    To be clear I'm taking no stance on anything political here man. Just saying Nike is doing nothing to support anyone. They're only cutting themselves a check. Clout chasing essentially. Everything is a money grab... Nike doesn't care about free speech or racial injustice, this was a move to boost Their bottom line by appealing to the popular concensous of their consumer base.
    They nailed this and effectively inspired their customer base to even spend more. Nikes sales increased after the ad.
    For the big Nike support that came from customers after this ad... You do realize Nike has made no financial investment in low income areas, they've done nothing to improve education in those areas, and other than profiting big of a perceived support, what have they really done for the black community? What about for just minorities or even whites in low income areas. Nothing. Besides cut themselves a bigger check. How about donating some of that money to low income schools? How about funding programs to support troubled youth, minorities or any one of Color or not of color and who just happens to be in a pipeline to prison in these low income areas?
    Nike do this, than you will really deserve respect. You might just increase your bottom line even more too!

      @CasperTheDuck wow talk about narrow minded. It not about color anymore. Officer think they can do anything because they are the law because they carry guns and a badge. When a officer unloads a clip into a suspect because he or she things the suspect has a weapon that's when you need to ask when is it safe for any person in this world. There is no logic to shoot and kill. None!!!
