I agree with most items on things I would never buy with the exception of the platform sandals, some can be hideous I 100% agree (not as bad as flat Dad sandals in black, omg😂)but if you are large chested, petite, dainty sandals don't always work, platform sandals look great with long bootcut jeans in a boho kinda way which I dip into in the summer. Sydney can be very warm in summer and we have relatively mild winters however your advice can be tailored for the climate. Having said that perhaps a little more warm to hot climate style advice wouldn’t go astray, we see a lot of very questionable style here in the hot weather. Warsaw, Poland. Cold, fairly cold for 8-9 months, dry and hot for 3 - 4 months of summer (due to the thin air and burning sun, not really due to a very high temperature). If summer is above 30 you feel like on Sahara desert.
Platform heels are the only ones I can wear. My feet have problems. I also cannot wear ballet flats at all. My inset is incredibly high and a girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do.

We also have the famous red dirt so I don’t wear much white and shoes just get ruined quickly. I prefer to wear classic pieces but style them a bit more edgy. I’m from the southeast too and summers can be soo hot and humid. Summers can go from May almost to the end of October, and don’t forget the mosquitoes.

Hi Lydia, I am 54, Irish, same climate as the UK. My style words are classic, timeless, chic, love french vibes- masculine-feminine dressing, which is why I follow you. I agree with most items on things I would never buy with the exception of the platform sandals, some can be hideous I 100% agree (not as bad as flat Dad sandals in black, omg😂)but if you are large chested, petite, dainty sandals don't always work, platform sandals look great with long bootcut jeans in a boho kinda way which I dip into in the summer. Agree!! I especially agree on the “silly slogans”!! Regarding “signs and slogans” in the home, I always get tickled when someone includes the sign “Farmhouse” in their farmhouse-styled house…or the sign: “Beach” in their beach house! Lolol!

I'm 69 and was born in Akron, Ohio and live "next door" in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Lake Erie (Cleveland Ohio) affects so much of our weather, which tends to be partly cloud with summers temp averaging low 80'sF/26.7C ish and winter temps averaging in the mid 30'sF/1.11C ish! @@judithcatlett8518 Zones are hardiness zones in the UK and USA and rest of the world for gardening - so you know what to plant etc. So Zone 7 in USA is 10F through to 0F
Lydia mentioned she wanted to know the climate of where we live. I just thought USDA guide might help. Maybe I was wrong to include that…zone guide just helps me to imagine how cold an area might get.
Cropped style comes and goes. When tops are too cropped it likes dated very quickly. And juvenile often always.

Sydney can be very warm in summer and we have relatively mild winters however your advice can be tailored for the climate. Having said that perhaps a little more warm to hot climate style advice wouldn’t go astray, we see a lot of very questionable style here in the hot weather. Warsaw, Poland. Cold, fairly cold for 8-9 months, dry and hot for 3 - 4 months of summer (due to the thin air and burning sun, not really due to a very high temperature). If summer is above 30 you feel like on Sahara desert.

Hi Lydia, I’m 59 and live in Hawaii 🌴. It’s humid and 70-90 (F) year round so mostly just Tshirts. The culture here is veeeerrry casual. We also have the famous red dirt so I don’t wear much white and shoes just get ruined quickly. I prefer to wear classic pieces but style them a bit more edgy.
