I think s notebook is a good idea.. She can even write down her thoughts with products she tests out further off camera. And what products she used like a foundation.. Maybe it performed better with a different primer never know. Wonderful idea you have there ^_^
I have an idea for 2018 - start 3 bins for keep, give and trash. When you do your "Let's Test" videos, you could tell us at the end which bin the product should be in and give it a toss into a bin. Just a thought :)
OK, how about this - Keep, Donate, or Test. The test bin can be the things that she'd like to test a bit more before deciding. Does that make you happier, ifloetic?
To “me” this sounds more like organising, not decluttering. foundations have shelf life between 6m to 2 years. I think having that in mind would help you get rid of more foundations. When you declutter based on what you like only, you always end up with too much.
Does anyone else just love cleaning videos? Like not even just decluttering. Like you love watching people scrub and sweep and clean? It gets me so pumped and motivated.
I don’t think just because you liked it means you should keep it. You should keep them if you constantly reach for it because just keeping them because you liked it doesn’t help you declutter, it just adds more foundation you never use
Hi Cassie! I think it would be fun to do a retry or a follow up video on your most loved foundations! Kind of like Taylor from Thataylaaa does during her 15 days of foundations?
I guess if you look at the big picture you are getting rid of about half your stash, but dang, why do you need to keep 40 foundations? Just keep a handful, or maybe a dozen, that you consider HG status and call it a day. That’s just a ton of foundation you’ll probably never get through.
That pile wasn't just foundations, that was all of the categories she did across both videos. It's still a lot, but some of the stuff she kept for display purposes, and it's the stuff she'll still use.
She isn't the average consumer, a lot of those are going to be new reviews, some are holy grails and she will use, and then some are for reference purposes(because she is a beauty channel) so she will most likely get through a lot and give away the rest. I guess if you look at more of the details you will see that.
Cassie - just because you like something or remember liking it doesn’t mean you need it if you have 40 other foundations, some of which you like more. I think you should give this another try. At the rate you’re going you could almost wear a new foundation every week of the year and no one needs that, even if you liked it the one time you’d tried it.
I’m not trying to hate on Cassie, I love her videos! I’m just saying she was trying to clean out her collection and it seemed like she was keeping things that she kinda remembered liking, not holy grail products. That’s all :))
I think so too like maybe she can do another de clutter. Because after you get all the foundations that are expired and didn't work for you/didn't like as much, she can take a closer look at the foundations she actually likes (minus the ones she'll test). And maybe it won't seem so overwhelming & she can make room for more products to test ^_^ I love these declutter videos & it makes me want to think of doing some of my own decluttering ^_^
I find it refreshing that you don’t remember how you feel about every foundation. I always wonder how other youtubers remember specifics about a large quantity of products.
I like seeing your destashes, I am going to be constructively judgy with your foundation keep piles. You tend to get a lot to try out and you love them or you want to try them again, however, you only have so many days of the year and will tend to waste more of the ones you love just out of lack of time before new ones come out. How about save about 2 of your absolute to die for foundations and give the other ones to people around you to enjoy (most friends would appreciate a good product and don't normally have 30 others to test out either) Also, get yourself some labeled boxes and sort them, tried and need to donate, need to try in summer, need to try in winter, and then it might make these destashes a little more easy. Your current piles seemed a bit of an overload. Im not trying to be a snot, you may have this system in place and you just have not shown it... I dunno, but your mind set needs to switch from frugal to business, the make up is your job , keep the best of the best and get rid of the rest.
I'd suggest getting a notebook or two and start writing down your thoughts on products. It'd also be a good way to make a list of what you have and need to review. Also some people put the products they want to test in a separate area sooo maybe that'd help if possible. That way they don't get lost in the void of foundations.
I know some people said this on your last video, but I REALLY hope that you start doing full face first impressions this year rather than single products. I really don't think its necessary to do single products, and you have so much you want to test this year and thats not even accounting for all of the new upcoming releases. If you keep doing single products, you'll keep pushing back the things you have for new releases and never get through them.
It can be difficult to tell which products you like when doing an entire full face, because if the primer is bad then the foundation can seem bad too. The foundation might be awesome over the right primer. I think would might be better to do one new products from each area (eyes, brows, face, lIps, lashes). This would get you 4-5 new products at a time with some controls. :)
Hey @thriftthick it seems like it would be best if you kept an excell spread sheet of your thought on products (especially foundations) maybe - product name, PAWS category ratings and standout features etc :-) (eg poor shade selection, better for dry skin, etc)
These two parts were fun to watch! I’m so happy I got to see these declutters and look forward to seeing more! ❤️ Decluttering is a journey. It’s not a one and done type thing. You did great. I have a lot of foundations that I keep to eventually try and I don’t even review. 😂 It’s a process! ❤️
I am really glad I found your channel! As of late I have been getting a bit turned off of the bigger Hollywood style beauty gurus and it's so super refreshing to find someone that is the everyday person! Keep up the great work!!
Girl I love your videos and this was a great declutter. Just a few suggestions though that might help: go to the dollar tree and get some bins, label them keep, to try and give away and as soon as you try them or get them put them in the correct bin. Also if you love the foundations keep them. If you keep 20 that you "might" use all the ones u actually love will expire then you will feel worse throwing those ones out. Maybe also while you are going to the dt get some colored flea market sale stickers that come in diff colors and put them on the products so u know when u declutter which ones to keep and toss and get a notebook and write down notes on the product after you review them. I love your videos cassie and I just wanted to leave some suggestions that might make it alittle easier for you...
Cassie I found the missha m bb cream through one of your videos and it’s now holy grail for me. I NEVER repurchase foundation because I’ve never found one I like enough. However I’m now halfway through my second tube of the BB cream and have bought it for my sister and best friend, it’s the only ‘foundation’ I’ve found that works on my extremely dry skin!
I love declutter videos. What about if you used little sticky notes or bins after testing items. You could keep track of the date and your thoughts on them. Or a notebook maybe?
Cassie! Thank you for your videos! In this one you actually did a great job! 👍👏 Do more declutters, please! What about about blush and eyeshadow categories? 😊
You have probably already heard... But have you seen project beauty share? You can mail them used makeup and they will give it to women in transition, who would love the luxury of beauty and the necessity of feeling good... For the friends and family pile, if they dont claim it all. I love you and love watching all of your channels.
i don't entirely know if you understand the point of 'declutter' videos. i feel like you now need to do a second destash because you kept so much of everything!! the ones meant for testing, fine, i understand, but why do you need to keep so many. 'I remember liking the rimmel stay matte around my nose and'... well, do you have other foundations where you dont have to worry about that problem? throw it away! and if you dont immediately remember your reaction to it, and liking it a lot, then that probably means it was 'just good' for you, and you don't need to keep it, either...
my comment wasn't very heavy? i was just trying to offer some insight. i know declutters can be hard when you're in the midst of things because you bought things with your own money, or they were given to her by subscribers and it feels bad to 'throw away' a gift someone gave you. but there's no world where she'll use all that foundation before it goes bad-- if it hasn't gone off already. most foundations only last 6 months, and there's no way all of these are that recently purchased.
Yikes your comment "wasn't heavy", yet you felt a need to be condescending as if Cassie doesn't "understand" something and you had to offer your oh so valuable insight. I'm sure she understands how decluttering works just fine lol. I get what you're saying, but Idk your Op just came off as rude
Like seeing these types of videos. I am an oily skin glasses gal too. Would love to see a video of your holy grail products at the moment for mostly moisturizer/sunblock and foundation/powder that keep you as matte as possible.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the Smashbox Primer water and to Coty Airspun powder. You should do a couple of full face of first impressions videos. That way you can try multiple products in one video.
It makes sense for you to keep things so you can compare them with other products down the line. You should be proud of how much you are letting go of. 👏🏻
Cassie you need to keep a notebook with yes, no, maybe on makeup items with notes on why to reference back to after each time try new products. It'll make purging easier plus it's a great future reference.
Girl. This is insane haha. I think with just HOW MUCH you are constantly getting you might wanna advise your subs to stop sending you makeup. Only because that just adds to the pressure to review those things when they easily get lost in the shuffle as well as clearly not needing people to send you anything anymore as you have more than you can handle. Just a thought to help keep your head above water with all this stuff!
Would it make life easier to write your thoughts onto a sticky note and attaching it to the product tried? Or perhaps store them in some labelled bins, like "Test", "Try again", Give away", "Mix with others", "Keep", etc?
Lynette Hannan I saw in one of her videos where she included sample packets, and she had attached sticky notes with her thoughts about the product. She should do that with full size products, too!
Cassie, I have been watching you for a couple of years, and really, really enjoy your videos. My favorites are Best and Worst of Beauty, your empties, and Sephora Play unboxings! You should be proud of your declutterings! But I agree with those who have made organizational suggestions, plus I have an additional suggestion that will probably get me a lot of hate, but here goes. I think you should stop accepting makeup from your viewers. For their hard-earned money to potentially go to waste or to people they don't know is unfair to them. I know you and others may disagree, and that's fine. It's just a suggestion, to do with as you will. Thank you for your hard work, and I'm looking forward to more decluttering videos!
**IDEA** get a bin for all of the products that you need to try out still and start a series where you close your eyes and reach into the bin for a random product and try it out for that episode!
I would love to hear your thoughts on the IT Cosmetics CC Cream. I also would like to see the Givenchy foundation because expensive af, lol. Love you, Cassie!
Watching this makes me think you should have bins 1)favs 2)test never used 3)didn't like 4)needs more test 5)like not love 6)seasonal like Have bins like that for each category that way when you go through you'll see what you need to try and what didn't make the cut so this might be easier in the future.
Good job lady!!! This must have been a ton of work but you did it! Yay! I’ve noticed a big RUclips thing lately is to “pan” makeup. I bet you could do some awesome “panning projects” with this stuff! Also - some of your comments are weirdly harsh. I don’t see so many of those harsh ones on other RUclips channels 😕. But take heart! You’re doing you and that’s beautiful!
Do the people commenting "No one needs X amount of foundations" not realize this is her job? She reviews this stuff for a living and even hanging on to ones you hate is still useful for swatches/shade reference.
You should do a project wear with foundation!! Wear one till it runs out then give a review! That way you won’t waste them and they won s pire🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺 love your videos!
Angela I think bins would help a lot too. Especially a review bin. It would be so easy for her to grab a new one to film when she's about to get ready instead of them getting lost in the makeup drawers.
I gotta say, I don't understand a lot of the comments wherein people are saying you're not a "good declutterer". :/... You went through a couple sections of your makeup, sorted out what you wanted and what you didn't, and brought us along for the ride, telling why you were decluttering, etc. How the heck do you do a declutter better than that...? Are these comments referring to the Great RUclips Rules In The Sky, or something? Sigh... Great job, Cassie. Love ya.
leatherandjade Agree... Plus she might not get a lot of PR yet... I hate wasting my money and like she said ..some foundations look good due to weather(cold, hot, humidity)
Please test out the Max Factor one! I have been waiting for it ever since you bought it!!! Also please test out the Balm because I am a massive The Balm fan.
You should test the Ordinary foundation! I️ love it. I️ have a normal skin type and I️ think it looks great and wears nicely. I️ have red hyperpigmentation from post acne and it covers it pretty good. Prior I was using the Huda beauty foundation which had a tad bit more coverage but definitely looks heavier on the skin. Before setting it looks really glowy but it simmer down. At least for me anyway! Would love to see it perform on someone more oily 👀☺️ hope you like it as much as I️ do!!!!! 💕💁🏻
Would you be able to try the it cosmetics CC cream soon? Everyone I see it on it looks amazing! But I'm curious to see how it looks on oily skin! Also proud of you Cassie I literally just cleaned out my makeup and you did way better than I did :P
You did so good!! It's always hard for me to declutter products because I feel like I need to give them a second (or third, or fourth, or tenth 😂) chance. That's awesome that you got rid of about half of your collection 👏
Hi! Love the channel! What foundation would you recommend that's sheer to medium coverage, for a skin type like yours? One that'll stay all day and look natural? Thank you in advance and keep up the great work! ❤❤
Hey Cassie, would you mind doing it cosmetics cc+ foundation? Really interested in this one, heard many good reviews, but is it really that good? Need your testing🤗 thank youuuu
The kitties are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute!!! Wow, what a lot to declutter lol lol Good job girl of getting rid of a good bit of it lol Thanks for sharing!!
I feel like you could do a "Foundation February" situation...make most or all of your videos strictly about those foundations, clear that backlog and make room for future stuff! Or even a "First Impression February" to get through even MORE stuff you haven't tried!
You may already do this, but you should keep a log of the makeup products you review in a notebook! Then you’d have somewhere to look at. Love your videos, I feel like we’re buds 🖤
You did a great job! I would really like to see you test the UD Naked, It Cosmetics CC cream, the Smashbox primerizer, & the Coty powder. You are fabulous, sweet & beautiful! Much love from Canada!
Cassie, try naked skin in incorrect shade but from sample. why to open correct shade for 1 use? give something new to your friends or whoever wants it. And max factor in a tube just needs to be shaken.
Cassie, I recommend you use those color circle stickers as guide. Red for those you hated, green for those you like, yellow for those you want to try more and blue for those you have not used. Love you!
Good girl Cassie but use your Estée Lauder I adore it you know I have used double wear all my adult life but maybe next winter try Estée Lauder perfectionist youth infusing foundation it has a serum in it , I just love love it !
You did a great job! Feel proud! It sounds like you need a system, though - for keeping "to test" products somewhere you won't forget about them, separate from your actual make-up, and a written log of results from tests and what you plan to test going forward. I know some RUclipsrs like BohoBerry are big into bullet journaling, but even just a simple planner/notebook might be enough. It would probably help you feel more in control of things. Either way, I hope you do get to test out all those products 'cause that means more videos! Yay! (You could probably test multiple things together that wouldn't affect the outcome, like foundation and lipstick?)
Hello Cassie... have you thought about sorting produces as you go. May make the process easier for you were you forget.. just a thought.... love from Canada..👍🙂
Try to avoid drying alcohols specially denatured alcohol .like in the loreal and revlon foundation it can actually cause acne! The denatured is especially harmful for the skin.
Cassie, you should keep a notebook on your thoughts of products. That would really help you out later.
I think Tati does that too
Stephanie M good idea!
Or she can just review her video and physically see it again in video
I think s notebook is a good idea.. She can even write down her thoughts with products she tests out further off camera. And what products she used like a foundation.. Maybe it performed better with a different primer never know. Wonderful idea you have there ^_^
Damn girl, you have a major backlog of products there! That's like a year worth of foundations to test!!
I have an idea for 2018 - start 3 bins for keep, give and trash. When you do your "Let's Test" videos, you could tell us at the end which bin the product should be in and give it a toss into a bin. Just a thought :)
Bobette McCann this is such a cute idea I love it
two bins cause why would she throw away a product that she's just tested
OK, how about this - Keep, Donate, or Test. The test bin can be the things that she'd like to test a bit more before deciding. Does that make you happier, ifloetic?
To “me” this sounds more like organising, not decluttering. foundations have shelf life between 6m to 2 years. I think having that in mind would help you get rid of more foundations. When you declutter based on what you like only, you always end up with too much.
Are you planning on doing an organizational video on how you keep on top of your makeup collection? I’d love to see that.
Girl....you gotta keep notes 😘
Does anyone else just love cleaning videos? Like not even just decluttering. Like you love watching people scrub and sweep and clean? It gets me so pumped and motivated.
I don’t think just because you liked it means you should keep it. You should keep them if you constantly reach for it because just keeping them because you liked it doesn’t help you declutter, it just adds more foundation you never use
gerdwoy she obviously got rid of alot. She can easily put the remaining foundations in her rotation now that it's not so overwhelming.
*gets rid of dermablend foundation cause too dark but keeps nyx white foundation mixer* ...
That’s just a ton of foundation you’ll probably never get through.
sarajosully A lot of them she plans to test for review videos, or are better for summer or winter.
That pile wasn't just foundations, that was all of the categories she did across both videos. It's still a lot, but some of the stuff she kept for display purposes, and it's the stuff she'll still use.
So?
Well she isn't a typical consumer. She has a makeup channel
She isn't the average consumer, a lot of those are going to be new reviews, some are holy grails and she will use, and then some are for reference purposes(because she is a beauty channel) so she will most likely get through a lot and give away the rest. At the rate you’re going you could almost wear a new foundation every week of the year and no one needs that, even if you liked it the one time you’d tried it.
abby rose Having a massive collection goes hand in hand with the job
Not all 40 of those foundations were for her everyday collection some of it was for testing/further testing which is her job.
I’m not trying to hate on Cassie, I love her videos! I’m just saying she was trying to clean out her collection and it seemed like she was keeping things that she kinda remembered liking, not holy grail products. That’s all :))

I find it refreshing that you don’t remember how you feel about every foundation. I always wonder how other youtubers remember specifics about a large quantity of products.
You need a spreadsheet! Says the nerd who loves information 🤓😂
Then you could record your feelings and check it quarterly.
Ps, be nice to yourself!! You did great!
I like seeing your destashes, I am going to be constructively judgy with your foundation keep piles. Well said. 👌 ☺
Cassie! As a suggestion, maybe you can do a full week of foundation reviews! Try a new foundation everyday for a full week
I love foundation!! So this video is right up my alley!!! I could watch different variations of these all day long!!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I'd suggest getting a notebook or two and start writing down your thoughts on products. It'd also be a good way to make a list of what you have and need to review. 'let's do this like jam beauty' yeesss shoutout to the decluttering queen there

Max factor is going to come back to the USA, so if the makeup goes bad, you’ll be able to find it at ulta at some point.
Cassie I found the missha m bb cream through one of your videos and it’s now holy grail for me. I NEVER repurchase foundation because I’ve never found one I like enough. Not every declutter has to be some ruthless minimalist megapurge, lighten up
my comment wasn't very heavy? i was just trying to offer some insight. i know declutters can be hard when you're in the midst of things because you bought things with your own money, or they were given to her by subscribers and it feels bad to 'throw away' a gift someone gave you. but there's no world where she'll use all that foundation before it goes bad-- if it hasn't gone off already. most foundations only last 6 months, and there's no way all of these are that recently purchased.

Well said. I was thinking the same thing. So many of those will go bad before she ever gets through them. It's not like powders that last longer.
Yes!! These are the exact two I’d like to see. I actually love them both, but would like to hear Cassie’s opinion.
I second the Coty powder!
Yes to all of this!
Airspun works good that's what I use but it can def cling to extreme dry patches.
but some products don’t correspond w others, so she could have an bad review on a good product
Omg I thought she didn't like the fenty beauty foundation!? I'm so glad she kept it because it's honestly my holy grail foundation right now!
NO ONE NEEDS 30+ FOUNDATIONS 😂
It makes sense for you to keep things so you can compare them with other products down the line. You should be proud of how much you are letting go of. 👏🏻
Decluttering videos are my favorite!!
Im showing this video to my mom the next time she shames me for having too much makeup.
Dancing in the rain my boyfriend likes Cassie, and I'm going to show this video to him, too, so he doesn't think my collection is too much!
hi Cassie, I can tell you that that Givenchy foundation is wonderful, I love it.
I’m a product junky I couldn’t get rid of anything lol I envy anyone who can!!! Makeup hoarder 101!
i really need to do this. again. i swear i have no idea where all my makeup comes from, it just multiples!
You need kitty paw stickers to put on your foundations so you remember how you liked it.
Girl you need a tracking list of how you felt about each one you tried so you know if you should pass it on. I'm sure I couldn't remember either.
try baking with the coty airspun powder!! i have oily skin and i bake with it everyday it’s amazing!!!
Cassie you need to keep a notebook with yes, no, maybe on makeup items with notes on why to reference back to after each time try new products. It'll make purging easier plus it's a great future reference.
Bruh you neeeeeeddd binnnnnnnns 😂😂🤦🏻♀️

I’d love to see reviews on the Coty airspun powder and Paula’s choice primer!
Maybe consider doing multiple first impressions in the one video?
Would it make life easier to write your thoughts onto a sticky note and attaching it to the product tried? Or perhaps store them in some labelled bins, like "Test", "Try again", Give away", "Mix with others", "Keep", etc?

**IDEA** get a bin for all of the products that you need to try out still and start a series where you close your eyes and reach into the bin for a random product and try it out for that episode!
I would love to hear your thoughts on the IT Cosmetics CC Cream. I also would like to see the Givenchy foundation because expensive af, lol. Love you, Cassie!
Watching this makes me think you should have bins
1)favs
2)test never used
3)didn't like
4)needs more test
5)like not love
6)seasonal like
Have bins like that for each category that way when you go through you'll see what you need to try and what didn't make the cut so this might be easier in the future.
You’re the cutest beauty guru!!! I love you ❤️
Good job lady!!!
Aww..He is your little 'supervisor' making sure you do everything right, lol
Speaking of Missha, you should try their BB cushion foundation.
Maybe some bins to organize that stuff would help out. “Give away”, “love”, “test”.
Angela I think bins would help a lot too. Especially a review bin. It would be so easy for her to grab a new one to film when she's about to get ready instead of them getting lost in the makeup drawers.
Cassie, loved this!! Also, did I hear you say that you will be making a "how I did my makeup in highschool" ?! Ah can't wait!!
Almay Smart Shade is my holy grail, but I'm only oily in my T zone. It stays well if set with the Coty powder, though! Maybe a dual first impression?
Love your enthusiasm! Great video Cassie!,
I gotta say, I don't understand a lot of the comments wherein people are saying you're not a "good declutterer". Love ya.
leatherandjade
Agree...
I would love to see a review on the Naked Skin and Givenchy foundations! :)
An idea if to keep maybes and use them on a vacation and throw away when you're ready to go home.
Now... eyeshadows, blush, bronzer, contour and etc. Even the pallets. Now that’s hard for me.
Cassie, can you test out Beauty Bakerie products? I would love to hear your thoughts on them 😊
The kitties are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute!!!
Wow, what a lot to declutter lol lol
Good job girl of getting rid of a good bit of it lol
Thanks for sharing!!
I feel like you could do a "Foundation February" situation...make most or all of your videos strictly about those foundations, clear that backlog and make room for future stuff! Or even a "First Impression February" to get through even MORE stuff you haven't tried!
Jam beauty is brutal with decluttering, I love when my fav youtubers mention my other fav youtubers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm excited to see the wet And wild cushion
You may already do this, but you should keep a log of the makeup products you review in a notebook! Then you’d have somewhere to look at. Love your videos, I feel like we’re buds 🖤
the ordinary foundation broke my daughter out in heat bumps imo - would like to see review on the balm foundation
Make a poll on youtube so we can vote what you could test first!
You did a great job! I would really like to see you test the UD Naked, It Cosmetics CC cream, the Smashbox primerizer, & the Coty powder. You are fabulous, sweet & beautiful! Much love from Canada!
Sorry, nevermind about the It Cosmetics CC cream. :)
Excellent declutter - love it! BTW, you are really beautiful.
Good job Cassie!!
I would like to see you review the coty airspun, the balm foundation, the wet and wild cushion foundation.
Emily MacIsaac yes to the balm foundation, i want to see that also ...
I would love to see if the bb flawless from Younique is worth buying.
I wanna see you test the CC+ cream and the Estée Lauder double wear light!!! Pls pls pls
Cassie, try naked skin in incorrect shade but from sample. why to open correct shade for 1 use? give something new to your friends or whoever wants it. And max factor in a tube just needs to be shaken.
Great job pretty lady! You made such progress in this declutter- woo hoo! What a great way to kick off the new year! 👍🏻😁❤️
I know it has been around for a while but I would like to see your review of the Naked Skin foundation.
Try setting up some bins in your area somewhere and mark them as "dislike" and "meh". I keep notes, in a word document, about my thoughts as I test.
I dunno if anyone has pointed this out or not, but you did a review on the It Cosmetics CC cream. It was the first video of yours that I watched. :)
Coty airspun and double wear light 😊
Cassie, please please please try the Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder!
Hello Cassie... have you thought about sorting produces as you go. May make the process easier for you were you forget.. just a thought.... love from Canada..👍🙂
Would love to see your thoughts on it cosmetics CC cream!
Good job Cassie!! Oh I've also become a honorary family member and my bday is Saturday Jan 13 so just send all that stuff to sister Macki LOL
Try to avoid drying alcohols specially denatured alcohol .like in the loreal and revlon foundation it can actually cause acne! The denatured is especially harmful for the skin.
