Oh I’m so glad I found this video. The gas springs on mine are worn out and I thought I would have to grind off the rivets at each end of the strut to replace them. They’re also in a narrow part of the channel, making it even harder to remove them, then I would have to get a rivet tool to fasten each end of the strut. Now I see the secret to doing this I would just like to know how you tightened the the springs without damaging them as you used a pair of channel locks to remove them. So how do you tighten the smooth metal part without damaging it?
Thanks for this video... our new to us motorhome with a Carefree awning is needing a bit of help to get going on the extend...I'm guessing it's the 2 gas springs. Now I've seen the procedure I'm not as concerned about doing it ourselves.
