Today marks 5 years since I let go of our only son. 4 years before that, I sat beside his hospital bed for 73 days... never went home. When they said he was dying, I went into a bathroom stall and cried, threw up, begged and then... I let go.. to my will, my desires ... I let go. God raised him up and gave us four more years. And when I held him as he passed from me to God.. I remained intact... I remained Christ’s. I miss him, he was 38...but I will see him again🙏🏼❤️

I know right? I am here at work holding back tears myself because I have been feeling bad about letting go in my situation and the truth is...the season for this situation has passed. I have to pick up and move forward so I can be who God called me to be.
My oldest has son pushed me out of his life so I will let go. It means that I don't get to see my new grand baby anymore nor enjoy family times as I'd hoped but letting go has brought me such blessings of giving love and receiving love from others who need til letting go does not hurt as bad as it used to. How letting go is a thing for me…divorced (by choice) empty nester of 3 millennials & a decision to relocate to move closer to my mom - changing jobs in my mid fifties… I will trust God for my “when.” ❤️

In recent years, we'd started to drift apart (interests, etc.). Finally, last July, my friend called it quits via a long text message. Wow ...... one more person/situation that I lost during the whole covid craziness. Also, unless I've misread your body language, it seemed to be an emotional challenge for you to talk about "letting go" of your son to college. My mom is blind(its even hard to type that) This year has been the year I needed to let go of the fact that she will not ever have her vision back. It took me a minute to see how this applies to me... but there are clothes and all type of clutter I need to let go of.... I also need to let go of the old version of myself and previous mistakes I've made... this was more for me than I originally anticipated.... I want to let go to be able to grab hold of to where God is calling me to, to recieve whats next... so that means letting go of unnecessary weights & clutter & reevaluating boundaries in relationships.
