@@Rookmai This is bad advice especially for new modders first thing you shouldn't be relying on LOOT to sort your load order. Use xedit to find conflicts which is very easy to do then sort manually.
@@kertgp8275brother, I have 2400 plugins, I HAVE to rely on loot for sorting. Besides, it works just fine, only a couple mods require manual sorting in my case.
@@kertgp8275 That's why I said 'IF' mo2 users can obviously sort manually. But Vortex users can use loot just fine with changes to the mod's load order metadata.
For anyone having trouble with getting northern roads to work I highly recommend you to try simplest roads. Its a new mod from this year and it will come very close to the northern roads visuals in many areas but is ten times easier to implement even with a large load order since it does not change any meshes or world spaces and basically just applies your dirt texture to the road.
That actually sounds solid. I like Northern Roads add on that removes the ground edits but keeps bridges and nick knacks that were added that don't edit the terrain.
@@TheSixoul If anyone's reading this in the future and searching for this mod, I believe it's "Northern Roads - Let Me Guess, Someone Stole Your Sweetroads." (That sounds madeup, but I'm pretty sure that's the mod in question. xD)
Alternate Start: Live Another Life, SkyUI, True Directional Movement & Ultrawide fixes for SKSE are 4 mods i can't touch Skyrim without. Its 2024, Bethesda games need actual Ultrawide support without needed mods.
You forgot Papyrus Tweaks, PowerofThree, SPID, BOS, etc - but these were not added on purpose as SG said at the start. But yes, you're right that you can't get far modding the game without these.
This video was perfect timing as I am putting the finishing touches on my first pretty decent sized Skyrim mod list of 250 mods. First time modding in animations and an enb (Nat 3) was pretty cool as well!
You should create a wabbajack list or two as a companion for these videos, so noobs can easily get the 'softgaming' skyrim experience without being overwhelmed. I've been avoiding Skyrim VR for awhile because the modding is 'too hard' (i.e. I'm too lazy). The best would be a wabbajack list which keeps the original 'feel' of skyrim (i.e. dark and gloomy, not turned into a bright fairyland) but updated graphics, updated melee combat to make it more accurate, updated ui, etc. In other words, it just updates to 2024 but maintains the skyrimness. The existing wbbajack lists all go too far and make Skyrim ungloomy and bright and have outlandish stuff, such as making the bodies go flying like in a Matrix movie.
my favorite visual mod has to be slightly bigger trees, it's such a simple thing to make the trees about 50% bigger but forests look so much better with it+ it has no performance impact
Triumvirate - Magic Archetypes Proteus - Huge potential, but I've had terrible luck making it work in my playthroughs. But it has the ability for you to combine several of your characters into one playthrough. So you could have a party of your other characters as followers, then actually switch between them at will and play as them in one playthrough!
A simple mod which pairs very well with any animation mod, called PC Headtracking and Voice. Your dragonborn turns their head automatically to look at whoever is speaking or something interesting rather than standing like a stuffed dummy. The voice part enables them to say general things to others, automatically, such as Good Morning, or May I help you? You can import voices of your choice. It gives my dragonborn her own personality without input from me.
Using the Vigilant mod was the playthrough that made me try Dark Souls and I absolutely recommend trying it out. Also install all the update mods for it that gives it voiced lines and better textures.
Another great show case SG. I noticed you skipped NPC replacers, understandably and Environment mods. But they are so subjective, so perhaps a vid for the future :) I think you could have added a skin texture (Tempered Skin) and one of the skill book pick up replacers (Non-Auto Skill Books). One makes the NPCs match the updated looks of new armors and the other helps a lot with late game skill building. Still very subjective though.
I had it installed on a couple of play-throughs. It was fun for the first time, the second time its quests became really annoying. Even more annoying was the urge to collect all junk it creates. Uninstalling it was quite a liberating experience for me - you just play your character w/o ever thinking about museum, collections, etc.
I have used it, it's tedious and boring to me. It's adds too much junk too. Removing it from my modlist felt great. I'm sure it's an amazing mod, it wouldn't be so popular if people didn't enjoy it, but it's really not for me. Its comprehensive nature and overwhelming number of addition actually lessen my immersion, and makes Skyrim feel more like a collectible journey than a universe you can live in. It gamifies the collecting too much.
See I didn’t even know that LOTDB added stuff I thought it was just a museum for all the existing things in Skyrim I never had a proper place for. I would have preferred it more that way as well.
For those who love immersion I highly recommend Honned metal. Yes you could very well craft atuff yourself but sometimes ita fun to play as a halfwit who can't make enchants or a weakling who cant lift a hammer. Though I want a mod that sets up a time limit on wait and sleep time so your forced to bum around a city while you get your sword sharpened
Honestly I wish someone ould do something like LAL or Alternate Perspective mixed with dealing with backstories. LAL is my go to cause it gives you a small sliver of backstory but if it could be fleshed out would be awesome.
true directional movement is simply the goat for me, the most revolutional mod to ever exist. combine it with true hud and it feels like im playing a different game
There's a known bug with SmoothCam 1.7 on the latest AE causing sprint attack camera jitters and FOV issues. How did you (or anyone here) get around this? Are you guys using a backported version of Skyrim?
Just to add. Better third person selection is not stable. The skse is heavy and unstable, cause freeze every several hours of gameplay. There are lots of people complaining this on the mod forum and discussion. I myself encounter freeze every several hours after using this mod. Another mention is detection meter with similar issue.
@@SoftGamingOfficial so this video is your favourite mods of all time, come on how you going to make a video of greatest mods and not include THE best follower mods 😉

How's everybody making their spells look so cool with the runes and stuff? I have yet to find any good mods that enhance the magic visually but I'm also kind of a noob lol
A mod that was a staple in my LO for a long time was Convenient Horses. I believe there is a newer mod that does the same. I am one of the few people that are vehemently opposed to SDA Lore reasons. Over-all, a great list 👍
I hate the true directional thing, I feel that locking into targets makes me lose that feel of being in actual control of the character or that need to aim every skill and arrow. But I love the effect that you do everytime you hit someone, that slash with blood when the weapon makes contact with the enemy. Anyone knows the name of that mod?
