I tried each of these in the past year, and then chose Any.do as the one that fits my work life. For me, the calendar view is extremely helpful as it means I don’t have to check our organization calendar separately. It integrates all my calendars in one place, which really helps in my planning. Currently I need to work from four calendars. Any.do makes that a breeze. Quick tasks or long term projects fit equally well into their set up. It’s amazing. I did pay for the Pro version and have no buyer’s remorse. I love that I can drag tasks to quickly rearrange my day or reschedule tasks. Super well designed app if you have a busy life and need both short term and long term planning. Yes, I could do without the grocery list. Alexa takes care of that by voice and displays on my phone when I’m shopping.
I'm a Things user. Not gonna lie, paying for each platform was painful (really wish iOS and iPadOS were a single purchase). But after that, I just use it and it works really well. I love how I can organize items by heading, and leverage checklists within a to-do (yeah, it might sound dumb until you realize how useful it is). Thanks for another terrific video, Chris!
I use Todoist.. because I can add comments to my actions.. I use that area for progress updates on the task ect. I also like the karma feature that gives you points for completing things & lose points for not logging in & engaging. The design is my least favorite. They are constantly updating it so I don’t mind the subscription as much. I try to do the little tasks with apple reminders and save the big projects for Todoist.
Hi Chris, I love Things but it has one major setback: No web client so it can’t be used on non-Apple devices. I need an app that I can also use on a Windows Office PC so I went for Todoist. Love your video’s by the way!
I’ve been through Todoist and Any.do and in both cases I ended up coming back to Things 3. You just can’t beat the minimalist interface and user experience. Pricey though if you’re using across iPad/Mac/iPhone!
Things 3 is absolutely awesome! You recommended the app a while ago and I am using it on a daily base since then! I like this series and look forward to a comparison of agendas! Would be great! Cheers!
Because I do home inspections, I use the built in Apple calendar, syncs across all devices and I can tap on the address and it takes me straight to the Maps app. I use the Reminders app for family access, so items can be added to the grocery list when it is thought about.
Things looks nice but has a stealth subscription by charging per device and you'll have to pay up again when Things 4 comes along. For now I'm going with the todoist app, I don't need the premium features in my workflow & the free version is still packed with goodies. Also I can access todoist at work on my windows laptop either in a dedicated app or a chrome plugin.
Not tell you how to do your show but it also would be nice if you would let people know the cost. Like things 3 you have to pay for the iPhone app, then pay for the Apple Watch app then pay for the iPad app and then pay for the Mac app so to have it on all four it’s over $100
-Like the series? -YES -What do I wanna see next? -THAT STACHE SHAVEN -jk. not really. but a best camera apps list would be nice. I’ve tried Kamera-M, Halide, Optika and bunch of the not-design-first kind of apps. There’s also Obscura but haven’t tried it. Even though I’ve tried a bunch, I think that would be interesting to many.
I think by far Things 3 is the best especially given how it's not on a subscription-based model. Plus the Apple Watch complication is a beast!! Though including the native apple reminders app would've been nice to include since it technically passes all the rules too. Awesome vid!! Was definitely looking for something like it, much appreciated!
Does Things 3 on Apple Watch requires the iPhone to be around it? I heard you can't create or complete a task if your iPhone is out of range in Todois.
You could’ve just used the reminders app then. Cause of course the ones on the App Store will try to do, and any productivity app should help you improve on your productivity, which the evaluations help you to do so.
I use ToDoist but with the blue app vs red, since you can change it. Things I would never use just because of the ridiculous price. Charge me once, fine but not 3 separate prices per platform. Reminders hasn’t worked on any of my devices since the iOS 13 update. 2Do I use to use but yes it is a little busy. But mostly I just got bored with the look and wanted something brighter.
Can you suggest UP Next features why Apple removed in ios14.. it was there in iOS 13 and very much helpful liek i can see my nest alarm upcoming events
I don't mind paying for an app, and I don't mind paying when there is a significant upgrade to an app. I can't stand subscription models Because 1. It's like renting the app and 2. The so called updates they promise tend to be minor and far between.
You have probably overlooked a flaw with Things 3. How is a task for later today isn’t part of ‘Upcoming’ list? Have you observed that this way now you need to have two separate widgets on your iPhone Home Screen - one to look at “Today” and another to look at ‘Upcoming’? This problem doesn’t exist with Todoist. Also other than ToDoist and Tick Tick being cross platform (Android by the way has done better job with widgets - For example you can Change view from “Today” list to “upcoming “ list right on widget - with two clicks you can change the list, Filter by tag etc on Android whereas on iOS changing from “Today” to Upcoming on the widget takes a long press and two other clicks). So with Things widgets, I need to open the full app to see whether there is any task listed for few days later that I can bring to Today list.
Cool! Your top two were probably my top two, and I love finding out about new apps, and seeing wether they could be useful to me. Have I seen anything to replace my current IOS Reminders and Calendar apps that are an extension to my bullet journal? Prob not.
I use an app called Timing. It's more of a time tracking app than a to do app. It does have project setup, sort of a to do list. However it seems that it can't track my time in InDesign 2020 and several other apps. And there is no Apple watch version. So I'm looking for a replacement. Any ideas?
I'm sorry, omnifocus ill like the original major heavy hitter. Omni group (in general) is like one of the top mac software companies. Not even on the list, or the comments.
I am proud of you man. From shooting to editing I know how hard it is to put a video out there. You got this man. I am a huge fan of your dedication. Btw. I am stuck with Habitica. I just love it.
This was a good video and I would like to see more like this. Maybe if you could add a more complete video of the winner that may be good as well. One thing that has been annoying from some reviewers is that they recommend apps or products that they really don’t use. i understand sponsored videos and most disclose that but some have recommended apps and products and when I asked follow up questions they admitted that they don’t even use it.
You missed Ticktick one of the major competitors of Todoist. Secondly, you dont like the subscription but you have no issue with Things super high prices...You should have at least mention that they charge separately for iPhone, ipad and mac apps...and they are super expensive.
I used Things3 for 2 years and Todoist for 6 months before that, but I've switched over to TickTick. Very similar to Todoist but with more features that I care about.
Hi Chris, cool comparisons. I'm wondering why you didn't include Omnifocus in it tho. It's not the best looking app, but it's definitely a solid tasks manager. I've been using Todoist on and off for 4 years and have love/hate relationship with it haha.
"Who Uses Evernote Anymore"?? - I do... every single day - it sits open all day too - with a constant flow of information in and out of it - from simple tasks and information management up to dealing with complex multi million dollar projects!
Hey , I am searching for an app which helps in keeping counts and giving it's statistics, For example -> I want to keep track of Word_Per_Second of my daily typing , and I want the app which helps me get the highest average and lowest WPS of my typing based on my entries ... Can you please help me find one.
Love this idea. I have things and love it. Can you do a video on habits apps? I know you like streaks but I wanna see other options before I have to buy it. I’m currently trying “done” app.
I don’t think these series are any good. You picked a app that cost money and you have to pay for each apple device except the watch. Yet you didn’t like Todoist because it cost money. You will have people going to have a look at things and then get upset because it costs money for each apple device. Really helpful video, Thanks. You should check Restyaboard, the best To-do app I've ever used.
I tried each of these in the past year, and then chose Any.do as the one that fits my work life. Excellent video. I’m a retired empty nester but I’ve still got plenty to do. This video led me to my perfect To Do list app, 2Do. Thanks!
Love TickTick because it’s cross platform
I own Things 3, but it would be awesome to see a video on how to optimize the full potential of this app! :)
I’ve been through Todoist and Any.do and in both cases I ended up coming back to Things 3. You just can’t beat the minimalist interface and user experience. Pricey though if you’re using across iPad/Mac/iPhone!
Main problem with things is it is missing the Basic feature of location based reminders…
Things 3 is absolutely awesome! You recommended the app a while ago and I am using it on a daily base since then! I like this series and look forward to a comparison of agendas! Would be great! Cheers!
Todoist without any doubt!
Because I do home inspections, I use the built in Apple calendar, syncs across all devices and I can tap on the address and it takes me straight to the Maps app. I use the Reminders app for family access, so items can be added to the grocery list when it is thought about.
I have been using Things for the last couple of years - LOVE IT! Thx for your confirmation.
Things looks nice but has a stealth subscription by charging per device and you'll have to pay up again when Things 4 comes along. I personally like this new series, I’ve been wanting to see a video like this for a while. Make some more! 🤙🏽

you didn't focus on mac, just more on iphone and watch! Is things worth it on mac too? or any.do would do the job?
Hey Chris can you cover and identify all apps that are useable across all Apple devices outside of the major apps with out subscriptions .
Loved that video. Would be nice to have on about THE BEST calendar app. Since fantastical is no longer an option (pro subscription....) - i’m lost
Does Things 3 on Apple Watch requires the iPhone to be around it? I heard you can't create or complete a task if your iPhone is out of range in Todois.
Love your systematic approach!

What about OmniFocus?
Need help I been looking for a To-do/reminder app that has sounds when you set a alert? Please help
I like Things 3. I have been using it since you mentioned it in a previous video. Keep up the great work!!
What about Google Tasks ? Integrates with G-Suite
Thnx’s for intel
Should try Restyaboard, the best To-do app I've ever used.

Great series Chris!
How about a similar series covering writing apps and voice to text?
I use for years 2do
I like your RUclips on The subject but things is not in the Apple store. There is things 3 but that cost 9.99 is this the same one you were showing?
Very helpful! Thanks!
And GOODTASK app?
I love this series, what about the reminders app though? it is a "to-do" app
Sagar Patel Compared to almost every other app on the list in this video, Apple Reminders is extremely limited.

Things forever!
MinimaList has a Mac App. But I am using Things for Mac and iPhone

I already have Things but only on my IPhone and IPad.
You missed Ticktick one of the major competitors of Todoist. Secondly, you dont like the subscription but you have no issue with Things super high prices...You should have at least mention that they charge separately for iPhone, ipad and mac apps...and they are super expensive.
Subscriptions add up quickly over time….
Evernote is the best
Hold up, do you recommend against evernote?? What is the note app you use that is not outdated? 😛
Thankx a lot bro for this vis todo lists app is my life ❤️👏
I have things 3 since 2 years and is amazing
I used Things3 for 2 years and Todoist for 6 months before that, but I've switched over to TickTick. Very similar to Todoist but with more features that I care about.
Curious for this as I am a list guy! Hopefully this could help me for my RUclips workflow!!
Perfect timing! I just opened the RUclips app lol
Nice!
Thanks, man! Nice battle-royal. I think I am going to go with google calendar.
What about Nozbe/
Wallpaper link?
is it wrong that I use apple reminder app for my to do list? :)
I do, too. The revision is great! And great on the Watch.
No, your to do app and you should integrate with each other, if you have everything you need to take action in the reminders app, is perfect.
ordnry. zain I use the reminder the same way.
You change the todoist icon color
Just reminders 🙃
If Todoist was priced the same as Things how much would that change it for you?
Why isn't TickTick up here tho? Great Video BTW
You have nothing in your Today list in Things. That’s why the Watch app doesn’t show anything.
I prefer google task
Did you figure out why the watch wasn't syncing?
Nothing had been added to the today folder
DailyTekk 🤦🏾♂️ it’s always the simplest of things...
Can you see about doing a video about MeisterTask vs trello and others
I use Trello a lot but I haven’t made any videos about it cause I want she how many people would be interested
Nice B roll in this one!
Very nice review. My wife and I both use Things since it has a cloud feature and we share and update one another via that feature. We use it daily.
CAN YOU ALWAYS KEEP THE SAME SELECTION CRITERIA - also what about Siri to add task from watch - I love todoist cos it’s built it same with drafts app
Hi Chris, cool comparisons. I'm wondering why you didn't include Omnifocus in it tho. It's not the best looking app, but it's definitely a solid tasks manager.
I've been using Todoist on and off for 4 years and have love/hate relationship with it haha.
That’s pretty much it. I just personally don’t love the design
"Who Uses Evernote Anymore"?? - I do... every single day - it sits open all day too - with a constant flow of information in and out of it - from simple tasks and information management up to dealing with complex multi million dollar projects!
I use Evernote all the time as well. Great app and works so well for creating easy screenshots.
Chris, I hope you do a series on how to use and utilise the native apps like Apple reminders app.
Your phone case is so dope!!!
Hey ,
I am searching for an app which helps in keeping counts and giving it's statistics,
For example -> I want to keep track of Word_Per_Second of my daily typing , and I want the app which helps me get the highest average and lowest WPS of my typing based on my entries ...
Can you please help me find one.
I’m gonna get this apps and a video about them
I use Wunderlist. Very ease to use.
Love this series! Keep 'em coming 👍😊
No Subtasks.....
Love this idea. I have things and love it. Can you do a video on habits apps? I know you like streaks but I wanna see other options before I have to buy it. I’m currently trying “done” app.
Omnifocus !?!
TickTick?
Things costs 11€ :(
You don’t want a grocery list? Are you nuts? Finally done with the notes app!
I don’t think these series are any good.
You picked a app that cost money and you have to pay for each apple device except the watch. Yet you didn’t like Todoist because it cost money. You will have people going to have a look at things and then get upset because it costs money for each apple device.

Too good***
Your growing stache looks like a third eyebrow. I cannot unsee this!
We need to talk about the obvious...
Wow I was bored lol
"I just dont like it" lol okay my man
