Morning Andy, I zero mine by a tinfoil patch on a target. The trick is to tilt the target between 10-to-20-degree angel so it reflects the a different temperature than the ambient background temperature. Great review as always.
Aye them were the days when you could gan out for a night ont beer with a couple of quid your pocket and get rat arsed then by a bag of chips wrapped in newspaper and still have enough money for the bus home.
I remember walking round at night with a small car battery in a wicker fishing basket and a car lamp lol won't mention the time I forgot to put back the under lever on my airsporter let's say my hand hurt for a week after lol ,what you get for rushing for another shot lol
Thumbs up great video. My experience with people that complain they can’t afford something usually is the result of priority’s, poor budgeting and bad spending habits. Those same complainers drive $70k trucks, pay $200 for sporting event tickets and want to party every Friday night.
Love it! good tip[s and advice on the types of "night" scopes I want one!! I have been looking into it for years Its ALLWAYS been out of my price range but this brings it closer to the average user
Great video again, I have just purchased the lesser model (mars) now greatly reduced £399 on eBay from a proper scope seller, it is as you said just as good in the day as it is at dusk/pitch dark… thanks again for the video, I purchased after watching 👍👍
You make so many thanks and comments to vector air in your videos anyone would think you had a vested interest or genuinely personal attachment to them or someone there.
Very good review of both scopes. I have the ATN 4k Pro with the ABL1000, now, the ballistics calculator on that does NOT recognise any pellet below 10 grain making shooting with a .177 a bit of a faff to get right when using the BC. I'm guessing that the BC on the Mars 4 is going to be the same. Just thought I'd point that out to those who shoot .177.
Great job AAR hoping you get more time to test these in the field ATN would be crazy not to extend your review and the public would be better suited to make a purchase in my thinking . Look forward to your reviews .
My ATN has a usb port to recharge the battery and also a backup battery pack can be hooked up if you are way out in the middle of the wilderness and cannot recharge in the morning. I have used a small solar panel to recharge it during the day and shoot all night.
My N/V gear is a Pard nv007 add on to my Hawke scope, & a Hic 19 thermal spotter which hangs around my neck on a lanyard, yes, its probably considered in the budget range......BUT......It all works superbly.
if you need it and it will make the job easier, price is the last thing after you see it work...this was my mantra as a mechanic when I paid a ton of loot for a tool....then i used it and it worked and I forgot how much it cost
I must admit there is no chance I would splash out on high priced optics either night vision or not. However I do love watching reviews of the top stuff and appreciate it's worth to a pro or anyone that wants to spend that. I watch top gear on TV and that is a similar concept loosely compared. I use two veyron's on my rifles, a 4-16x44ffp non ir on my Wildcat MK3 and it's bigger brother the 6-24x44 on my Maverick. They are both lovely, super compact and really well priced, especially with the free mounts from vector air 😉.
Hi man love your stuff I have a question if you would have time to answer please can you shoot a fx impact left handed just noticed the magazine could be in the way cheers
ATN would be on top IF they didn't have the quality issues that they do. I literally purchased and sent back 3 ATN Thor units (U.S. version) all with software and/or hardware issues that could not be resolved. Ultimately I ended up purchasing an AGM thermal and I am quite happy with it.
Ouch 4k for a scope!! However if its your living you'd need the best a bit like snap on tools. Now I'm off to check out what I can find that's on ebay from Russian military issue.
FYI. I believe that currently it is not legal to shoot deer at night in England unless under special license. The thermal devices are good for spotting deer in the 1 hour before sunrise and 1 hour after sunset that is permitted.
I have always found the biggest issue with night shooting relates to judgement of distance. That makes most setups difficult to become comfortable with. I might have missed this issue in your review but do these make that issue any easier to judge.
You forgot to mention the add on Ballistic Laser Rangefinder, 1000m or 1500m versions available 😉 I have the X-site Pro as I didn't need the thermal option...
Nice Andy tad out of my budget pal but I do have a sightmark wrath and it’s perfect for me would love a thermal tho sadly just out my reach so only thermal for now is me long Jon’s.All the very best 👍🏻🏴👍🏻🏴👍🏻🏴
@@colinstubbs8734 It's a Brandon Herrera quote. While I definitely want one of these scopes, and they are very useful, some people buy them because they can afford it, while others can't. They will then brag about owning one to their friends who can't afford one. Thus, "flexing on the poors" as the saying goes.
At these prices - UK - winter- night - fun? Top one looks like a military spec. There is a point when technology and cost takes over skill. I have a Yukon photon.
Very nice looking scopes, how do they compare with the pards ? Want a night scope but if spending that kind of money would want to make sure I get the best for the money.
Hi Andy. Great video and love your reviews. Can you please compare pard nv008 lrf with atn 4k pro. I have read a bad rapport with ATN software. So love to hear your thoughts and comparison
ANDY a question please Are these springer rated ? I already own a pulsar which I use between my .223 , rim fires , pcp and I have used on my springers but have stopped doing that as I’m not sure on the above question
Wayne, Pulsar lists their recoil ratings on their website. “_Recoil rated up to 6,000 Joules for flawless performance on larger calibers up to . 375 H&H, 12-gauge and 9.3x64_” I would think it can take the springer. ATN lists theirs as well. For the lower end thermals, “_ Just like the ThOR 4, it is recoil rated to 375HH and . 416_” Hope that helps.
@@BuckRailAirguns thanks for that reply I always suspected it would cope with a springer , but I had doubts due to the nature of the recoil being both ways Thanks again
How much does one charge for an evening dispatching rats? Charge a wee bit more for the anti social hours and use of the 4 grand kit. Use the scope to provide a high yield and justify the extra cost. A Sprinter cost me 8 grand. 4 doesn't seem like an rediculous business cost by any means
Be nice to see more items like the mars LT in head to head comparison tests with other brands giving a budget to mid price over view
love my 4k ATN pro, brill day & night vision scope

Thank you for yet another fantastic program.
How did we ever manage with a Webley Vulcan or a old battered BSA Airsporter and a huge lamp and bent marksman pellets. 🙂
I still use a webley vulcan and a bsa mercury, but the car lamp and car battery have definitely gone though lol.
😂👍 true.

Hi there I’m from Bulgaria but live in Leeds. I own pulsar c50 on my Browning Maral 30-06 amazing scope very capable and don’t break the bank.
I had a rabbit problem at home until i got the missus some new batteries
Yep, those things can be rampant.

Funnily enough I have just been looking at Mars, the planet not night sight!,as it's in conjunction with the Moon tonight (11/11/22).

I lamp with a tealight candle & a reflector made out of tin foil.......this intensifies the candles light into a tight beam.

OK, I’ll show my ignorance. How do these ‘camera’-based sights cope with parallax?
@4:50 are the prices

How long before you review the BSA R12 CLX bolt action?
I suppose I should buy 2 as its only money in the end 😆
Yeah but which one copes best if you call in a napalm strike at 3 am onto ratsville
The average RC Jet costs over £7k in the air these scopes are cheap as are rifles 😊
Does this make have a poor record for reliability and customer service ?
Infiray T2 PRO 👍🏻✌🏻
