In time, with these two the past few years bringing more appeal, someone out there is definitely developing a version that will be more appealing for a civilian in todays conditions.

@@dillonbray It's also important for an open source option to be available since public safety oriented radios are notorious for having a lot of backdoors that only feds and enemy countries know about. Example the P25 callback direction finding exploit.

Though interesting ... if a product is only available to LEO/Military, or no plan to release a version of it to the public, then I don't see the utility in producing content about such a product. "We’re dedicated to providing quality equipment to citizens who want to protect their life, family, community, and country." Hope you continue to maintain your focus.

The civilian market, both consumers and manufacturers alike, need to have more knowledge of these MIL products, so there can be more demand and more R&D for competing products that will be available to citizens. Smarter radios and better waveforms and MANETs exist in the public sector, and we can create demand for them in the private sector.

Every radio is simultaneously an end-unit and a router.

Eventually the hi-end becomes more available so the education fits well into a short and long term planning process. Keep it up and get the products into your store or be the marketing front end for drop ships - in other words - go figure out what kits we need to buy at 2 or 3 price points/capabilities.

It's like a tiny phased array; it figures out where the other signal is coming from and it steers its signal to it, regardless of your 2D orientations. Not sure if 3D orientations are compensated for, or just kinda work, or what.

Never understood why people want a radio. I know it's tacticool and looks good on the vest or rig but honestly. Things to consider, if SHTF that radio repeater tower is going to be commandeered by the govt or by anyone in control. 2nd, any frequency you broadcast on can and will be triangulated and will be used to find you. It's how we pounded the sand into the Taliban in the mountains in AFG. They got real smart and went to using nokia phones. Also if it is a dark sky event ( all coms are out) that 1200 dollar radio is a boat anchor at that point.
