I'm really sorry to hear you're going through that-it sounds incredibly tough. If you're in the U.S., you might want to look into local food assistance programs like SNAP (food stamps) or community food banks, as they can sometimes help provide immediate support. Some senior centers also offer free or low-cost meals and other assistance. You're not alone in this, and reaching out to local services might help ease things a bit. Take care of yourself!

@moneyinstructor I already have snap $230 a month 31 to 33 days with that it's not enough I spent $130 in one day to last 3 weeks and that's stretching it! Essentials are another high cost. An easy $100 to last 2 weeks rent $600 insurance 110 a month gas $80 a month! They just don't care. I seen on TV many people die on beds while Their bodies disintegrate.
No one's there to care for them.Irregardless of what they live with.

It sounds like you're facing a really overwhelming situation, and it’s frustrating when it feels like the support provided doesn’t truly cover the basics. With rising costs, stretching a fixed income is harder than ever. I know some community organizations, like senior advocacy groups or even certain local charities, sometimes have additional resources or can help connect you to support services you might not have tried. It could be worth reaching out to see if they can offer anything extra for essentials or even help advocate on your behalf. Hang in there-there are people who care, and I hope you can find some support.

@moneyinstructor I already went to the ss office they won't help anymore than $20 a month. Being a low income senior is becoming a slow death with depression and starving till you get some kind of health issue. Only in America today.

It’s truly disheartening to hear how the support just isn’t enough, especially after a lifetime of working hard. Sadly, it’s a struggle too many are facing, and it’s wrong that seniors are left in such difficult situations. Sometimes local community centers, churches, or area agencies on aging have emergency funds or food programs specifically for seniors. It might also help to check if there’s a social worker who can advocate for you-they often know about resources that aren't widely advertised. You shouldn’t have to go through this alone.
