At 9.30,option a is also a correct sentence
9:29 Carnivores 'are'. So the answer is 1st option A & D.
Exactly.
I think so
But carnivores is COLLECTIVE NOUN SO SINGULAR WILL BE USE
@@utkarshburakoti8433 No I guess Carnivore is a singular noun and carnivores is its plural form, it's not a collective noun.
Carnivores is a plural noun. It'll take " are"
9:31 A and D is the correct answer. ''carnivores'' is a plural noun so ''Is'' ke jagah ''Are" hoga.
correct me if im wrong.
Here it is used to convey a collection of animal. So i guess option "is" is right
Thanks, I had the same doubt and we already discussed how A option is correct so yes A and D should be the answer
Carnivore is used to convey the collection of animal. But here "carnivores" is used which makes it plural. Thus the option "A and D" is correct.
Carnivores "are" flesh eating animals. "Is" is wrong.
A& D are right choices.
As carnivores is not a collective noun, but plural. So "are" goes with Carnivores.
Very Helpful Video . Too Many Concepts Cleared But Many Mistakes Found
9:30 in option D *two solutions* is absolute word so 'is' should be use ,
pls correct me if I'm wrong ,Thanks!
At 4:27 , we have a collective noun (team) and the sentence also has "'and'' which is a conjunction. So how do we decide which verb is to be filled in.
exactly. same question
it must be prural cause in the last lecture he said that using and means prural subject
i think and is included in the team, as in it is used to tell the constituent of the team so team should be given preference.
The concept is explained at 9:27. Pls check
Doctors and medical researchers both are part part of team. So we have to use Team and not to focus on and
Sir can you name the best source to practice with detailed solve to the problems ?
2nd question of advance level...
I think it is option C
"Causes" a significant reduction
No grains is plural so cause will be the right one
But why grains is considered. I always thought of "consumption" which is singular
No bro
bread made from ergot infected grains cause a significant reduction
Why are you considering consumption here??
yes option c is correct as the subject here is "CONSUMPTION"
15:24 why not consumption of bread at correct dose "also causes a significant reduction in ......."
exactly
6:14..if we ask what then it gives ans as passing disparaging comments..then A has to be right choice .
How come it is wrong?..
I'm very very much thankful to u @Rodha😘😘😘
at 9:08 sir once you are saying carnivores is plural, then you're saying it is collective noun. Which is correct?
Carnivores "is" flesh eating animals: is clearly a wrong sentence.
Yeah I mean what kind of knowledge he is gonna provide? If he himself doesn't know it?
& how can u say that mr.....
@@sarthaksingh2317 by using his phone stupid
Carnivores- plural
Carnivore- singular
(* people who are arguing in this concept can google it)🖒
Carnivores acts as a collective noun because of "eating animals"
Finally some good VARC content
In the 3rd question you have contradicted your previous video, please confirm which one is correct.
can you please refer any book for practising?
Sir I have a doubt about one of the intermediate level question at timestamp 8:49 in that question you said A,C and D all three are correct but there was no option in the following options where we can choose all three and if it is not there then why were only C and D correct
same question
Sir please reply
Ans. Is none of these
At 9:25 when we see sir shows 3 options are right and in option there is no option to choose all the three then one of them has to be false?? Also in one of the lectures sir said some is a singular verb and i know are makes sense then what about the rule u said some goes with singular also how to choose whether A and D are correct or C and D or B and D???
You doing great job sir🤓🙏
6.11 Sir option A says "Passing disparaging comments on a colleague's integrity invites severe and equally intense backlash. "
So, if we ask here - "What" invites? The answer will be "Passing disparaging comments" , not just "disparaging comments"... Nd "Passing disparaging comments" is an act, which is singular, so it will take singular verb. Hence option A is a correct sentence. Right?
Nd I'm unable to understand the meaning of option B. - "Many a bright boy..." ???
Can you please explain?
technically A is right. Passing comments invites backlash. That should be the base meaning of the sentence.
I may sound weird but , we have to ask here (what) Inviites sev........ backlash , Those are the Disparaging Comments, Not the passing of those comments,Passing doesnt effect the integrity of collegues, The disparaging nature of the comments does. IDK i hope i am making sense. Also if in case if it feel right , The second sentence has no area of doubt it is absolutely correct , so you have to go with the option containing B. Pardon my english .
Many is the name of the boy
I have the same query
@@Rahulbajaj561 Then there should be a comma following the name I think
why are we not deciding the form of both verbs only based on consumption? (time 15:29)
same doubt
Thank you. Helped a lot. :)
Sir i have searched on google , exhibits is the plural form of exhibit .. and you said that exhibits is singular ... plz confirm us
In the advanced level question, how do we know what subject is to be taken in consideration like why did we take 'price' and not 'oil' (considering the first part because of the conjunction)as the subject?
for any sentence correction question, first understand the meaning of the sentence. don't follow subject verb agreement rule blindly. The verbal part is to test your ability in comprehending sentences, not to test your grammar skills. Once you are able to deduce the meaning, then it becomes easy for you to trace errors present in the sentence.
here, we are talking about the 'price' not oil and other fuel components.
At 7:50 how can we identify that in which question we have to consider two different person as one person?
in case of ten days we take it as absolute quantity so it is singular but what for two solutions u assume it plural
explain this
thanks sir, volume is much better than the last video
At 15:00 mins, "Consumption of bread" is the subject for the agreement with the verb in case of triggers as well as with causes. Since consumption of bread often TRIGGERS but, at a proper dose, also CAUSES a significant reduction.......
I think this needs to be corrected, else please provide me with more detailed explanation as to why "CAUSE" is the correct choice in the answer options. Kindly help.
"Cause" because the subject is ergot infected grains...since grains is plural, we need plural verb cause and not causes...hope it's clear
I also have a doubt in this, according to the context of the sentence cause also is referring to CONSUMPTION of ergot infected grains... so it should be 'causes'
Same doubt!! Please answer this....
Cause should refer to consumption of bread. If not, why?
@@arindam3 Attempting the question , I first asked, what is triggering, I asnwered " Consumption of bread products made from ergot infect grain". After that can you help me to find which is the main subject ie
a. Consumption
b. Bread products
c. Ergot inected grain
@@arindam3 sir what about the noun dosage. Is it not the noun that cause is referring to?
In the sentence it is clear that the dosage causes, so why not dosage?
Kindly clarify sir.
Best video sir thankyou
sir how can grains become subject?the consumption is the thing that causes reduction....thed breade in made from grains but bread or grains are not subject
"10 days are required to complete the project." It is gramatically correct. Focus on days.
Even though if we focus on days, it represent absolute number of the individual day.
ex - Friday, saturday, sunday. all three are individual Singular Subject &
word days is representing their individuality so " IS "
is absolutely correct...
10 Days are " sounds Correct" BUT Logic can't be changed :)
@@iamkartikkk4789 You can say that in terms of money. We say 10 rupees is required but that doesn't sit well when the same is said about "days". You won't say 4 Fridays is required because the emphasis is on 'fridays' more than on '4' and hence the 'are'. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
@@V_Kavya If ‘Ten days’ (length of time) are together considered as singular number, then say:
Ten days is enough for me.
If ‘Ten days’ refer to express ten different days, then say:
Ten days are enough for me.
In any case, to avoid confusion, I suggest, always say:
Ten days are enough for me. but in CAT or any High level exam pattern of questions are twisted to sniff the accuracy of the answer.
Hope it helped!
Both can be used basis the association with quantity. Is - a time period of 10 days is enough. Are - 10 days are enough to complete the project
How do we know if they're asking "Employer and Manager" as a single person or two people? Both should be correct right?
If it were two separate people the statement would have been "The employer and the manager", the 2nd "the" is absent in the statement
Thank you very much sir 🙏🏻
Sir in 9:30 question there are 3 correct answer but in answer is B and D.First option A is also right
exactly I think so, like in earlier example ,playing with kids is good fun, playing was subject, according to this concept "Passing" should be subject here.
Right. It should be none of these.
I think option C is wrong
Dear we are talking about passing as an act so it has to be invites...
Please check
At 16:07 the price of oil and other fuel components
And if r consiering and , and is a plural and we will use plural verb acc to ur previous video
mark and john studies?
because and becomes plural?
correct me if im wrong
At 5:14, how does option B make any sense? Can someone explain it to me please?
good explanation given
At 7.05 Ten days are required to complete the project is right, isn't it?
could you please tell how would i know when to ask "what" and "who" to verb
sir a and d are correct tf ?
Thank you so much sir.❤❤

does 'people' come under collective noun?
sir we need
previous year questions
Sir is consumption is noun or verb? If it is a noun why
@4:23 Q3 : isn't it a team and medical reaschers who have found so it will be plural because 'and' is a conjunction?
Both Doctors and researchers are part of that team... So we'll focus on word TEAM.
when two subjects are joined by and BUT represent one idea, the verb is always singular. for eg- Slow and steady *wins* the race.
here, both the doctors and the researchers represent one team of workers, therefore we have used singular verb
10:51 what if the gender of the person isn't defined? I learnt that in case we don't know the gender of a person, They/them is perfectly acceptable. "Everyone in the family should understand their responsibility" if we're putting the pressure on family members without any defined gender.
Sir how ur concepts are very clear
How come 13 minutes and 10 days are absolute quantity but 2 solutions become plural?
Sir Question at 9.17 minute, You said A is also correct but in finally after all options you said C&D is correct..
Which one is right?
according to me , carnivore is not a collective noun hence only a and d are right
@@meghathakur8342 you are right👍👍
There are no options such a , C and d. That's why it's correct to take whether a and d or a and C, or you can take a and d
According to me carnivore is collective(singular) ..and carnivores is plural hence it is wrong.. so the correct answer is A and D
C is wrong Carnivores is plural
9:25 if option A,C and D are the correct options then why is the 4th option correct and not the 1st one?
16:16 ...'price' is singular but 'and' is plural....so "have" should be correct
Exactly... because here have refers to both the price nd other fuel components... so it should be have only... i think i am right... plz tell me if i am wrong
same doubt
Is 'People' collective noun?
Isn't their in question number 12 referring to the company's? Please clarify.
Yes somebody please clarify
at 9:30 carnivore is singular and carnivores is pluaral form.so a and d must be correct.
sir what about option A
Thank u
16:29 how does "their" refers to "components" can't it be the company management
Actually 'their' is not directly referring to the components, but it talks about the outlook. And outlook is serving as a plural image because of the word 'components'. Hope it is clear now.
Hey have you cleared cat
Too helpful
But replying needed sir
During timing 9:29 We donot have the right option as A, C&D are appropriate options.
bro nobody is gonna reply you look and watch the theory part and stay happy
Thats where i also paused
option C is not correct. Carnivores are flesh eating animals is a correct sentence. Humans are omnivores. Here we don't see humans as a singular noun and same logic applies here. correct me if I'm wrong.
@@rahulram3958 "carnivores" is plural for sure
A C d are correct in question 7 then why choose only c and d??
Also how can carnivores be collective noun??
at 7: 23 sentence A has a ...,...., .... content between two commas can be neglected so that thing can be considered and, the sentence can be analyzed right
In Q3, conjunction are used( a team of doctors and medical researchers), so from that logic And is plural and it should take plural verb I.e have been!
Kindly explain?
I would have been from the and logic if we weren't given "team". They are talking about a team which has doctors and medical reaserchers. So the emphasize is on a team .
tysm sir
Sir,
In the third question, why are we not considering the 'and' ?
yes someone please explain this
9:19 (A option) is also correct

You should read as...the team is the misture of doctors and medical researchers...therefore a team of "doctors and medical researchers"(read it together)
In 9:23 A, C, D are correct sentence but why we choose C and D option instead of A and D
In qus 3 there is also a conjuction 'and', so how can we decide for using a singular verb?
Yess
study is plural?
Sir says and comes then go with plural so why he uses singular in 3rd question
Sir at 9:00, A was also correct and you said C and D are also correct but you chose the third option(C&D), please explain this. This think C is incorrect as 'Carnivores' is plural and 'Carnivore' is singular.
Same doubt!!!!!!
At 5:14 as invites is plural right..why he's saying its singular and invite will be plural
4:56 option A is grammatically correct.
Merko 9:16 mai (C) part mai doubt h Or isme ans a, C, D ryt kiya h but option m C and D why?

Can anyone give me the explanation that why a number of Raj's friends is here plural because everywhere he consider number but here he choose friends so why he choose friends and not number..plz explain..at 7:41
That's what Iam trying to figure it out
Because when you ask it in a question form, you get " who is coming to the party?" (Not "what is coming to the party?") The answer is Raj's friends, which is a plural subject and hence it'll take "are" as a verb
3: 17 scentence contains and then it should be plural but you are saying it as singular??
Yes I thought the same...
It is difficult to find verb in the sentence please explain that
9:26 A and D are correct option

I rigged in the internet and according to me the "Carnivoures is flesh eating animals." it is a wrong answer choice
The Prime minister and The Finance minister visited for some official work is a secret.
According to rules as we are talking about two people so plural thus visit over here is plural so instead of "is" "are" shud be there. Correct me if I am wrong.

When we ask question what is a secret so answer would be official work and when we put a question who visited America we got our answer which is plural and visited is also plural
In the 3rd question? Ye kse pta chlra ye past me h sentence? Tell mee
It's not typically past sentence, it's just shows that action started in past and completed in present or immediate past. If still you have any doubt regarding this tense.... I'll suggest that you need to visit Sir's tense lecture first. 😅
