So as I see it it’s beneficial to have them in your light as long as you can turn them off

I'm using 3 far red Rapid Led pucks in my 5x5 for 15 min after lights out in an attempt to shorten flower time. Its my 4th run using them and each time I notice differences in my plants than when I'm not using them at all................ There is a dramatic change in Leaf size and stretching between segments. Its hard to control their growth. I've tried different ways of introducing the far reds to my grows but I'm interested in when to adjust the timing to take advantage of the far reds ability to put plants to sleep. ...........I just turned them from 8 days of 12/12 to 12.5/11.5 for another 7 days then 13/11 then the last week I'll go 14/10
I've used red fluorescent in veg and it stretches them too much for my veg closet and I found them spindly so I've stopped

If you’re going to use far red late in the life cycle, would you use the far red as a supplement to your full spectrum?? Would you want it on low for the flowering period or only at the end of the day for a short period?

When you say early in life cycle do you mean in the veg stage or the first few weeks of flower stage? Love these short videos 👍

He is talking about flowering. So as an example use far red for the first 2 weeks and the last 2 weeks of flower.

I do not think IR and UV are worth the effort. It is for It is for new growers thinking money can buy a good grow. They end up selling them pennies on the
    dollar.

If they aren’t worth it then why do plants grow so much better bigger and stronger outside in the sun that provides natural IR and UV?

@bradleyford987 because uv lobby, manufacturers purposefully enhancing outside plant's, left wing, Clinton, obviously, and whatever.

Because the sun produces way way way way way way more (visible) light than your LED lamp does without running into heat constraints
      What a silly question
