- Ritchie Valens' family members, along with Buddy Holly's widow Maria (in black beret), join Los Lobos and Los Lonely Boys at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa, in a rockin' rendition of La Bamba in honor of the late, great Ritchie Valens. Clip from the February 2nd, 2009, "50 Winters Later" memorial show to the fiftieth anniversary of the "Day of the Music Died."
I just rewatched the movie again. Now that I’m older. Man, such a sad story. Just put me in tears. I’m a guitar and music lover. It’s just so sad. God continue to be with all of his family. 😔😔😔
Richy comleted his task on this planet in only 17years. His legacy will be enternal.
Till this very day, the movie LA Bamba makes me cry.
Me too.
My guy and I just watched it AGAIN.... what a lovely guy he was
I sob every single time!
Pzeeoaooazezoapeozooaozoaeatoiaoaa
Me too, especially when his brother Bob screams at the end. 💔
i cannot imagine 50 years down the line the song still HITS
No imagination needed! This is Real!!
no one every gives credit to Bob he was the one that got them out of that peach farm he saved up alot of money and got his own house and then he moved out to pick up his family !!! R i p Ritchie Valens
SJ P
They never worked in a farm that was only in the movie
Jovany Marquez man, his comment was 10 years ago. I don’t think he’s going to reply.
@@gooseman7737 ikr lmao
@@Crescentokie
Yeah I know I was just correcting him
@@gooseman7737
Yeah I wouldn’t either lol
It’s amazing he was only 17 and famous for 8 months, and continues to support this family in post Mortem …
Man, he was only 17, he deserves this reunion!😭
This is so beautiful. I bet they were laughing and rocking in Heaven seeing their loved ones so happily rocking!! What a great tribute and show of respect, love and honour.
***** cual cielo en el infierno
Truth
Um ok 🤔
Ritchie is forever in our hearts. His music is forever.
This is awesome, the way his family celebrates Richie's life is amazing.
It's also beautiful to see Maria Holly up their with The Valens family, I feel like that day in 1959 brought everyone together.
it was a shame that they were trying to avoid or include her
R.I.P Ritchie Valens, Big Bopper, Buddy Holly we all miss you
Gary Villeda yeah too true bro
+Gary Villeda we lost a true star ,but his music lives on R.I P buddy and the bopper .thank you for yout legacy ......rock n roll never dies
+Gary Villeda I was 2 years younger than Ritchie (with a T) and I am a Real Man, so much of a real man that I cried when I heard on the Radio about losing 3 super greats, all at the same time. I still get Moist Eyes when I remember that they, along with lots of Great Entertainers, Sang from their Hearts, just for us, the Fans. Eddie Cochran, Ritchie's Good Friend, was also up there in the Greatness Area..
Gary Villeda 😢❤️

I can only imagine how much Ritchie, Buddy and J.Ps families miss them.. My mother always told me the best times of her life were the 50 & 60's and how much she loved Buddy Holly & Ritchie Valen. She got teary eyed remembering when she heard about the plane crash.. Rest in Peace!!
R&B- why fly in that weather? Love and kisses, Karita.
Ritchie Valens, forever in our hearts. Thank you for your music and energy. Very inspirational story 🙏🏻♥️
Beautiful tribute. Beautiful and sad at the same time. 😢
This is brilliant. It represents everything that’s great about humans. How delighted Ritchie must have been to see his loved ones come together and party in honor of his music and memory. Rock on.
I just watched the movie for probably the 100th time. Still so sad. Richie is smiling down. Brings a tear to my eye.. RIP Ritchie, Buddy and the Big Bopper. The world misses you all..
I had 175 3rd and 5th grade students sing La Bamba as our concert finale last June 2014 in St. Paul, MN. The kids and the audience LOVED it! The music will never die!
Awesome to see that this people are still around. And Los Lobos and Los Lonley Boys are cool as ever.
The Lost Boys don't belong there.
GREAT TO SEE HIS FAMILY STILL TOGETHER AFTER ALL THESE YEARS
I am from Scotland and am proud to be able to say I was at the 50th Anniversary Tribute Concert at the Surf Ballroom, Clear Lake, Iowa along with about 1,800 people from 32 countries around the world.
Today is the 57th Anniversary of Buddy's death.
Rave On Buddy.
Alan Harris
Viva Scotland too! That means long live Scotland.
Muchas gracias Irma.
Independencia para Escocia!
Alan Harris Wow Alan, you know spanish. You Scots amaze me. I visited Scotland 2 years ago and it was so beautiful, que lindo pais. I stayed in Edinburgh and took a highland tour.
Alan Harris I live in Texas after spending some time in L.A.
Next time please visit my city of Glasgow!
One day I will visit Lubbock to get my picture with the Buddy Holly statue.
When I was at the 50th Anniversary Tribute Concert I met a lady who saw the show in 1959 who said there was a large Hispanic community and most of the audience were there to see Richie Valens not Buddy Holly!
Thanks you for your comments about us Scots. I have travelled in Spain and Spanish speaking countries for many years and tried to learn some Spanish along the way.
Best wishes
Alan

Beautiful tribute
love this movie..brings childhood memories
Yazmin Nieves It rolls my clock back to my first 7 years...
Ritchie was with out a doubt at least 20 years ahead of his time. Had he lived his music would have transformed rock and roll a lot sooner than history allowed. Maybe that's why the Lord took him home so soon.
RIP RITCHIE VALENS WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU
What a wonderful tribute,my 38 year old son loves watching the video since he was small.
La Bamba is a world famous song!
In France 🇫🇷 we really like to sing it!

Los lonely boys love them they sing with Santana and this team love you all get strong
su musica me hizo resaltar mis sentimientos e hizo Bailar .llorar.y aun en esta epoca . yo soy de los 90 fue unico que Dios lo tenga en su gloria..
Another thing Buddy and Ritchie have one big thing in common is, Ritchie was a Latino who fell in love with a White Woman and Buddy was a White Man who fell in love with a Latina. To me that's very beautiful that both Icons had a similar relationship with people in their individual lives and showed us anybody can love anybody 🕊🙂
❤ YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!! 😊 ABSOLUTELY! NO RACISM THERE! RIP! OUR PRECIOUS 3 ICONS! "RITCHIE VALENS", BUDDY HOLLY", & "THE BIG BOPPER" (JP RICHARDSON), & "THE PILOT". 💕 🌧️ 🌈 🕊️ "NEVER EVER EVER! FORGOTTEN!!" 😢 😇 "LOVE" & "MISS" "YOU DEEPLY!"😘 🤗 Della R. 💋

+Fast Eddie .. The song goes Chantilly lace had a pretty face ..
@@QueenlySweetpea Hello, baby
Yeah, this is the Big Bopper speakin'
Ha ha ha ha ha
Oh, you sweet thing
Do I what? Will I what?
Oh baby, you know what I like
Chantilly lace and a pretty face
And a ponytail hangin' down
A wiggle in her walk and a giggle in her talk
Make the world go 'round
Ain't nothing in the world like a big-eyed girl
To make me act so funny, make me spend my money
Make me feel real loose like a long necked goose
Like a girl, oh baby, that's a-what I like
What's that, baby?
But, but, but, oh, honey
But, oh baby, you know what I like
Chantilly lace and a pretty face
And a ponytail hangin' down
A wiggle in her walk and a giggle in her talk, Lord
Make the world go 'round, 'round, 'round
Ain't nothing in the world like a big-eyed girl
To make me act so funny, make me spend my money
Make me feel real loose like a long necked goose
Like a girl, oh baby, that's a-what I like
What's that honey?
Pick you up at eight and don't be late
But baby, I ain't got no money, honey
Ha ha ha ha ha
Oh, alright, honey, you know what I like
Chantilly lace and a pretty face
Ponytail a-hangin' down
A wiggle in her walk and a giggle in her talk, Lord
Make the world go 'round
Ain't nothing in the world like a big-eyed girl
To make me act so funny, make me spend my money
Make me feel real loose like a long necked goose
Like a girl, oh baby, that's a-what I like.........
those are the Lyrics JP Richardson wrote when he drafted the song. his son , who is now deceased had all of his dads note books. But, Music is so open to interpretation that mishearing song lyrics is a common - and hilarious - occurrence
Long live La Bamba!!
