Rest in Peace Elizabeth Pena. 1959-2014
I thought so. Thanks for clarifying. Now I’ll still look her up
I loved her! RIP Elizabeth!
Had no idea she died until I read this comment. I always loved her. I just went onto Wikipedia and found out she died on my birthday. Very sad for her loss.
Elizabeth
Wow !!! Elizabeth peña was born on the same year Ritchie Valens died
I was waiting for Esai Morales to say, "It's not my first, of my last."
lmfao!!!
Then takes a shot. One of the best phrases of the film.
Rosie! I want summ acthuuun
Esai you slick doggie going in for the kiss!
It's not my first OR my last
Have watched & enjoyed these incredible actors over the decade - Lou Diamond Phillips, Esai Morales (most recently in Netflix series Ozark) & the lovely late Elizabeth Peña . Que en paz descanse.
Elizabeth Peña ❤❤ RIP These are such fine actors and they definitely aged so gracefully. Movie holds its own to this day
R.I.P Elizabeth Peña
Cringe interviewer, but a great blast to the past and 3 incredibly great actors. I still cry when I watch La Bamba. The story hits close to home for me because I was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley and LA too.
Strangely enough, I met Ritchie Valens’ father’s cousin at karaoke on the actual anniversary of the day that plane crashed about 5 years ago… It happens to be the birthday of a friend of mine. We went to sing karaoke at a Mexican restaurant we love in Huntington Beach and a man approached me to compliment my singing! After he walked away, the VJ told me who he was. How ironic that it was the anniversary on that very day and I’d been posting Ritchie Valens songs and articles about “The Day The Music Died” just hours before I would meet a family member of his.
I talked a bit to him. He didn’t realize it was the anniversary of that fateful crash that changed the music industry forever and broke a lot of hearts.
RIP to Elizabeth Pena. I was very saddened to hear of her untimely passing in 2014. She was a brilliant actress and she and my mother were both born in 1959. Life is so very fragile.
🌹
Mexican or Caucasian those three actors knocked that movie out of the ballpark.
ESAI IS PUERTO RICAN , ELIZABETH IS CUBAN , LOU IS MEXICAN CHEROKEE INDIAN , ROSANA IS MEXICAN !!!!
@@antoniohosino145Lou is mainly FILIPINO....
That interviewer should've done her homework before this so she wouldn't have embarrassed yourself.
She kept repeating herself
R.I.P. 🪦 Elizabeth Peña
worst questions ever.. my god who hires these drug addicts to interview these great actors? shameful
Luke Jaeger she was loss for words!! Horrible..
She definitely sucks as an interviewer. Do your research. Santera? Lol
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Stop shaming drug addicts. She's just a lame broad
Interviewer: "What is it felt to have Chicano ROCK like Santera you know ansnbdllbdhh come with what you playyyed and what you SAW? How does it feel?"
The actors Faces: What?
Lou Diamond Phillips has a fascinating background. Phillips was born at the Subic Bay Naval Station in the Philippines, the son of Lucita Umayam Arañas and Gerald Amon Upchurch, an officer in the United States Navy.[1][4][5] His father was an American of Scots-Irish and one-quarter Cherokee descent, and his mother, a native of Candelaria, Zambales, is Filipino, with distant Spanish ancestry.[5][6][7]
He is really an underrated and fantastic actor.
Just brilliant all off them wish i could have met them i could sing and i was not bad and have some in family,
So he is not a chicano?
@@EricForum643 The closest thing to that is the distant Spanish ancestry that he has on his mom's side.
@nourchame019 he is Philippino I thought he was like Mexican American or something like that
These actors are amazing. Love them all
Dang. My boy BOB still keeping it player.
"I'm a huge fan of all of you but I have to read Esai morales' name and struggle to pronounce it before I say hello to him. I also suck at asking questions and my reactions to everyone's responses are really fake."
Who hired this interviewer?? WTF!
Did Pena tell her, no more coffee? Lol
Interviewer would be fired by me
lol poor girl
@@danielupsdell2697 #1 Rule I learned in college, learn who you are interviewing, something they love (favorite food, local brewery, museum) and now to PRONOUNCE THEIR NAME. That was drilled into me, and I am behind the scenes. Example: Dennis Weaver came to our station, and while we were getting shots set, etc.., I asked him about his famous chili. He was amazed, and about a month later, he made a big pot of his chili when Ridgway HS won the state basketball championship. All of the community loved it.
I'm cringing too. But the three actors here (RIP Elizabeth Pena!) are so professional and courteous anyway.
Croatia love film La Bamba...Lou Diamond,Elizabet and Esai....Wwwooooowwww...best,best film...🎶🎵🎼💐💕
Omg the actors where cringing at this lady.😬 You could tell esa felt bad for her even as to give her a your getting fired kiss lol. I've seen some pretty bad interviews in my day but this one has to be top 3 of all time.
YEAH , the worst clueless interview I have ever seen!
Yes I have to agree, I knew from the start when she missed pronounce the word “biopic” I think she was trying to mix it in with some other phrase like “biographical epic”or something.
Funny she’s told to be quiet, I think she probably had a few glasses of wine before the interview, that’s very common at film festivals and other events, people who are the press are supposed to paste themselves so they don’t go on camera at all loopy or stutter stumbling on their words.
She seemed pretty culturally confused didn’t know how to use the word Chicano so she was kept using Latino, Latin and Mexican as genres or cultures.
The interviewer refers to the phrase “Chicano rock“ and then she refers to Carlos Santana as “Santerra“… She was either drunk or simply didn’t do enough research
I agree!
That's how the majority of white women think, talk, and behave around people with a genuine culture, whereas her background probably consists of cultural appropriation of names, foods, and fashion, for example they call a burrito a wrap, and most if not all of the white rock acts of the 50s copied heavily from black blues and jazz musicians.
man morales his scream at the end srill makes a grown ass man cry 🥲
RIP Elizabeth Peña
Elizabeth Pena: "No more coffee for her... No more coffee". Exactly!
That was funny.
She's really saying " Get her off whatever she's snorting."
The interviewer is extremely unintelligent
Pot meet kettle
La bamba my favorite movie of all time. Saw it when I was 7 and I'm 43 now. La bamba was my first DVD when It came out.
Star stunned interviewer. Nerves and lack of preparation on her part.
rand meza
Good way to put it...everyone here bagging on her. She was not prepared too well, but I just think it was an abundance of nerves. La Bamba is the most successful Rock Biopic ever produced and it is an extremely powerful and moving film. They registered it as "culturally significant" . La Bamba means a lot to many people of all races,....heck, I'd be nervous around them also. But, my research and timing would be better. lol.
Rip Elizabeth peña
.What a HORRIBLE interview.
Did she just say Santara?!? Smh... Noooo..
that's what it sounded like lol.. this poor girl is embarrassing- it took her like a min to pronounce Esai's name .. He looked a little offended- = don't ;et this girl interview anyone again.
she was in middle of saing pantara when some 1 in her ear piece said Santana
Carol Santara don't you know?!
Don't interview anyone at all!! Lmao
@@ryublueblanka You know that Santara is such a great guitarist! 😂
As a kid had no idea how well of an actor Esai Morales was/is. love these interviews thanks!
RIP Elizabeth Pena.
I miss you cousin Elizabeth
About the interviewer, how is it she was a “huge fan of all of you“ but can’t pronounce the first or last name of the actor sitting closest to her. Boggles my mind but I guess this was some kind of college video film review program. It reminds me that some of the greatest people in filmmaking never went to film school
0:28 this is my ritchie and this is my Bob😍😍😍😍😍
This interview is about Labamba it's kinda funny when Esai mentions Twilight and Harry Potter and Elizabeth mentions transformers franchise.
This woman interviewing Lou Diamond Phillips doesn’t realize he’s Filipino/White
She also doesn’t seem to realize that NONE of them are “Chicanos”. Esai is Puerto Rican and Elizabeth was Cuban 🙄🙄
Lou Diamond Philips who stared in the biopic La Bamba is neither Mexican or "Latino". He is Filipino-American but the Philippines was colonized by the Spanish Empire for 333 years.
RIP Elizabeth Pena
Mexican Americans have come far! There's more Spanish stations on fm radio then English lol. She's selling herself short. RIP Liz Pena 🙏💔
Santana+pantera= a hybrid santara
Love la Bamba
great film all time favs. u sacran films
elizabeth pena looks so healthy here.
i think it was shortly before she died. her health must have went down hill fast. RIP
la bamba is a cult classic that every generation should see.
HOW WE MISS OUR ROSIE , WITH RESPECT TO ROSANA , LOU , ESAI AND ALL THE CREW WHO MADE LA BAMBA A LEGEND ON THE SCREEN !!!!!!
In hindsight as Great as Lou was as Ritchie, they should have had him add a few pounds for the sake of realism to make him more like the stockier real life Valens
Who are you to say,.,, His mother saw the shot of the audition for the band and when the scene was done his mother hugged him and said that Lou was Ritchie....
RIP Elizabeth Pena 😔
ESAI MORALES LOOOKS THE SAME. GOOD GENES.
guapisimo Esai Morales
Bob and Rosie! Ok now where is the mota and beer 🍺
Is she high? And who is Santera?
Uuuummmmm why wouldn't The price of admission hire a spanish, mexican, hispanic or latin person to interview.....that's like having her open up a mexican restaurant....ITS NOT GOING TO WORK!!!...she's thrown off bad...shes asking irrelevant questions and making them feel uncomfortable...i can see it!!!.what a waist of payroll..👎
.. It is so embarrassing to listen to this interview.
Very intelligent people. Love this interview
As an interviewer, the most important thing is never keep saying that you’re a fan of the project more than once. That makes you look so unprofessional it’s not even funny.
Wow
She mispronounced "biopic" and forgot Esai Morales name and COMPLETELY RUINED Carlos Santana's name... Just in the first minute of this interview. 😂😮
Funny thing is none of them are Mexican at all. Still they pulled off their roles so perfectly.
I was reading comments about how horrible the host was and within 20 seconds I see they were right!
Bi-opic and Santera!
None of them are Mexican lol. Interviewer just assumed. Good on them for being good sports.
Too bad The actress of Rosie died
From drinking!!!
Não me admiro pela emoção da colega entrevistando um extraordinário trio do filme Labamba. Eu sei o que é isso. Já entrevistei pessoas importantes. No meio de torcedores exaltados numa final de campeonato. O coração vai a mil. O Excelente Esai Morales, a Incrível Elisabeth Pena infelizmente falecida e o Insuperável Lou Diamond Phillips. Apesar do Lou ser mais novo, tudo me leva a crer, é sem sombra de dúvidas o Grandioso Mestre deles e de muitos outros. Beijos e Abraços à vocês. Vou me prepatar. Amanhã 27.11.21 as 17:00 o meu glorioso Palmeiras enfrentará o Temido Flamengo.
No offence to anyone else, but Esai Morales STOLE THIS MOVIE!
Amazing
She was born on the same year Ritchie Valenz died.
Rosie looks like she’s doing legit sign language when she talks
Seems like extreme sign language
Movie my childhood
I like to think that if Ritchie were still alive and the movie wasn't made that he would've been a star
Wow, terrible interviewer. “I’m a huge fan of all of you!” she says as she struggles to pronounce Esai Morales’ name. The actors and the movie deserve so much better.
amazing bob rossie and ricthie
The interviewer is evidently intoxicated. If you are reading this, drink immediately after the interview never prior...OR! might I suggest you make it the theme of the interview. That works as well
Must have been embarrassing when she could not pronounce Esai, Morales name, nor Santana
Not a single mexican american in this group...
The three of them were not unimpressed with her.
This Austin Powers wife interviewing she's trippin
The interviewer seems nice. Strange, but nice. Being a nice person is most important.
R.I.P. Elizabeth Peña . Such a loss 😔
Santara?
GREAT actors!! Regrettably, terrible interview/ interviewer
Bi-opic? Santara? You would think if she didn't know how to pronounce Esai's name, maybe ask him before the camera starts to roll. Wow this interview was a train wreck. Honey, baby, sweetheart get out of the business.
Where l him this movies
She couldn't pronounce their names...I'm done...
she couldnt guess thier race lmao
That intervier act like never been around a Chicano before come on now these our 3 great actors and acress
I am uncomfortable just watching🤔
Its pronounced bio-pic
Like santanaaaa couldn’t think of anyone else lol
Dope interview. La bamba tho
BOB
Is this interviewer for real.....smh!
Came here after watching the movie. I was cringing all the way through this.
I think she way out of line...
Santara is bad ass!
It's weird to see bob morales talk like that :(
The interviewer was kinda bad almost like she was surprised Latinos could do anything
Lou Diamond Phillips is simply gorgeous here!
Earth calling Mars Earth, Mars it is a red martian a very very red martian.....
Dafuq?! Don't quit your day job.... "esai" pronounced exactly as it's spelled on your cue card.. and "Santana"... I don't know Santara! Maybe drop less acid before your next interview. ..
she's a horrible interviewer!
This interviewer tisk tisk tisk smh.
Should have hired a black woman to interview these amazing latina talent icons ..Shes nuts and questions off the track..to much white lines i guess ..she lit ..lol
Lol
I gave this video a thumbs down, not because of the actors, but because of the woman interviewing them. It was embarrassing to watch! :S
Wow this interview happened few weeks before Elizabeth pena died😔🤧
Actually 22 months prior to her death (Oct. 14, 2014) from alcoholism. I loved her work in Jacob's Ladder and Lone Star.
Tchau lou
So awkward. What was wrong with this girl?
Cute all three.
The interviewer is trying too hard to be respectful and accepted.
