I have been thinking about this show ever since it had been cancelled before and lately I have been thinking about it even more. I am so ever happy to find it here. Thank you.
que nostalgia!!! esta serie la veia siendo tan chica... recuerdo que me perdia tanto que rra real y no .. que era la realidad virtual!! fue la primer serie que vi.. que nostalgia por dios!!! ojala en algun momento salga en dvd!!
The character of Sydney Bloom as she interacts with supporting characters shows a great range and thoughtfulness on the writers' parts. She's also smart but never to the point of being overly snarky. The show feels like a mix of Fantasy Island meets Blade Runner meets Quantum Leap. It could be interesting to remake but it might ruin the nostalgia as some of the charm comes from the use of dial-up, modems, and old computer graphics. Plus Sydney's character is fitting for Lori Singer as she was cast perfectly.
There was as few paranormal shows on tv as there were shows on FOX. Making them compete, yet today we have like two dozen paranormal shows on every channel you can think of.
I used to love this, and that was before I even knew David Macallum was going to turn up in it. 'The Committee' - and Joss Whedon took that and turned it into 'The Council'. Note at 0:30 Tony Head's voice asking "Did your father ever take you into VR-5?". Was this his first U.S. tv series? If this series had been a big hit we would have had a very different Giles in Buffy.
Yeah, to the best of my knowledge, this was his first US series. Oliver was such a great character - really would have been great to at least get an idea of what the writers had planned for him, Sydney and Duncan.
i really enjoyed this series and dont know why it didnt last. when i was little i though the attress was the chick from kill bill ..the one with the patch i forgot her name.
@@ninab9969 They definitely finished out the whole season. I remember the cliffhanger ending. I was a young teen and this is probably the earliest I can remember watching a show that I loved only for it to be unceremoniously cancelled. A first in a long line of disappointments lol
Oh, this was a great show. It reached even us here in Latvia. I was so angry when it was cancelled with so many questions unsolved.

In Spain the show was aired in 1996. I remember watching it while doing my homework. I was about to enter university then.
One of the vest shows of its day. Sadly forgotten.
A show so ahead of it's time.

Daryl Hannah's doppelganger :-)
Loved this show. Especially when she went inside VR5.

I'm here bc of the Film Threat interviewer mentioning this show while interviewing Chris Gore on you tube.
Screw DVD! Need this on BluRay!!
It actually was put out on DVD 13 years ago so it's now out of print.
And now 18 years later the occulus is coming out soon and we have the kinect.
That's only VR.4 ;) There's still 6 more levels to go. But it's all in your minds already...
El padre de una parte de Matrix, como no Happys Saturdays: cybernet, reboot, vr5 y lo que seguía!! Oh nostalgia!!

You gotta love FOX, and their ability to cancel any show that was in anyways remotely good, or interesting...
This is why Sony could never be like the Committee
My teacher actually wrote for this show. hilarious.

Vr 5 vs vrtroops
This show only aired about 4 episodes before it was yanked. It was considered another xfiles paranormal knock-off.
Erm, pretty sure it went off the air after 13. At least they had a first season, just sucks that it had to end on that cliffhanger.

Nothing like The X-files Totally different concept.
