Peter McKinnon Now it's time to make a video on How to Color grade your videos in Adobe Photoshop? I mean c'mon guys, that's a software that edits videos as well.
Peter - Not sure you will see this, regardless, I needed to thank you. Your videos provide so much value it's almost not fair (to you)! The content is spot on, THANK YOU
It has always been one of the things I needed to improve - color grading. I've already watched a lot of your videos and they always helped me a lot! Just purchased the pack, can't wait to try it on my next video. Cheers Peter. :)
When I first started using LUTs like these I would stay at 100 and didn’t understand but I have figured out some of the adjustments and this video has now opened my eyes to more possibilities. Thanks Peter! -American Paprikash
Hi Gym Nutrition...You need to install a LUT installer and load your luts within fcpx...here is a link with video for the FREE installer from Motionvfx: www.motionvfx.com/mplugs-107.html
Dude I scrolled through some videos to check out your channel , I subbed without even watching one , I knew this was for me , keep going , you are very knowledgeable !!!!
Hey Pete, just bought your LUTS, and WOW. I have to say, just slapping them onto some random B roll I had edited down earlier has made the whole thing degrees of magnitude better! I am genuinely impressed mate! Well done on these. They're a must-buy as far as I'm concerned, so go out and buy yourself some premium coffee with my cash my friend and thank you for this, greatly appreciated!
Color grading is definitely something I need to work on...ok, ok...color grading is definitely something I need to start doing. Purchased the LUTS pack and look forward to getting my hands dirty and putting them to work. Loving your channel my friend! Safe travels!
Sir, I am Akash from New Delhi, India .I never subscribe on any channel but your videos touched me heart you are the only youtuber whose channel i subscribed cuz your video are worth watching . You use your language in a good way to express your views which is easy for viewers to grasp. All the best for your upcoming videos !!!
I always wonder who dislikes videos like this... free help; great information.... what on earth is not to like.....Peter you’ve been helping me so much! Learning a bunch! Thanks!
If you Input LUT under the creative tab instead you can adjust the intensity of the LUT. You can go past 100 so it gives you a little more than changing opacity which only allows you to lower the intensity.
some questions: 1> Do you use RAW video all the time? 2> can we get better result on flat color video (CINESTYLE COLOR PROFILE) as compare to normal DLSR video? ps. i have canon 700d with kit lenses, this camera can not handle raw video more than 10 sec so instead i use cinestyle color profile
Bought the LUTs and the Pre Set packs. Finally, a baseline for me to go off of. Just totally helped me up and crush my color game. Thank you Peter McK!
I wish you had a lot more content out so I could binge watch your channel. But dude, I just started watching your videos not to long ago. And your mindset, personality and just your vibe is awesome. I just started photography 2 years ago. And you are exactly how I want to be like as in content wise. Thank you so much for all the tips and tricks. I have learned a lot and I hope to pass in the knowledge and your channel along as well.
So one problem I've had for years with Premiere on my iMac is a gamma color shift after I've rendered. Basically the color I had in edit becomes desaturated and flat once I export. I've tried multiple bitrates and passes but the color never comes out how I had it in Premiere. Have you ever had this issue or have a solve for rendering?
Oooooooo baby! These are amazing! I always color grade my own footage. I like more darker and bluer tones, but this is just on another level. Thank you peter, will DEFINITELY be picking these up.
I just can't believe how your RUclips channel has growned so fast. I still remember when you had 60-70k subscribers on RUclips! Your content is so great Peter.
Man, awesome video and LUT pack! I'm loving them so far. I know it might be boring, but I'd love to see a video on the best export settings in Premier Pro. Loving your content man!
Tanner Batt I see 4 thumbs up 👍 ... having said that; are they wanting to know the answer to your question as well or their way of saying "yes" to your question ? Haha. Now watch someone's going to just "like" my post and not actually answer my question(s). In turn, I'm back to square one. 😂😂😂
just got a Mavic pro, I have my Mark IV, I am ready. You, Mr Peter, you have set the bar higher, and left out a hand to get people over it. thanks man!
Your growth has massively inspired me greatly. Been watching since your massive storm of subscribers and your content has always been of quality. Seeing that you're also in Toronto gave me great hopes to get going, feeling motivated. You got me creating content and in a matter of two short weeks I've already reached a milestone of 100+ subscribers. Thanks again Pete, would love to hear from you!
Peter !!! i love ur video and thats why i purchased your luts. but i cant use it, whenever i apply it it only show black no colour nothing but if i use default adobe luts it is working. Please help me!! reply please im so excited about using your luts and this happened !!
Just bought your new Video Luts V2 for FCPX - I use Clean and Tidy for every vid and love it and can't wait to check out the new ones - thanks so much for these!
Just purchased these Peter! I'm doing some video work up at a local mountain and I think these will help take my footage to the next level. You rock man! Thanks for sharing this!
i use luts on FCPX. you have to download a 3rd party plugin and its pretty much the same. I use mLut, its a bit of a process to install since you need to sign up and use their downloader but its free and its works great!
I can vouch for this for FCPX: www.colorgradingcentral.com/lututility/ It's super easy to apply LUTs with it. Also unlike Premiere Pro you don't need to open your file browser every time to pick a LUT, they are all put inside FCPX for quick selection any time.
Just brought your luts, to use and as a bit of a thank you for what I've learnt from you. Can honestly relate to your recent post "I was a horrible photographer" for me I am at the very start of that journey. Thanks again
Cool, Peter, thank you so much! I came across your channel, watched some videos, and now all I can think about is getting back outside and capturing my own footage to tell stories with. Not only does your creative eye shine in your work, but you are also a great teacher! So happy I found you!
Hi Peter. Thanks for all your videos. I've only subscribed for a little over a week and already am religiously watching it. I don't know if you'll read this comment but I'll open this up to everyone who has experience with the problem that I'm facing. I'm very new to cinematography & editing and I'm currently doing a project for an assignment which requires me to take footage inside a jungle. Because I live in a tropical country where the weather is just sunny or wet, I came across a major issue that I can't seem to find a solution for. When I looked through all my footage, I found out that most of them if not all had this lighting problem. Because I was filming in the jungle, there were a few spots that were too bright because the sun was blasting through the top and some parts were shaded due to the forest canopies. Mind you, this isn't a dense forest. It has a few open space that serves as my background. This problem made it very difficult for me to find a middle ground when I edit the footage. How do I solve this problem where there is this very bright & shaded spots in my footage? Can I edit it out? Should I do a retake?
Peter - I bought your LUTS!!! I actually meant to only buy the Lightroom ones as I NEVER use Premier - but as it was my mistake - enjoy the donation! I am a new subscriber to your channel and man have you encouraged me to get back out there with my DSLR and start shooting away again!! Thank your for the fire, drive and encouragement - keep up the good work and get ready for your notifications to boom with all my likes - Signing off for now from Australia!
I wasn't using adjusment layers properly until watching your vids. It's definitely better messing around with layers rather than the original file! Legend
Theres a reason this guy got so many subs in such a short period of time. Well put together instructional and entertaining videos that actually make it easy to learn new things. Watched 5 videos before this one on LUTS and all of them left me frustrated - i was off and running the second this video was over. Good job Pete.
You're freaking awesome Peter! Been watching your stuff for almost a year now! You're weekly videos are truly a highlight of my week, as I continue to grow and crush the video game, here in Omaha, NE! If you're ever here, would love to collaborate!
Currently in the Philippines recording with my Sony a6500 and gopro6 this vid and others have been super helpful when I get internet that lets me watch it for more than a few seconds at a time, I owe you a drink or coffee when I get back to Toronto!
I'm so going to buy this once my IMac comes in! Seriously Peter man thank you so much for helping so many of us bro. I'm very much a beginner and plan on pursuing this as a career. You make it all seem very possible for anyone to do this. Thank you man!
I saw the video, this is so motivating. I'm gonna buy your LUTS pack. Can you suggest me a good budget Lens for my 80D to shoot videos? I'm just a beginner.
Just awesome stuff bro! Your videos inspire me to just create and enjoy the creation process. Plus, it inspires me to enjoy the journey of become a better videographer and motion graphic designer. Keep it up Peter!
I only discovered your content a few weeks ago and I'm so glad I did. Just trying to add in all these great tips into my workflow, but I'm learning loads. I've only just started experimenting with raw video footage and grading, but I'm going to pick up your LUT pack anyway to show my support for your channel. Plus this video makes the whole process seem manageable for the video newbie!
Just Stumbled on your videos and holy crap you're awesome!! I binged like 20 of your videos and loved them all! I'm learning how to do some graphic design and edit video and you've inspired me to just create even if its something i don't like but just be creative and make something new as well as do some photography (which I've never done or wanted to do). So thank you for your inspiring awesomeness!! Keep up the great videos!
I'm just beginning to learn Premier Pro and can't wait to try out your LUTS pack. As for a favorite, all seven! I can see uses for them dependent on the shot they are applied to. All depends but I love dark and moody and think I'll be choosing Arctic Ice, Black Eye, and Kodak Killer pretty frequently (if that is, I ever learn Premier Pro!) I love the way they look! Thanks for ALL your tutorials, I'm learning so much from them!
Thanks Peter, looks like youtube creating will be a long journey, adding to the tool kit with your stuff will improve the experience. Been fun so far! Happy Friday:)
Thanks Pete, I had ambivalent feelings about using my new camera gear until I came across your channel. I was super excited to go create and explore new ways to produce amazing continent, but I was scared of not knowing how to properly edit video with all that great footage. you made this worry kinda go away since you continue to share all these great tips and advice on how to do it well. thanks man please keep 'em coming and keep inspiring other people. I feel like I get more educational info just by watching your vids, than from any other source I've used. Thanks for your great work! Love so much!
If you Input LUT under the creative tab instead you can adjust the intensity of the LUT. You can go past 100 so it gives you a little more than changing opacity which only allows you to lower the intensity.

Check out my Instagram @greenlowtops !! Thanks for replying!! 300k!
Do you usually add the lut to each individual clip before you edit or to the whole project all at once
I was wondering this too.
@@SiHargreaves You might probably notice that each scene in the Peter's uploaded videos is graded differently and that's the answer.
Peter when I started watching your videos, I just wanted to go shoot stuff outside everyday and I'm thankful that you did that for me
Can these LUTS be used with Final Cut Pro X?
yes they can
Your growth has massively inspired me greatly. Been watching since your massive storm of subscribers and your content has always been of quality.
