    Very helpful. Thank you very much for including the torque specs for the bolts. That saves me a good bit of time looking for them elsewhere.

    I loved it when you started to move your oil drain pan under the trans and thought hmmm that pan may not hold any additional oil-averted a very big mess......

      Even at normal service intervals, ATF can look clean, but it should still be replaced. If it's dark, you've got problems.

    I have 2014 CRV and torque spec on engine oil drain bolt is 29-30 ft-lbs. 36 seems a bit high…

  • @LM-ys8kr

    you were actually talking about the caliper when you said rotor. The hydraulic hose connects to the caliper to push the piston

  • @Trigger-xw9gq
    @Trigger-xw9gq Год назад

    It is best to use ATF to lubricate the oil filter seal, not engine oil. It is also best practice to fill the oil filter with fresh engine oil before installing it.
    The rubber hose going to the rear caliper appears to be cracked and ought to be replaced, although it could just be mud/dirt that is on there and cracked.
    NEVER do such work with a big, metal watch on!
    You must have oil stains all over your driveway. Always put a large piece of cardboard down first.

    I suggest you remove the fill plug just to see if there was fluid coming out of there. When I refill mine I pump in fluids until it come out the fill plug hole. Also check and replace all your crush washers

      I always remove fill plug first, don't want to remove drain, just to find out you can't fill it back up.. specially when working on it in your driveway.

    • @investing4everyonevideos303
      @investing4everyonevideos303  2 года назад

      manual should state.. from what i remember its every 50,000 KM for ATF. but even if you don't have 50,000 KM, i would still change it after 5-6 years. Break fluid has to be changed every 3 years, regardless of KM.

    May I suggest you never wear your metallic watch when doing service at your car? In case of some electrical issue you may be burned. Also, can you tell me how much miles or kilometers does you CRV have? I have a 2012 CRV AWD made in México but only with 60,000 kilometers on it and the only oil I have change every 10,000 kms is the engine and oil filter. Although I am wondering if I must change the transfer case oil and the automatic ATF. I don not have any issue with my CRV, and I have it since new. Ten years with 60,000 kms is like 6,000 kms every year and it looks like new, I love it. Thank you for you information.

    • @investing4everyonevideos303
      @investing4everyonevideos303  3 года назад +1

      Its not mine CRV, but it had 40,000 KM. some fluids require to be changed every 3 years, independent of KM, brake fluid for example. I believe ATF and differential fluid has to be changed at 40,0000 km. thats why i changed those. that was the first change for them on that car. There were lots of metal shavings on the magnet, so they definitely needed to be changed.

    • @hon28ney
      @hon28ney 3 года назад +5

      You can still and I highly suggest that you change your ATF Fluid while your car is still around 60k mileage. Do it now or you may never have a chance to do it again cause it will do harm rather than good if you do not change it now. So change your ATF Fluid now but don't ever do a transmission flush.

      mexican CRV, the ones with projector low beam headlights instead of reflector ones...
      change the ATF and diferential oil every 15,000 km, according to the manual... i think you could do much longer but i guess its better to prevent eh.

    why motor oil 0w20?

    • @investing4everyonevideos303
      @investing4everyonevideos303  2 года назад +2

      Because I live in Canada, temp often drops to -20C (and lower), 0w20 flows better at low temperatures, which is better for your engine, and it will more likely to start, and not drain the battery, after sitting in the cold all night.

      everything except engine oil, has Honda written on them. That's because engine oil is synthetic, and exceed specs for that car. :)
