Hi Nisha, Very informative Video. Infact all your videos are very informative. I have 2 questions - 1> In CIF mode of Transaction with out Bank LC. When should the Importer pay the Exporter? 2> Will the frieght forwarder release the goods only when Original documents are produced to agent?

Thank you Satish. Pleased to hear you find my videos useful
      1) Regarding paying the exporter, it isn't related to FOB or C&F. It depends entirely on what you have agreed with the supplier. C&F just means that the supplier covers the cost until your port.
      2) Yes they can release the goods only when they have filed the originals to the customs.

Other question, if we order just a pallet, how do we deal with the delivery? say for example if we order from China, which is best to do...get the supplier deal from China direct to my place or should I myself get a freight forwarder here in UK? Hello
I would recommend joining our FB Group UK Importers Hub where you can network with similar Importers and Freight forwarders.
Regarding getting your goods, it would be great if the supplier can get it delivered to you. If they don't do that, then you can arrange the customs and clearance in the UK.
And due to Brexit, I guess it will be easier for you to arrange the local customs and delivery in the UK. But you can always check with your supplier what they cover

Hi Santosh, If it is small orders, the best way is to arrange via DHL courier and make sure you get it delivered to your home address. That way, they will clear the customs in the UK. Once at the airport, they will contact you to pay the duty charges. After thats paid, they will deliver to your address
If this is the case, then you wouldnt need an agent in the UK.

@@sureshkct1358 Yes I think she should be ok to do that
To begin with you can bring small quantities as samples under your personal name. After that you can register as a sole trader
