this was the first time i i like a 1176 simulation more than the original!! well done!
Υπέροχο βίντεο Αλέξανδρε.. Ελπίζω να κάνεις και άλλα τέτοια βίντεο στα Ελληνικά αυτή την φορά... Big ups
Fantastic review and sound demos. Thank you.
Very usefull video. Keep them coming!
Thank you so much for this video. Really useful!
Awesome, I felt that all analog gear always gave the wider image, sound similar but the image different, the only one I didn't felt any difference was the fet-A78 :o
I am going to go do the same now on my discrete 4 sc!
Very useful. Congrats.
I'm very surprised at how close these are. A couple were virtually identical and the rest still sounded very good
Wow.. Great video you just proved that digital & hardware are virtually identical. I own a Zentour, thank you for doing this comparison. By the way your channel is awesome, you have a new subscriber.
Next time they have to just import an unprocessed file in the DAW, process it with hardware and print it on a new track (without switching cameras or pausing the video), then treat the same unprocessed file with plugins, print it again on another new track then solo each during playback to have a true and honest comparison that doesn't take advantage of any video editing tricks. You do know that no one's regulating how genuine their comparison was behind the scenes due to so much video editing and footage switch. We need something like one camera, one take, where he's processing and printing both versions live with no video editing tricks or interruptions. It's so easy to fool people with such fake comparisons because this is literally what the customer wants = digital identical to hardware. Of course on your own material you won't tell a difference once you own the plugins but hardware units aren't even identical themselves even if you're using a pair of the same compressor model, there's always going to be a slight marginal variation because they're mostly made by hand and analog-based internals. Unless those hardware units they used are exactly the ones the plugins are emulating/modelling, there's no way they'd sound ultra similar unless Antelope used the same audio track for each footage switch during comparison.
@@costinvaly1 What on earth are talking about? There is clear audible differences between the Antelope plugins and the hardware it is being compared to.
Great review! All I can say, is the surprisly quality of the plugins today. For now, is really dificult emulate the low end and the saturation of the hardware unit, but is a really little thing compare to the benefits and price of a plugin.
Your right, big changes are happening, might be time to sell all analog outboard gear i own before the prices drop to zero like they did with reel to reel.
@@LeeCurry1968 Couldn't agree more!
Good job!!
Nice! Can u make tutorial daw+obs setup with d4 sc sir :). Ty

Awesome vid! Very useful 👏👏
Great vocals!

Nice video thank you! I would like to see a comparison of the Antelope Audio plugin emulations vs Acustica Audio emulations.
Hi Daniel! Which Acustica plugin would you like to see compared with the Antelope?
@@alexandroschrysidis379 You do know that no one's regulating how genuine your comparison was behind the scenes due to so much video editing and footage switch. Do it on a bare livestream then I'll take your word for it.
@@costinvaly1 Sounds like we have a UAD denier here...lol
Damn they are Nailing it with the Emulations 🤘🤘 I own the whole Antelope Bundle but have used the Plugins much yet... Time to do so!!!

I use a chain of 3 plugins when recording in the front end. A low cut from the BAE 1073, some Sky from the Maag emulation and then some compression with the SSL Bus emulation.
Alexandros, is thjs your vocals chain?
@@bg4productionsllc for tracking vocals yes!
@@alexandroschrysidis379 I don't have access to the ones you've used but I tried a similar chain with Veq1a, Clearq, and then x903 compressor. Very nice start to my recordings. Thanks.
@@costinvaly1 I'm sorry but this is not the Antelope RUclips channel. I have no endorsement or any relationship with Antelope. I can provide to you the Pro Tools session so you can compare for yourself.
Coming from the antelope group nice video dude!...
Do you have any problems with their products , software or hardware , because i want to buy sound card from them , but i read an awful reviews from customers about technical and software issues and poor technical support ? tnx
@@DJURBANBG No issues at all. Best support in the business!
Hi . Very interesting video. Thank you. Can you tell me will new plugins work with old interfaces like discrete 4?
I really have no idea!
Αλέξανδρε καλές γιορτές,κάνε ένα βίντεο για mastering edm tutorial με τα plugins της antelope.αν δεν το κάνεις ποιο mastering chain προτείνεις;;
how do you use those plugins within your DAW? I just bought the Discrete 8 synergy core but can't figure out how use the plugins within the DAW I was told that is a MAC only feature & you had to pay extra for it, but I see you are using it with windows any info would be greatly appreciated thanks for the video
You have to buy AFX2DAW or use it like a external hardware fx
Anybody that says its the same obviously never mixed OTB.... Its easy to listen to 2 instances and say they are the same. They are not but you can't really see it. But in the context of a whole mix is where you really see the difference because the differences add up. But FPGA's are solid tho.
I have to agree. But yes plug-ins are very close and obviously faster than working OTB but if I get to choose…. Hybrid. I still can’t get the same depth ITB than on the console
this is of course true and I would prefer a console workflow over a DAW any day. The AA fx compared to other emulations are really good though, and there is a lot of contention about these effects being better then those effects and so on......The reality is you could mix an entire album with just AA effects and never think twice about the sound quality, they are very good. The amp models need improvement but the mix processors, comps and EQ's are spot on.
sheesh its spot on
exactly....don't be swayed by UAD fan boys who have spent 8k for their dsp solutions, these FX are spot on.
If I buy the discrete 4, comes with al those plugins? Or I have to buy it.
Most plugins are extra but there are sales sometimes where you get the audio card with tons of plugins included in the price.
Hi, will this take 3 rd party plugins ,,,[ fabfilter. etc ] thanks ,,, thinking buying one
No, the FPGA is only for Antelope plugins.
There's only a noticeable difference between the black face 1176 otherwise the other units sound very similar, very subtle differences.
what do u think antelope synergi core plugin vs UAD plugin which one better and closest to hardware
From a specs standing point any programmer will tell you that FPGA are much superior to Shark DSPs in terms of flexibility and power. But that has nothing to do with the emulations. Emulations are all about code. So it's safe to say that both can do the job!
FPGA is superior if coded correctly, most shoot outs pit software against software ie....UAD vs Antelope vs waves or something like that. What was done here is the correct way software VS hardware that it emulates. In this context Antelope gets it closer the UAD. Good luck trying to convince someone who has spent 8k on dsp modeling and processing cards that their system is getting chumped by a four core FPGA array, thems be fighting words son. UAD adds saturation that is not actually present in the original units they emulate, this makes the plugs in sound good psycho acoustically but is not in fact indicative of what the real units sound like. It is a very subtle enhancement that tricks the listener into perceiving the material as louder and therefore must be better, an audio illusion. Sounds really good when compared to other software emulations that don't do this but fails in a one to one against the real thing in my opinion. People that tend to use a lot of UAD in their mix tend to have mixes that sound over saturated and slightly smeared and it is for the reason I stated above, that subtle harmonic enhancement tends to build up as you layer more and more tracks. I like the UAD thing and it was a massive leap forward when it came out, but there are cleaner more accurate things available today.
Very useful video. Many thanks.
What interface from Antelope has been used?
Those plugings are the new edition for synergy core or the FPGA ones?
Good catch Christian! I should rename the title of the video as those plugins are the new Synergy Core with the DSP and not just the FPGA!
I used the Discrete 4 SC for the comparisons.
@@alexandroschrysidis379 good to know. I own a Discrete 4 as well connected to Orion Studio 2017 via ADAT. Discrete preamps have a slight different flavor compared to Orion Studio 2017.
Is there any difference of sound between the synergy core and the FPGA ones?
@@rzemeckis I have no clue, I am using only the 1st generation Discrete 4 and Orion Studio 2017. I have only the FPGA ones.
Could you null-test them, just for fun?

For me 1073 and urei 78
哎哟,不错哦
I have to agree with most of the others that these are really well-done emulations. I use Antelope Orion interface and modeling mics (which I've compared to several of the originals like you did here), and they are paying real close attention to the details.
Do you have any problems with their products , software or hardware , because i want to buy sound card from them , but i read an awful reviews from customers about technical and software issues and poor technical support ? tnx
@@DJURBANBG hi,i am an antelope user on windows 10-64 and Cubase 10.5. i had no crash till i begin to use it and when i try to operate first time, they made a good technical assist. i an say i really wait for the fpga era when they announced first and its really amazing!!
@@tuncayaydn9216 do you connect the discrete 4 synergy core to pc via USB ?
@ hi, sorry for delay. i am using discrete 8 sc by usb and its amazing. i have good configurate pc to produce so i have no cpu problem. i did not use thunderbolt connection. the new ceo of antelope audio anounced the afx ll be adapted to pc too, soon.

would it make sense to use uad plugins with an antelope interface ? or would you recommend using uad plugins through an uad interface ? im thinking of getting an antelope interface with a uad pcie card i produce hiphop/pop what would you recommend ? loving your channel ! greetings from Hungary
Hey , that's a great idea actually! UAD plugins are great if you can afford the price!
Like I have been trying to point out to people, AA fx are some of the best out there, the differences to the real unit is vanishingly small. Much closer in some respects then some of the more popular software out there.
καλησπερα!! Αναμεσα σε antelope synergy core και uad apollo x duo τι θα διαλεγες? περισσοτερο για ta da/ad

Hardware is better, but FPGA are a very good tools. Hardware is deeper, wider, bigger, and more harmonics and sound. I have both, hardware and Orion Plugins. I love both.
ρε φιλαρακι καλημερα και καλη χρονια θα μπορουσες να με βοηθησεις με μια απορεια??
Φυσικά
Let's be honest: there is no difference. Especially when you use it in a mix. That's the reason why most experienced and successful producers are mixing in the box nowadays. And you have much more sophisticated tools at hand that were not possible in the hardware domain. So great that producing and mixing now is more about your creativity than about your bank account.
@nikolaus respected sir... I completely agree with u sir ..❤
Did you put the mask and glove on to annoy us or gain views? LOL. Now you've spoiled me I want to hear an Acapella version of your latest song with a mask, I'd pay to see that ROFL!
Slipknot were always an inspiration!
Plugins sound better
Jesus loves you
Bless u
the answer is NO! Hardware always sounds better!
The difference is clearly audible, but honestly the plugins just work for all sorts of modern productions!
As regretful owner of the Antelope Synergy Core Discrete 4, I would say:..... "AVOID"..
The routing software is a complete mess. It´s crazy how badly designed it is. USB connection won´t let you use the FPGA plugins. Never. Afx2DAW will never be available for USB.
The unit eventually hangs, forcing me to unplug it and even restart my computer.
And the cherry on top of the cake, today it´s the 4th day that Antelope´s server is out of duty, I can´t connect to their data base, so I can´t do anything related to my account, plugins, whatsoever, with my unit.
Too expensive for what It offers, in my opinion.
Yes, the converters are ok, I must admit it, but it won´t make a difference in my opinion.
@Pochovalledupar i’m afraid you have a Zen interface? Mine is Discrete 4 Synergy Core, and no, AfxDaw won’t work via usb (And ryzens are very difficult to work with thunderbolt, only a couple of MBs support). It’s very frustrating. They CAN have a working afx2daw for windows/usb. They just dont want to.
By the way, thanks for the launcher update tip, it worked for me. Weird situation, someon comes along in youtube and lets me know the workaroud, while their own support keeps inviting me to “have patience”.
@@rodericogarcia It is almost always a server issue with Antelope...once you understand this it is no longer as big of a deal to fix. The new drivers they put out are so much better and I have had no disconnect issues since. Afx2 daw won't work for me either but I don't really care, I just route from my inserts to the antelope FX channels and then back in, my DAW compensates for latency automatically works great, I treat it just like analog out board.
