Incredible quality of the recording and of course a beautiful song.
    Some questions.
What is your opinion about Antelope mic pre's?
What is your opinion about the Audient ASP880 mic pre's?
Antelope Mic pre's Vs Audient ASP880 Mic pre's?
    Thank you very much.

The interface is the 2nd thing.
Man when the song is that good,a usb focusrite will also kill it..
Proper mixing will make the song 👌👌

@@robbmusic8671 real engineers work with what they have. Anyone who believes otherwise is something we call a pretendgineer . Learned that from my mentor and good friend Jeff Harris (former chief recording engineer at the village recorder) it all comes down to to what you know and how you apply it.

@@whocares8413 real engineers might work with what they have.. but if a converter doesn t make a difference. They would work with trash..
If you don t have good equipment which cannot record what you want to hear.. or which doesn t have the character then you cannot do what you want.. It s like driving without having a car.. and there is a difference between the equipment..
the better the equipment, the better a good engineer can work.
a good engineer can still get good results with moderate equipment, true.. but with better it would have sounded better.

@@tutorial4779 If you don’t have a car, you walk. Might take you longer to get to your destination but you’ll still get there in the end. It’s not that it doesn’t make a difference, of course it does. But you work with what you have instead of crippling yourself with needs and I wishes. We’re here to solve problems, not complain about them. Also making Quality DAC is not expensive and relatively easy. Innovation comes from hardship. It’s not that overcoming these challenges is impossible, it just takes effort. So instead of acting like there is no other choice but to spend money you don’t have people should be honest with themselves that they don’t care enough to put in the work to solve their problems.

@@whocares8413 I would rather compare it to flying without an airplane. If you cannot fly you can only jump but will never fly. There are certain limitations. It is true that you can handle certain problems.. and find another way for some.. but you cannot fix everything.
Of course you can also get to another road with a cheap instead of an expensive car but you cannot get the speed of it and the speed is sth like the conversion in this case. (I don t mean the workflow)
If it is not true what I m saying.. try to get the detail and quality of a 40 € USB mikro. Try to simulate a better. You can make it sound similar. True. But you cannot get the quality of the capsule the same amount of detail etc..
Of course it always comes down to what you re searching for and cheap is not always bad and you need to handle certain problems but to fix issues is always a compromise.

It would be great if you would actually use only the Antelope interface to record a full band, using Direct boxes, preamps and other stuff, you can´t call it recording a full band with one or more devices from one brand, while you use others too.

I bought one of the new orions and it was terrible. Had to take it back and exchange it for an Apollo. Unstable drivers and no customer support. Really bad experience. Was super excited for it.

@James R Mac, followed their instructions with the drivers (downgrading them etc..) but it was never stable. Really sad as the I/O was perfect for my studio.

@James R So you'd recommend Antelope over UA? I'm in the market for a new interface right now and I'm in serious limbo between this one and the UA x4 coupled with my ASP880. I'm still quite a novice in the recording space though 😅

@James R Greetings! Tell me please - can you send a signal from the DB25 Outputs to studio monitors (via XLR dad / mom), as well as to in-ear personal monitoring at a concert for vocalists and musicians? What model of Antelope do you have and what computer? Thank you for your help and your answer.
PS. it is not uncommon in messages that I meet dissatisfied people who bought and returned Antelope products back .. And why they were not lucky - about this.
