    Doorframes are not made for pull-up bars!

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  26 дней назад +1

      I agree. I am looking for more standalone options such as the Big Bar, but cheaper and a smaller footprint. This is why you should always test your doorframe and pull-up equipment before use. It may need additional reinforcement.

    You have a lot of faith in that trim

      I reinforced my current setup with some screws, but I have used them in other places in the past with no issues. This place was a bit flimsy for my liking, but is doing well with the "update"

    Yeah, I can agree with not trusting the in-door pull-up bars

    You ever heard of SledTred? I ordered one and it'll be arriving in September. It has a pull-up bar and dip bar and i live in an apartment so im excited to have that as a part of my home gym.

      I have not but just took a look. Seems interesting and decent in terms of not taking up too much space. That is a long wait for the product though. I hope you like it when it arrives.

    Its not even the door frame supporting it, its the moulding around the door frame that's the weak link.

    The first JFlex ones would be great for me as there's a neutral grip option. Unfortunately, all my apartment internal doors have glass filled fan lights above the frames. I don't fancy being decapitated.

    Ive ripped off the trim and seen others do the same
    I liked the screw in bars but I buy loger sxrews than what comes with it

      Hmm I've used mine in a few different places without that being an issue. It may just depend on the build of the frame. I also have "The Big Bar" and Sportneer door pull-up bar - goes on the inside of your doorframe instead. Here are reviews I made of those options:

    I think there are some cheap power towers out there for around $100, but something that is sturdy and well manufactured to support 500lbs and be $100 or less seems very unrealistic. Especially considering the R&D costs, cost of steel, shipping, packaging, marketing, etc. The cost to manufacture alone ill be close to $100. Also probably not a good idea to cheap out on something that is supporting your whole weight, would rather pay more for something to have confidence it won't fail.

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  Месяц назад +1

      I don't need it to be less than $100 (would be nice), but I don't want to pay nearly $250 either. The issue with most towers tight now is they take up too much space for my liking. If a standalone bar around the $150 price can come out and support something like 300lbs+, that would be amazing.

      @@GamerBody Have you tried the pullup mate or similar design by gravity fitness? Seems close to that price range, although i hear they can be a bit wobbly at heavier weights, but thats the quality you can expect for around that price

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  Месяц назад +1

      @@maxthenova I have been looking at it a bit. As you mentioned, it seems a bit "cheap" but might be good. I also don't think it will fit in my closet setup but will keep an eye on it.

      Agreed. It is one of the cons for me. I like the Crossgrips, but that price is high.
