It's very early, but this land has the potential to be the best theme park land in the world. -Its designed from bottom-up instead of top-down as far as the storytelling. -It's opening with 2 potential E-ticket attractions and expansion space for a 3rd. -It appears to have some of the best theming with the manor, the burning windmill, the gravestones, the fog effects, etc... -It appears to have a variety of versatile restaurants and food options.
My jaw DROPPED when you pointed out that wolfman footage was the actual animatronic. It's so ridiculously fluid I thought it was more of all the CG that was used in the reveal video. Dark universe is not only a childhood dream come true, but seems to be turning out even crazier. So stoked!!!
This will be the best thing ever… how simple and how cool can something be even when you don’t have the most current or trendy ip… this will teach other theme park executives a lesson or two…

I could see it being something like with an actor wrapped in his bandage outfit chatting and talking with guests but then he quickly says something to the guests and ducks behind a corner. Maybe he throws some bandages and the goggles out in clear view? Then with hidden surround sound speakers you could hear him taunt you and move around the meet and greet area.
I hope they do end up making the Creature from the Black Lagoon boat ride because I think it’d be a great fit for Dark Universe, especially since he is confirmed to be in Monsters Unchained. I could see Universal adding a lake in the expansion area to become Gill-Man’s home to fit the backstory of Darkmoor, and then the ride itself could involve you joining a geology expedition looking for fossils (like in the first movie) when the Creature attacks your boat. It would also be a great opportunity to throw in some shout outs to Jaws, like some variation of “10 minutes?! We’ll be shark food in 10 minutes!”
One of my favorite details I noticed in the concept art is the hair on some of the riders sticking up and frizzy as if some kind of static electricity is pulsing throughout
Everything, everything, everything about this land I just ADORE. ALL of the storytelling details: characters, architecture, interactions, shops and rides, (and no doubt sounds and smells), ALL tie back in and out of themselves in a way that is just so brilliantly cohesive, respectful and faithful to the original films and properties, yet still SOMEHOW fresh and innovative for a new audience. Absolutely incredible and inspiring work from the creative team for this area, it blew my already high expectations completely apart.
Out of all the lands in epic universe, THIS is the land I am looking forward to the most. Also a creature from the Black lagoon boat ride would be awesome.

This video was definitely waiting up for. They are trying to combine Extraterrorestrial Alien Encounter with Forbidden Journey.Gill-Man deserves his own ride. Fingers crossed that still happens.
Fun fact: The “Victoria Frankenstein” character’s name is a reference to how, in the original book, the creator’s name was Victor Frankenstein, not Henry Frankenstein like in the movie. Also, the assistant in the movie was named Fritz, not Igor.
It is going to be the ultimate test of my patience to keep myself from watching a Monsters Unleashed ride through video as soon as it comes out lol. Gonna be tough. It always seems like I am only able to get on a new attraction like at least a year or 18 months after they open, so it truly will put my willpower to the test. I must say, I think I am more excited for this new park than most of what Disney has been doing over the past 15 years. Love seeing Universal step up like this!
Im so glad Alicia discussed the details about ride effects such as the breath of monsters, the electricity being felt in the ride vehicle, and the bats effect. I can already imagine how impressive this ride will be technologically. It reminds me of Avatar: Flight of Passage immersion but with horror theming and with a KUKA arm ride system.

Like everyone else I've been watching these updates for many months. The more I watched the more interested I would always get. But I have to admit that during all that time The Dark Universe wasn't one of the lands that I was most interested in. Well all of that has changed after seeing this!! Now I DEFINITELY HAVE TO GO THIS PARK mostly to experience The Dark Universe. I'm so looking forward to experiencing that place at night. I already know that it's going to be so over the top cool being in that place at after the daylight ends. AND Danny Elfman composed music will be played through out that land too!! At first Dark Universe didn’t really appeal to me, thinking it would all be intense high octane thrill rides (not a fan), but after seeing what they have in store I am so excited for it! I wonder if the reason they didnt do a black lagoon ride (yet) is because they need to figure out how to make it entertaining, fun, but family friendly while making sure its not just rehashing log flume rides of yesteryear or coming off as boring (ex: pandora navi river journey). There is a delicate balance and I bet the recent Tiana’s ride issues is making them glad they are taking their time with designing the possible ride for future release
Whatever effects Universal has up their sleeves for Monsters Unchained, it certainly sounds like they plan to do everything in their power to turn the scare factor up to 11!

More respectful of real people and for world building the mystics can become their own brand of things, like how a lot of universal original IP creations become fan favourites. Straight up classy. I love that the Werewolf Coaster is a "Family Coaster" with horrific werewolves. Creature from the Black Lagoon water ride MUST happen---this park needs another water ride.
My creativity is getting the best of me I remember being terrified at the adams family electricity game thing at Dave n busters as a youth If it’s electrical component is anything like that, I’m gonna be so happy as it’s both terrifying and nostalgic to imagine

This land with the backdrop of sunny Orlando will be funny, but I’m still pumped for it! Even as a Harry Potter fan, I’m more excited for the Dark Universe over the Harry Potter expansion.
