The chills of listening to and singing along to the original cast album for 40 years - and then actually seeing Roscoe sing these Beautiful Women (sorry) down those famous stairs. Oh! Most def one of the highlights of my life - I had to pinch myself. I shouted myself horse and didn't care one bit. I still get chills watching
I saw this in DC so I'm not sure if if changed for B'way, but I remember that when each of the women hit their pose at the top of the stairs, their younger showgirl self was also hit with a soft spotlight wherever they were onstage. It was beautiful!
I've watched this a bunch of times and only just noticed - At 3.03 Leah Horowitz who plays Young Heidi does a little flourish with her right arm at just the same time as the older Heidi (Rosalind Elias, classy dame in the purple) does it at the top of the stairs directly above!
If you mean a proper DVD of this particular Broadway production then that's not gonna happen unfortunately. We poor fans have to rely mostly on bootlegs.
This production wasn’t as good as I expected. I liked Blythe danner’s revival with Polly Bergen. But both broadway productions needed the set from millnurn nj production.

Love it! Love it! Love it! And yes...
I saw the original on Broadway. My favorite Sondheim show.
Sondheim the greatest story teller and the most exquisite music ever
