Beautiful and moving.
Reminds me of the pieces made by Primrose Music for The Israel of the Alpes series by LLT productions.
Primrose pushes the Oboe to it's emotive limits in that series.
I've never tried Musical Sampling's instruments before, this one sounds incredible! Suddenly want to try a mock-up of Poulenc's Sonata for Oboe & Piano
I can see myself using this in anything from slow sad music all the was up to fast runs in upbeat type pieces! What a great library! Appreciate the giveaway as always, Christopher!
Edit: I just thought of a great example. The soundtrack from Ori and the Blind Forest has a great solo oboe in it. I’ve been meaning to write a piece in a similar style.
Musical Sampling does such a great job with their individual instruments. They're so playable! I quite love their approach! Having a great solo oboe would be quite sweet!
It really sounds like a wonderful oboe library. I love the sound of the oboe but often when sampled it ends up sounding very harsh. This sounds really wonderful for exposed passages.
This would be perfect for emotional tracks in my current project
This sounds like an incredible library! I want to use it for a couple of short films that I wrote prominent oboe parts for, but the current libraries I own just aren't cutting it (the legato isn't smooth enough!)
Really Nice! I would definitely use this for leads in my orchestration.
I would use it for scoring mood music. It also instantly takes me to that place of 'Classic British Detective TV series', so probably would use it for anything related to that type of feel too.
I would like to use that library to write music for my friends' films!!!
Great sounding! I would use it as my main oboe sample library if I can win it!
I like to make songs using hip-hop and orchestral sounds together. This instrument can create wonders when combined with hip-hop drums and bass.
This sounds truly amazing! I’d totally be excited about getting to use it
ive always needed a good oboe, im definitely going to make some disney stuff with this
For a “legato only library” you can get away with shorts pretty easily as well. Very good out of the box sound. I would use this library for my music composition journey for college to make mockups of my music. Im starting to post them on youtube now too so it would help.
Thanks for the giveaway - I'd use it to add some heightened expression / emotion to my pieces!
Pretty cool library. Would be nice to use in some downtempo music
Thanx Christopher for this new video. Most of the musicalsampling are great I use brass already and I love it
Thanks for the video! I would probably test this for a fast action piece or a mellow, romantic piece.
I’ve been looking for a good oboe and this once sounds nice. I have a few of their instruments and they’re all great. I’d definitely use it in scoring
The oboe is just one of my favorite instruments. It's the most beautiful sounding in my opinion and it's just so lyrical. I use the solo oboe all the time so this library would fit amazingly in my template.
Great video btw. I love your content!
Nice sound on that Odoe
I would love to use this oboe as lead melody in small ensemble pieces!
Oh boy, to finally have a usable Oboe sound in my library.. I'm actually quite astonished of how good this sounds.. really need this!
I really enjoy the playablity. It seems agile and nimble, which works for the fantasy and disney-type (Menken, Broughton, Giacchino) scores I like to write!
I appreciate the fine job Prof. Parker did in making these oboe samples.
I would use his oboe in my first oboe concerto.
Fantastic sounding library. Perfect for emotional tracks, coupled with some good solo strings.
This is the best oboe library I have heard! Would love to have this for a Christmas album I am developing and also for some musical theater composing. The dynamics and emotion form this library sounds amazing. Thanks for doing a review on this Chris!
This really sounds fantastic. I should have gotten the flute a while back. Not making that mistake again. I'm doing a classical mockup with a solo oboe and this would fit right in.
Lovely sound, I'd also like to use it for emotional music
I like so much for my orchestral music i make!
Awesome!
beautiful sounding library. I'd love to use it for some quieter, moody song writing, as well as instrumentals.
Great sounding oboe for the type of music that I compose!
This would fill in some gaps in my piece
This sounds like something that would stand on its own without drowning it in reverb, I'd definitely use this for exposed soloist parts
I don't own any Musical Sampling libraries... yet. But I really like the sound of it. Would be great for solo passages.
This oboe patch sounds amazing, especially at only 4GB of samples. I'm currently working on a symphony (composing stage) and an orchestral suite (mockup stage), where the oboe features heavily as a solo instrument. I write both long, melancholic, lyrical lines and fast, more angular ones, and having different legato patches for these different purposes would really help the realism of my mockups. Thank you so much Chris, for cutting through the noise by reviewing these affordable, useful tools and bringing them to our attention!
Wasn't sure which video to ask this on. I've been watching most of your videos by now, and got a couple of the solo strings you recommended. Im looking to solo woodwinds next and just recently saw the V Winds stuff, but since you are my reliable source for this stuff these days, I wanted to know your thoughts on the Flutes and Piccolo in particular since those are the ones I want first. Have you heard them/tried them? Any thoughts?? :)
Haven’t tried Vwinds! CSW is still my choice.
@@ChristopherSiu I see. Yeah, I'm super on the fence as it's all so expensive. Ill look into CSW some more then, slowly building my way out of Nucleus!:)
The Oboe has been an instrument that I have always loved when listening to music but undervalued in my own work. I've been working on some Ghibli transcription the past couple months and it has really inspired me to broaden my woodwind vocabulary.
Musical Samplings strikes again...this sounds good and seems so easy to use! I'd use it to expand my solo instruments in the orchestra for the next videogame projects 💚
This is an incredible library for the price. I've always had a hard time finding an oboe sound that I like for some reason BBCso core oboe doesn't make it for me. I am in. Will pick up today.
I would use this to write some great exposed oboe parts because it's way better than the one I have
That's something I would use for a lot of lyrical magic in solo parts. I wonder how it would play next to Claire Woodwinds. Maybe with Claire oboe I would get nice question and response phrases in dialogue between these two solo oboes. I like what I hear, but I need to explore possibilities myself. :D
I'd enjoy adding that to my orchestral template :) I use a massive Orch template in Ableton connected to Sibelius via virtual MIDI cables so that my scores in Sibelius can play back a fully mastered VST orchestra mix, so I'm always looking for good quality, highly playable instruments.
This oboe is lovely. I would sound great with a guitar.
My first thought with Oboe libraries is always Morricone’s “Gabriel’s Oboe”
Mine would be Marcello's Oboe concerto in D minor, or C minor (which is actually more beautiful). Because unfortunately impossible to play realistically with sample libraries.
Nice sounding - would be good for the more classical style I suppose.
WOW
I intend to use this oboe as a counterpoint to my weissenborn melodies. Should be great...
Thank you for showing this Christopher , I've been looking for a decent inexpensive Oboe patch. This works well but I don't have the "Full version of Kontakt 7" and its not worth the cost to buy it.
Thanks!
Thanks so much Rod!!
I am an Oboist and have yet to find a realistic Oboe library that covers all common articulations. It's possible to sample the tone but not the characteristic transition sounds between notes. This one too sounds synthetic.
Sounds great out of the box. I own CSW. I Do you think this one will be a good combination with CSW (focusing on solo oboe) ?
Thanks for the showcase!
But you've managed to name the last time section of the video "Breasts" instead of "Breaths"
...I'm only a little bit disappointed 😄
The AI did it I swear 🤣
I'll replace the Oboe in my arrangement of "Mary Did You Know" with Parker Oboe.
The oboe is my favourite instrument and this one sounds amazing ! Would really love to add it to my collection
I'm not convinced to be honest. The tone is lovely but the legatos don't sound particularly smooth to me. I've yet to find an oboe to rival the one from BWW soloists.
