I recently got into voice acting. I've been wanting to do it for years and I made my first demo reel. I'm still getting my feet wet, I'm just looking for small projects at the moment. Free, paid, it doesn't matter. I'm having fun doing voice overs. It's a blessing if I do say so myself 🙏

I think many people don’t know this so I’m just gonna say it, voice “overing” and voice “acting” are two different things. In voice acting you will dub/give your voice to a character while in voice overing your job will be similar to a narrator. for ex-the guy who talks in the background on discovery channel.

Hey, I am an actor, and filmmaker and this video just really helped me out. Because it's so true for these type of businesses. I think especially on the internet people look for that "quick fix" or instant gratification when creating art. However, businesses like ours take a long time and dedication. I'm only 20 years old and I understand I probably won't be where I want to be until 2030, but I couldn't imagine myself doing anything else. So might as well go all the way right? Thank you for making this!

Im a musician that lost 90% of my work due to covid. That being said up until this past march I built a full time business playing music. It took like 3 years before i could depend on it for a full time living. Once i got to 5 gigs a week I had to continue to hustle. Marketing, passing out cards, emails , personal interviews with potential clients. I can totally understand where this man is coming from. Since I have good sucess in the past with my music journey im going to apply the same effort as I did in music. Nobody hans you anything in this life you have to go out and ask for the order as my salesman friend told me.

I love doing voices. Not just of people, but also of animals. Specifically big cats. I can do a very impressive puma scream and that all started when I was 6 or 7 years old and would have people who knew people I know actually ASK me to do the puma scream. 😂
I can make the scream so convincing, that my uncle one time made me do it in the woods in one of those metal tunnel things and scared the sh!t out of people who were in the woods. I was 16 or 18 years old.
Oh. My. God. That was truly an amazing feeling. Besides going to do voiceovers, I will be doing other passions of mine. 💜
The goal is to never lose that passion, hustle, and not be necessarily in it for the money, and not give up if this truly what you want to do! It is personally what I want to do! 💜

Great advice for new players Bill. I've been doing V/O's since I was a teenager, but only in the last few years have I made it my full time vocation and that was after over 3 decades in Commercial Radio with Top Rating On-Air Shows in Oz. When you're ready to cut the umbilical chord it can be a very scary thing, but also as you say very rewarding. You can't imagine yourself doing anything else now and I totally get that.

Best advise ever. Was skeptical when I saw this You Tube video title. But dead on. Your advise on the "long haul" and "work ethic" is great.

Well....I am JUST venturing into the VO world. This is NOT what I wanted to hear...but it's the second time in 2 days I have heard the same thing from seasoned VO talent. HA! I truly appreciate this video. This is the kind of thing that people who take there work seriously need to be reminded of from time to time. Great video!

This video is just a boost to my “people think I cannot do it, so I’ll prove them wrong!” mentality 😅 I am very stubborn, when it comes to things, I really want to do in life... a good example; I’m a poor university student, but rn I’m saving up to move to Vancouver (prices are tall there, but my own hometown is worse, so I kinda know what I’m headed for here) 😊
