As a 30 year professional firefighter, I can tell you that your statement of "firefighter's have a cush job" is disingenuous and uninformed.... Firefighters respond to more than "fires", in fact, there is no response we DON'T roll on. From devistating car accidents, your loved ones having a medical emergency in front of you and sometimes passing, including infants, victims of violence and every type of rescue situation. Those calls take a personal toll on everyone who is involved as a first responder. Yeah, the trucks are cool.
Adam wasn't talking about you and those like you - he was talking about the firefighters who spend the vast majority of their time doing next to nothing at the firehouse, earning full-time, tax-funded wages with government-job benefits - and then, when the call to action comes, they avoid as much effort/risk to themselves as possible, to the point that people's businesses/homes/lives are lost due to their inaction. Try not to let yourself get offended on their behalf.

@@jamesalexander8872 Seems the ladder may have been a regular extension ladder. But regardless the Secret Service Boss said that the top of the roof wasn’t manned because it had a sloped roof. So the interior of the building was covered instead.
