I’m going to watch some more of Sarah’s videos, but I think I’m going to use the cork boards idea for my goals, which are essentially projects. This way they are out where I can see them because I’m not good at checking in with my goal planner. I think this is going to help me see my progress better also and keep me motivated. Thank you for sharing!!
I am surprised that you didn't set up a digital kanban board on your iPad, that way it is easy to update and shuffle if priorities change. As a digital planner in OneNote, I was really looking forward to more content on how you have moved from paper to digital. We all need to do what works best for us. Thanks for sharing. 🌝🐈⬛
we're spreading SAFe Agile and Kanban (KMP credential) and things across the company, and boy! how detailed it can get! in my home office i set up a cork board for kanban tracking, a white board for figuring, and an old stack of 11x18 columnar pads for scribbling and brain dumping.
HI Annie - I’m a big fan of yours :). I’m wondering if you are you still using your Kanban board? Is it still working out for you in keeping your multiple work streams in check?
Hey Robyn! I am still using the kanban boards to help with the different projects I have going on. I find them to be a really helpful tool to see visually where I have the most work that needs to get done. I do think there are some limitations for managing which tasks to do now - from a prioritization standpoint. This may be based on the way I plan and work each day. I look to my work planner to tell me what I need to prioritize today. And switching my habits to look at the kanban boards for that has been challenging. I am spending some time thinking about my 2023 planning system for work and how I might use the kanban system in the future. Would love to hear your experiences if you are trying kanban out as well!
How often do you transfer from your brain dump or master task lists (and weekly/daily planners) to update the boards themselves? Where in your planning routine does this "planning" get incorporated.
the kanban boards are more project focused. So in my weekly reviews, if there are project related items I will capture those on the boards. That said, there are rarely new items once I get all the project tasks onto the To Do board. At that point it is more just moving tasks through the phases; to do, doing, done. Hope that helps.
THANK YOU!!! This is what I have been praying for!!!❤
