he never played them to begin with. This grey haired face only talks games but doesn't play. Goofy old fool needs to go take his kids to a museum instead of sitting in his basement all day talking about video games
The “must have” games will be a couple on each collection with added filler so you’ll have to purchase all collections in to get all of the “must have” titles. Cash grabs
Strictly limited games doesn’t ship games ! Beware ! I have orders going back over 2 years ago and they aren’t shipping them ! Then with Iron Meat they never shipped mine that I pre ordered. So then they print a second run, and looks like I have to wait for that second run to get my initial pre order.
The irony is it’s gonna cost SLG more to make / ship our games with higher shipping and tariffs costs…. so SLG sitting on our orders for years is gonna hurt them.
The irony is it’s gonna cost SLG more to make / ship our games with higher shipping and tariffs costs…. so SLG sitting on our orders for years is gonna hurt them.
Evercade needs to release a new Irem collection with these games in it something like 6 games like their first Irem collection, and at the Evercade price... THEN I would definitely get it!!
Wasnt SlG the company that had Limited editions that had EXTRA games only on their physical carts in the past. Looking at the listings they did not do that with gun force. I remember one game they put out the standard only had like 5 games on it, but the collectors version had like all the extra versions of those games.
I believe Gun Force is made by the same guys who later did Metal Slug! They worked for Irem, quit, then worked on the Neo Geo. Or something to that effect. I don’t remember seeing it in the arcade but then discovered it in Mame a few years back. It’s definitely a blast!
@ yeah! I was thinking of mentioning that but the name of the game escaped me and I was too lazy to looking it up at the moment. It’s definitely an awesome game!
I'm not sure if anyone will remember this but in the 90's you could often find Volume 1 anime DVD's that came with a box for the "box set" so you could add the subsequent DVDs to it as they came out, sometimes they didn't all come out as the company would go bust or drop a project. Rather than the Pre-order model they are currently using I feel like that would be a better model, For example : Hey, we intend to release 5 volumes, were going to sell the box set with the first game so you have it for the rest of them. I feel like they would sell more of the follow up volumes that way rather than relying on multi year pre-orders since you actually know you're getting what you paid for.
@@VOAN that's the problem . Game needs a physical . Plus there's a lot more 4 player arcade games that don't have a physical also. They could put sunset riders, the simpsons , crime fighters, and probably more that never made it to consoles . Konami has so many great games.
You aren't going to win with Irem. Look at how Irem is like one of the quickest to delist on the digital shops. Look at when they delisted on the Wii U VCS and on the Wii VCS before.
I pre ordered a game from strictly games in february and still haven't gotten them. I pre order tiny thor and I feel like they haven't even started making it yet lol
I have never seen this games, so its weird they are in such small collections. I might try them out by other means now that i know. Looks like a combination of contra and metal slug
What's really annoying is that they still haven't listed the games for volume 4 and 5 but still expect us to preorder the volume set blindly. They also don't say when they will charge the preorder. Is it a prepay or charge when it finally ships?
#8.33 for each game doesn't sound awful IMO. A little more then the Arcade Classics line per game sure but not absurd. I wish the Collections had a little more variety though. Vol 1 has two vertical shoot em ups and a horizontal shoot em up. 2 has a vertical shoot em up and two run and gun games. As many games as Irem made IMO they should easily be able to put out three game collections without multiple games of the same genre and subgenre. Edit: It looks like Gun Force II was Irem's final game. At least they went out with a great finale.
Oh for heavens sake just spend a few hours getting retro arch setup on even the weakest device you have and play all these games and every other classic Irem arcade for FREE. This stuff is the easiest stuff to emulate and get setup with tasty bezel's and shaders.
While I understand why you’re upset considering back then there would be game collections with like 50 games (like taito legends 1 and 2 or a modern example is sega genesis collection). This whole pricey and definitely could be cheaper, is quality. Those examples I mentioned have horrible input lag. This seems to use the strictly limited/inin games emulator which from my experience plays games pretty good input lag wise. It’s giving vibes of “oh because this game doesn’t have a billion games and or doesn’t have 100 hours of content, it’s not worth it”. Quality is also a factor, while I can’t speak for the games themselves, the emulation assuming it’s similar to past inin games emulation, is good. Though unlike say m2 or m2 shotriggers, they definitely should add a little more to make it worth it lol
Doesnt need to be 50 games, 100 games... but 3 games for $25-35 is a bit much id say. Physical I get is kind of hard to argue about due to costs... but seriously 15 games on one cart for like $40 to $50 is a lot better a pill to swallow than $160 for 15 games... that makes no sense... to split a collection of 15 retro games that are each about 3-6mb's each across 5 collections is ridiculous lol.
@@Mingodough look at the attributions for emulation and open source stuff here.. not really anything amazing going on. But they at least put some nice options for display stuff. But yeah the emulation is fine, but that should be the expectation.. and not the justification for charging more 🤷 other companies should be blasted for dropping the ball for sure..
@ I mean, yeah the emulation isn’t ground breaking, the filters are nice. Not much else other than save states. But even then if you look at stuff like the mega man legacy collection and x collection (not zero or BN because that’s when they started doing them in house) the input lag of those collections is pretty horrendous
Sounds like they went the Capcom route with how they handled their Mega Man games. No reason to spread so few games over so many releases. I get more annoyed that you have to launch and wait for each collection to start up to play certain titles (which are less than a 1MB). Irem's lack of titles per volume takes the #1 spot now.
The majority of physical games these days are either for children or collectors/speculators. Strictly Limited and Limited Run really prey on collectors and ebay speculators. It's even right in their company names. Kind of a shame.
SNK Collection, worth the money. Capcom Arcade Stadium 1 & 2, very worth it. Cowabunga Collection, worth the money. Irem Collections. Not worth it. Not even close. Emulate that ish and save the $.
I preorded the 5pack in MAY 2023!!! They said it would come out Dec 2024, but there is no way. Seriously HATE Strictly Limited. The roms aren't even that big. Surely they could have offered more of there Irem titles on each collection than just 15 split across 5 volumes for that price.
Not true. Whilst Strictly Limited Games are super slow in doing physical releases, this doesn’t stop digital releases from the publisher ININ. They apparently had issues with getting the emulation to be 100% accurate for one, maybe more of these games, delaying its release for quite a few months.
I really don't get why these crappy no name dev does that where they padded each collection of roms with just 2-3 games and charge a huge price tag for it when companies like Atari, Sega, Konami, SNK, Square Enix, Bandai Namco, and Capcom could include 7-150 games per collection for a reasonable price.

MAME
Wish konami would give us a physical collection of 4 player arcade games.

There will be discounts on digital editions, and physical edition is available in Japan if SLG are out of stock.
Strictly Limited is so slow to ship… it makes Limited Run seem so fast 😂
They should just merge into Strictly Limited Run Games.
What happened to the Value proposition?
The PS2 had huge collections from.
Taito
Capcom
Sega
& SNK
Also, intelevision and atari. I've got all of them on the original xbox and there is some serious value there if your into old games.
Maybe if it had some hidden bonus games, $25 would be a little more justifiable

I have a bad ass. It’s always bleeding after I poop.
It's definitely greed, and nothing else. Yea, they could easily fit them all in one cart. The digital will be on sale for 2.99 in a year.
Why is the switch bundle more than double the price?
I'd expect thirty games for $20.
Here I thought Capcom was greedy with their collection but man this is too much ball greedy. And yes I bought the Capcom fighter bundle
