    • @NintenPizza
      @NintenPizza 11 часов назад +3

      Blows me away that there's still no sensor bar for Switch & Switch's 2 Gyro motion, at least by the looks of things, for motion pointer based aiming. How in the heck am I supposed to play the upcoming House fo the dead 2 Remake without a reference. The Wii remote/plus still reigns supreme. House of the Dead 2&3 Return(Wii) worked flawlessly with the wii remote.
      With the joy-con, your cross hair will drift, and you'll find yourself pointing in a different direction compared to where the on-screen cross hair is, which forces the player to press a realignment button to recenter it. That's the definition of Broken, and backwards-thinking. VR is the only way to get amazing and reliable motion controls these days.

      @@JayrosModShopA mouse won't work in handheld mode and will be clunky on a couch. Not investing in a better pointer solution that always works would be a dumb move.

    • @jacklawsen6390
      @jacklawsen6390 6 часов назад

      @@NintenPizzaThey probably could have pointer functionality using a tiny passive bit of plastic with a pattern a little joycon camera could recognize, and using either that or gyros, a very mouse-like setup could be achieved using capacitive triggers that make resetting position effortless like lifting a mouse from its pad. It would be a major waste if Nintendo's control innovation this gen ignores improving pointing methods that actually work well for handheld and couch play.

  • @caleb36
    @caleb36 19 часов назад +10

    So that asterisk, where have I seen this before? Oh wait, that's pretty much every single backwards compatible console ever. Playstation guys who were there since the PS1 days will tell you that we're usually talking about less than 1% when it comes to incompatible games. I think from PS4 to PS5 it was like 10 games or something, most of them pretty obscure. X-Box 360 to X-Box One was abit of an outlier because X-Box One was not natively backwards compatible. They added games individually so that percentage was much higher. My advice to Nintendo fans is to chill out. It will probably be less than 1% for the Switch 2 aswell, like for all of the other consoles that came out in the last 25 years.

    I noticed the way the joy cons plugged in like that too and my mind immediately went to the same place yours did. Mine is 90% played in Dock mode with a Pro controller, my original joy cons are on there from 7 years ago and they are still mint. So personally, it’s likely a non issue for me myself.

  • @josephleichtnam836
    @josephleichtnam836 20 часов назад +6

    I'm personally not remotely concerned. They have to put that there because this will no way be compatible with labo games, for example. The joycon are a different size and shape. That also means ring for adventure will also likely not be compatible. Probably some mini games on 1 2 switch won't be fully compatible. In all liklihood, they won't be things that most people care about.

But to add to this, I have another concern which is, if I use my existing Nintendo account on the new switch, do I then lose the ability to play all my digital games natively on my old switch !?? Even worse still if they don’t work on the switch2. I may end up having to just create a new account for it which I didn’t want to do.

    If the Switch 2 joy cons (one or both) do not have the Infrared IR motion camera, then Switch games that support that will be those that aren’t fully compatible.. probably. I would guess that the vast majority of Switch games will work fine on the Switch 2, with only a small handful either not working or not fully working on it. I would guess this is what they are referring to.

      There's a reason why there's pins on the Switch 2 that connect the joycons. Those pins are there to lock the joycons in place when connected, the magnetic field are just there to keep it stable. Those joycons will have a release button that when press will release the pin from the hold and allow you to take the joycons out easily. Like Ron said as long as those pins don't break, it shouldn't be an issue.

    My concern is the term choice. I read "not fully compatible" and think things with system based accessories, maybe the IR camera etc. so like the game would launch, but the switch 2 lacks features to make full use of some games, 1-2 Switch, Labo and so on. But then I read "Not be supported" and I wonder if there are some that just won't even launch. Like trying to use old pc software and getting that classic error message. My question is, is that the case, if so, why? Is it just legal protection speak? I'll be waiting to see when they finally say more because it's one of my questions too.

    One concern I have is availability of microsd express cards that the system will reportedly use. At the moment, none are available on Amazon from what I see. Hopefully the backwards compatibility issue will be small, likely Labo will not be usable. If the game is a big seller and not compatible, they'll likely rerelease a switch 2 version

    So, if you have an unboxed Labo, the collector price will go up?

    Thats not a big concern. PS5 announced same thing about backwards compability.

    The Switch Lite it's also not backwards compatible with every game, like Labo or Ring Fit Adventure. Unless Nintendo says is more than that, I'm not concerned.

    About the controller connection. That's exactly what I thought when I saw it. I was like....yeah that's so gonna break. My 13yo niece broke one of the rails on her right joycon. I'm sure she'll make short work of this new system. Honestly, im gonna be more excited to see what after market joy cons are coming. Id like to see an adapter to use my BinBok RGBs on the 2.

    I'd bet 99% plus of the games are compatible. I'm more interested if the Switch 2 will improve performance of switch 1 games, like the latest Zelda, Pokemon, Mario and Luigi that had performance issues.

  • @urban_gabor
    @urban_gabor 19 часов назад

    Maybe the incompatible games will be those that use the right Joy-Con's IR sensor. The Nintendo Labo titles also utilize the body of the original Switch console, and the Switch 2 may not fit into the Labo kits.

  • @joshuaburns4667

    I think that's mainly talking about Labo not compatible with Switch 2

  • @esmith13
    @esmith13 19 часов назад

    there are a handful of games not compatible with Switch Lite or Switch OLED as well. It's joycon related. I guess there could be more for reasons exclusive to the Switch 2 but the statement is true based on joycon changes alone. As for the joycon pin connector looking fragile, if it's recessed in the oval cutout in the tablet body then the joycon could only touch it if it's already properly lined up so it shouldn't be possible to damage it. Also it appears that both joycons can be used like a mouse.

    I'm concerned any time we have an edge connector. It is too vulnerable to the environment. The lightning connector on the iPhone is always failing. I have to buy a new cable once or twice per year.
    The trailer feels underwhelming.
    So when is this coming? Apparently not for a while. Sometime between May and September. I am disappointed with the delay because I get the impression that Nintendo isn't competitive with other systems.

  • @Tolbat
    @Tolbat 15 часов назад +1

    Bro this was no announcement, it was here is what everyone leaked, nothing to see here, just a shell and Mario Kart, this is NOT how you reveal a system. There was NO reveal. No Specs, No Games, No nothing.....

    • @VOAN
      @VOAN 12 часов назад

      It was a reveal, not a showcase. What you describe was a showcase where they show the system and actually explain in detail what it could do. It's similar to what they did with the Switch when it first got reveal. Only thing difference was that with the Switch reveal Nintendo focus on it more cause the Wii U was a failure and they just want the Switch out asap. Here though the Switch is still selling like hotcakes so Nintendo is in no rush to quickly showcase the Switch 2. If anything the only thing Nintendo may give us for Switch 2 is more of what the Switch 1 already had, more accessibility, more powers, more storage, more rams, more expensive, and more games, that's all. Nintendo is taking the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" route with the Switch 2.

  • @Riz2336
    @Riz2336 17 часов назад

    Yeah I saw that at the end of the trailer and I was thinking hmm that's really weird, I don't see how some of the older games can't work on this system. Maybe it's like the ps4 games on the ps5 and there's only like a small handful of games that won't work

  • @ZombieXHunter115
    @ZombieXHunter115 19 часов назад +2

    One would hope the joysticks are hall effect, but at the same time it's Nintendo. I wouldn't be surprised the sticks are unchanged and they put out a warning that they not responsible for wear and degradation, making you spend more money on their controllers.

  • @VOAN
    @VOAN 13 часов назад

    Labo, Ring Fit, Labo VR, and likely that Mario Kart Live game may not be compatible on Switch 2. Maybe those cloud games are also not compatible which is cool since I never like cloud games anyways, never bought into them. Also what I learn from console launch of the past is that it's better to just wait until the second year to get one. There's likely nothing good coming out the first year and also the console may even had technical or software issues on the first year that usually got resolve on the second year anyways.

  • @rnk99999

    Labo for one will not be compatible. I dont think it will be a big deal. Thats probably there for the lawyers or else they would get sued by someone who writes a game that does some kind of check and intentionally doenst run on the Switch 2

    Because to me, this was quite honestly, the least interesting or impressive console announcement I have ever seen. And Ive been through all of them since the original NES.
