You can learn a lot about a country by what they put in their MRE packs. They always have things that are meant to be comforting. It shows what foods are important to the national culture.

I don't see that with the US rations.
With other countries I do though. other countries seem to put more care into their rations.

I'd say the only typical slovenian things in there are the golaž, fish spread, honey and those vitamin candies. Otherwise it's just a bunch of commercially available products, most of them likely imported.
@@tiarkrezar well that’s 4 things out of it..or is that the name of the fish spread, that’s 3. Tuna is pretty universal as is that kind of gum. It doesn’t necessarily have to be made there to be comforting to the citizens. For example, Coca Cola snd McDonald’s are comforting to millions of people around the world, but they are American…pizza too.
I cannot explain why I love these so much.. but man, the excitement I get for new ration videos is UNMATCHED 🤗🤗🤗

It's finally nice to see, what my Country's MRE Pack includes. You can get the Vitergin candies in many flavours, and is loved by young and adults. Would like to see more typical Slovenian Dishes and not only the Gulash ( fun fact: also good over fresh Fries). Strange, that the ration doesn't include Coffee, because we really do "live" of off Coffee. But very nice to see our MRE for the 1st time even as a Slovene myself. And for the Delamaris spread with tomatoes, Slovene people love it, that's why it's included, but Delamaris has a huge variety of options and flavours.
Kako si? Definantly nice! Is that Delmaris spread? I thought it was "Eekra" or eggplant relish..and where is the the" Coffetta"?😂
@@ginaloscutoff2023 Delamaris is specifically with fish, they do different fish spreads and/or even canned fish with vegetables, which is loved by the Balkans. As for the Coffee and why it wasn't included, i'm also wondering the same :D

I love your MRE videos!! I felt like this one was a bit rushed though. I think maybe because it was a lot of little video cuts and we couldn’t see the full opening of an item. It just felt like it was rushing to the next thing. Anyway, I always look forward to your videos, especially the MRE ones ❤️

When Emmy does a MRE video I find that I must have something to eat while I watch. It's just a golden rule while watching her go through the food in the ration.. otherwise I am totally hungry by the end of the video!

I love these MRE videos. You should do camping food too! I’m an avid canoe camper and often go for long trips, 12 days with no resupply. There has been an absolute revolution in the diversity and quality of camping meals in my life time. Some are good enough I actually use them at home! I had a freeze dried black bean soup for lunch just yesterday for instance. Anyway, great video, keep up the good work.

The equivalent candy to American Smarties in Canada is Rockets.
If you love those little Smarties-like Vitamins you should give 'Refreshers' a go, if you can get hold of them! They're a candy we have over here in the UK that are kind of similar to Smarties you have, but sour and fizzy! They come in fruit and citrus flavours and were my absolute favourite as a kid!
We have candy something like that here in the U.S. called Zotz. 😋

You mentioned a small packet of sundries, at 1:32. Would that have contained condiments, like salt and pepper, for the foods that might have benefited from a bit of extra seasoning? I only ask because I didn't see where you unpacked it.

Emmy, I've been sick and in the hospital for a while. We're trying to find out why am i suddenly having these seizures...its happened twice. Both times I've fallen and hit my head.i almost bit my tongue off. Now, We hired or drink anything without extreme. Thank you for being a wonderful person.

The one thing that is always missing from people tasting MREs is .. hunger. One constant in the field .. at least with many/most soldiers is that you have been up since like say 5 am .. working hard all morning and are starving. A MRE tastes MUCH better then ... hunger being the best spice.
We're lucky enough to have an enormous international market not far from our house and they sell a collection of those Slovenian pates in the small cans--they're very nice to keep in the pantry when the mood strikes.

Those vitamin candies do also come in lemon flavor, as well as orange, raspberry, and forest fruits. The energy comes from dextrose - which is a form of sugar that very quickly absorbs and gives you "energy"
this is like a far, far better and more food safe version of a Russian or Belarussian MRE with friendlier looking packaging that had a baby with a US MRE. No coffee is a fail but you could probably add some creamer to the muesli to make it richer. Whole MRE could definitely benefit from a packet of mayonnaise, too! Poke the tuna can with something sharp to drain it, and mix it with the pepper packet that comes with the utensils and the mayo packet in the can for MRE tuna salad. They even have something like that in the US MRE's, lemon pepper tuna I'm pretty sure.

Those main meals are sold in the UK in camping shops. Interesting to see them in a military ration.

Canadian here. We have those candies as well, what you know as Smarties we call Rockets. And of course our Smarties are similar to M&Ms (but better lol).
Maybe the creamer is for the tea? Some people from the UK and Europe add milk or cream to their tea.
Those bready crackers are amazing with butter and marmite/vegemite and cheese.
I wonder if you'd try any MREs from Africa. South Africa would be a good one I think
