Dude please go through into the option menu. A lot of issues you have can be fixed. There is an option for air combat that totally eliminates the camera program.
I really do love this game. But the padding is egregious. There’s legitimately a 2-3 hour stretch of the game that’s just back to back minigame hubs. Once you’re through things get back on track, but man it really killed my desire to play the game for a bit. Which sucks because when the game is just being an RPG it’s really good.
I’ve been looking for people to say this. I have a disdain for mini games after this. Literally killed my excitement everytime a new one popped up. Could’ve only had queens blood and I would’ve been happy

Same. The devs must have thought let's fill this with minigames to fill the chapters.
I'm enjoying the game, but there's some stuff I don't like:
1) Excess of minigames, which sometimes you are forced to play to advance the story
2) World exploration gets a little boring because you're asked to do the same stuff on each level.
3) Open world open paths sometimes are confusing.
What chapter are you on? For me personally the mini games after the grasslands started to get more varied and they're always fun and very different now. Also most* side content is quite different in each region, the protorelic and side missions are the bulk of it and introduce new stuff in every region
@@WickedKillaYTJust started chapter 9. Forced to go to Golden Saucer on previous mission, to do what? Yep, even more minigames... Every region you're asked to search forgot Chadley's data: towers, monster hunts, titan crystals... The same for every region. Proto relics are kinda meh... you're forced to play Fort Condor for the 2nd one, which is a total pain. And then there's that stupid card minigame everywhere I go... don't t like it and gets me frustrated when I try it.

@@renzocalcagno536 I guess it's just down to preference then, I'm just about finished at the golden saucer and while normally I don't like to do much side content I've been doing literally all of it in rebirth. I just can't agree with the actually required amount being too much given how small a percentage out of the total game length it is (again specifically the actual required side content)
The exploration is so boring, only one that has variation are combat assignments though still not that good.

The ending and the padding of this game... Just broke me. Side quests: YES. main story: ..........i feel like wasted my freaking time...... The fact the main villian just keeps running away like.... "Gah" "cloud you are getting better... Okay see you in the next game have fun with tifa"
For the most part this game is a big improvement over Remake but my biggest Rebirth beef is there are too many mini-games and they weren't being truthful when they said they'd be totally optional outside the main quest story path. I've never been a big fan of mini-games but I respect that some people do like them. I just think they went overboard in Rebirth especially forcing the new card game on you even if you try to ignore it. In one chapter the story forces you to participate in a card game tournament. Hey Square how is that optional?

You say it's it's disc two but when you go by the original it took them two full games just to finish the very first disc of the original story.
The biggest problem of Rebirth (remake trilogy) is that I cannot recommend it to people who haven't played original. Remake was good but Rebirth is way too meta and you have to know original story to understand wtf is going on.

The ending of this game barely hits the end of disc 1 of the original game .. what's funny the 3rd one will be the last two disc's which was about 15 hrs of gameplay by the time its all done so I'm trying to figure out how much they'll add to it
If you go back to the orginal the entire game assets were on each every disc.. Its the FMV video that took the most amount of data and what pushed it from 2 to 3 discs.. The 3rd disc is mainly made up off the final FMVs which were lengthy in context Without them it wouldn't of been 2 discs
I watched the original FF7 playthrough and Midgar part that was covered in remake was 5 hours. Rebirth content was about 8 hours. Leaving 8 hours for part 3. So it should be roughly the same amount of game for part 3 as part 2 (depending on if they have a million stupid minigames). Part 3 doesn't seem like it has as much story content as Rebirth would though. Just a lot of running around to do various tasks and a whole lot of cutscenes.

The FF7 universe had to be explained out in books, anime, a cellphone game, a movie (Afvent Children), etc.
The RE-FF7 games are combining the original vision into a graphically superior and more digestible form.
New game is way more fleshed out.

They did a update and it looks alot better in performance mode. Also there are plenty of games on console that run at 60fps that look amazing. So thats more of a optimization issue more then a console thing.
Been to busy enjoying every minute of the game to really care about other peoples opinions. So here i am now and To my surprise. By looking at these comments alot of people aren't enjoying the game. And im like damn!.
Even seen the game isn't selling well. Im lagit surprised ..not really.. *cuz internet* but truly I'm having none of these issues. I can understand the minigame complaint tho in ff7 defense. The og had alot of mini games too.

I see ppl moaning about the exploration and I'm not feeling the same way at all. Epically when you get to a parts where they deliberately give you a looong ass break from exploration and when you come back it feels fresh again.
You can quickly travel damn near anyplace you been and theres chocobo..am i missing somthing? Oh And it is rewarding to check things out...idk man different strokes i guess but its a shame.
We get solid content in a game and people still moan..but what els is new.
It's close enough to the original for me, now that I know what I'm in for the changes don't seem so bad anymore. Rebirth is definitly fun, albeit a little much if you try to do everything at once. Definitly enjoying Hard Mode right now, it's been pretty rough so far, but also pretty fair if you play by the rules.
The story is still a banger. But the mfin MINIGAMES are assss. The side quests felt pointless, only ran into a few had good story lines.
I would’ve also liked to see more new skills and limit breaks. Majority of the skills are the EXACT same from the first game. They only added synergies

You're right on the janky traversal. I hate that the Chocobos can't jump, at least, not in the part of the game I'm at... That shit is annoying. Your Chocobos could jump in FFXVI I don't understand why they didn't include that in this game. One of my few issues with the game so far.
It's not that bad honestly. Kinda grasping at straws just to complain about something. As I'm walking towards stuff I just press circle a few times and done. Also in the settings there is an option to make an indicator pop up.
Its pretty bad. Also no game is above criticism. They could have easilydone better.
Sad part is when you get to chapter 11 the chocobo of that region ignores all these issues, so I genuinely dont know how some of these design choices were approved in the open world in testing phase

My only gripe with the game so far is the weapon selections. Very little is offered to not satisfy my rpg needs and the way to upgrade them feels like a step back instead of forward. Since it is the second game already I don’t see this being fixed in the third game, it would honestly be too late to where I can’t enjoy it.
Less Weapon upgrades (couple slots) in exchange for the Folio sphere system.
I think Remake's weapon upgrade system was ultra confusing for most people

story is a mess and filled in padding, liking elements doesn't make it good
so much is weaker than original for the sake of "changing things up" which only works for a year and then its not unique or surprising anymore - that's the big issue with it
this game lives and dies by the nostalgia of the old and on its own is a cluster f story with no direction going places simply cause "the old did" even when they shouldn't do it anymore
liking the visual spectacle and high visuals is the bare minimum, they spent 200 million on it, of course that's good
The soundtrack is one of the best points of FF7. Some tracks Remake and Rebirth absolutely improved 1000%
Others like the Turks theme in Remake loses a bit of the thematic that the original had.
I’m stuck on the fact that all these characters can talk. 😂 They did a great job in the music and voice acting so far. The Dyne situation hit harder with the acting.
I honestly very much love the game. Its a pure videogame. Doesnt try too hard to be anything more than just fun and i appreciate that. I for one love all the insane amounts of mini games. Its just a pute joy to play and the soundtrack is so amazing.
I feel like they overdid it with the minigames. Sure, some can be fun. Sure some are skippable. If you want a fuller experience, most are not. But the thing that is the worst is that you expect a few minigames before gold saucer, then a ton at gold saucer. Having so many before gold saucer ruins the gold saucer experience to where you just want to progress the story at that point.

Boring boss fights, changing the story into nonsensical crap which shouldn't happen, cringe dialogue, horrible mini games, padding out sections of the game into mindless garbage. Your opinion is that you have a lot of fun, objectively speaking this game is like a 7.0, not a masterpiece, mid at best.

@@Jammineyeonline To me?, a perfect game doesn't really exist, i just care about having fun. I can have a lot of fun with an objectively bad game while at the same time i might not like playing an objectively good game.
2 examples, Back 4 Blood, pretty bad game, but i did manage to get over 300 hours in that game and my experience was genuinely good, i can see how bad it really is. The other, GTA5, i know it's a great game, it deserves a lot of praise, i should like games like it, but for some reason i just couldn't give crap.
FF7 Rebirth has a lot of inconsistencies, things that canonically don't make sense. A lot of things are badly implemented like boss fights taking too long yet nothing really happens. But you have a lot of fun with the game, and that's good cause that's the only thing that matters, if you have fun.

To me, this game has been what i wished for for over 2 decades.. the original has always been the greatest game i ever played. It has a special place in my memories, and rebirth elevated everything that i loved about it. So, to me, this was perfect!

Combat is not the hard part in the game. It's the minigames that lock up some good items and am weapons.

I'll never get why the age of consent matters when it comes to a fictional character.
People need to be able to differentiate between pedophilia and statutory rape. One is a preference and the other is a crime. There is nothing magical about the age 18 it's just what most modern societies feels somewhat comfortable with, if the age of consent becomes 20 in the year 2030, then does that give them the right to look at us as creepy child fuckers for thinking 18 is old enough?
Age of consent is linked to social economic needs and not so much an actual moral or biological standard.

If a people have no problem with violent murders in a work of fiction, why should they have a problem with underaged characters? You can feel uncomfortable with it, but I can also tell you how your discomfort is based on a fundamental misunderstanding of why the age of consent exist.

It ends here. Disc 1 was packeeddd with lots of good stuff, entirety of midgar and most of the open world. Disc 2 on the OG would lead to somewhere around where Rebirth ended.
It was such a great game... my complaints are all spoilers and very minor, I don't really care too much, it was okay. Just some things couldn't have been done I guess. This has to be said, I do wish the forgotten city was more explorable, not sure if it will be in part 3.
Part 3 will be interesting.. what towns re-visitable, what added, what cut out.
And I know ppl gonna want a Dirge of Cerberus remake... that game that was sucky on the PS2 apparently, I never seen much of it tbh, but yknow what, I don't think they should make a full blown game abt that, heck no.. I think it'd be perfect to make Dirge of Cerberus a DLC on Part 3... however they do the gameplay, I think it can work.
And after that, I really don't wanna see anymore on FF7... one of my fave games but anything milked to death becomes repetitive :'( They could/should remake FF8, that game is incredible, has potential, but some of the systems were experimental and not great, on a technical level, I think any FF8 fan can agree a remake changing so many things wouldn't be a bad idea.. And back to my main point, FF7 pt 1 ended so early cuz midgar itself was a metropolis sort of thing.. adding every other region I guess wasn't at the best interest to get it out sooner. The only remake after pt 3 would be to combine all 3 parts into 1 game if that's even possible.. cloud's punisher changing and stuff, maybe. But I don't see it xD they all ended so dramatic.
FF8 begins as an open world, without going to half of the world at the end of disc 1, it can probably get 2 or 3 games too. but don't think it's in their interest after 7.

I ended up replaying the final boss in the demo and then rebirth gave me the bonus
It’s in the system settings. You can’t skip the entire chapter but you can skip most of it. You can’t skip till after the opening credits.

I'm playing the game currently, and I agree. Good game, but nothing that makes it stand out as amazing per se, especially as someone who has no nostalgia for the original.

Squall is a more relatable character. A teen. Going to a military school. Falls in love. A real love story. Battles with inner thoughts and beliefs based on true life struggles. Nobody struggling with mako poisoning and mind control. 😂
There is also a story so far option on the main menu of Rebirth. So if you've played Remake qnd just need a refresh, that will definitely help.
I also agree with the camera, but you can mess with the camera settings to minimize the problem. Should've been the default, but at least you can change it
Nah, the Eikons vs Eikons in FF16, may be the best mini game in any games ever created...

As someone who's in ch.10 of the story . Rebirth is definitely more in line with why people fell love with OG FF7.
The majority of the changes from Remake that I was on the fence about were clarified or fixed in Rebirth. I'm also wrapping up Ch 10, it's been a wonderful globetrotting adventure

I came back to this video just to say that I'm interested in more FF7 rebirth videos from you. On one of your highlight videos you said that this video didn't do so well but I would still like to hear your final thoughts on the game after you beat it. I know y'all gonna get into on the GI podcast tho

one thing I didn't like about the game was the difficulty. some of the enemies in this game are straight cheap broken garbage, but the game tricks the gamer into thinking its a challenge when its actually not. this shows a lot in vr challenges and battle arena. in order to "challenge" the player, the game would throw a lot of cheap monsters at you with ridiculous rules. one good example is chadleys vr challenge "head case" where you have to win this fight in order to get the enemy skill mind blast, but the rules in order to get the skill is hot garbage.
I played in dynamic mode, but I never really had much issue on that mode because I'm a veteran rpg player and my character stats were pretty good. but in this mode you have to kill mind flayer first and omg that crap is impossible. mind flayer is a damage sponge, you'll never kill him quick enough before the smaller monsters commit suicide, or your teammates AI immediately attacks them. you can put them to sleep but they wake up pretty fast and your teammates will automatically go after them. so you're fighting against the enemies and your teammates. I had no choice but to put the game on easy mode just to get through that fight, and it was the only time I had to change the games difficulty.
Odin was another problem, most casual players won't beat odin on normal difficulty. the standards you have to meet in order to beat odin are ridiculous, if odin even touches you 3 times, he uses his ultimate attack thats instant death because odin has his own sets of rules. if you dodge or get hit too much, he will automatically end the fight, at one point he used his ultimate attack 5 seconds into the fight, total bs. another tedious challenge are the battle arena fights, the battle arena advanced fights suck. its not difficult, more so cheap. for example the zu king, the zu king freak'n sucks. that damn bird has a series of attacks that completely restrict the characters movement, like his attack where he traps you in a ring of fire and spams tornadoes at you, and I'm not joking when I say they give you the zu king at least 4-5 times in battle arena. you have to fight the zu king and at the same time other boss fight monsters that spam detrimental status effect attacks at you. like now I'm fighting the bad breath monster that can inflict every status effect at you along with the dinosaur that spams petrification breath at you, the fights suck.
and of course, theres too many mini games.
Mind flayer / Head case VR mission: Use Sleep on the enemies. Recast everytime the other two wake up. That way you can concentrate on taking out mind flayer first.
Did with maxed out party (level 70), Sleep+Magnify, Cloud-Tifa-Barret.
Marlboro No Heading mission: Unequip all healing materia. Use anti-toad accessories/crystal orb. Hit the fiend hard to pressure/stagger him. Did it with party of Cloud/Tifa/Barret at level 70.
The Archfiends 6 bout battle: Use sleep on Mindflayer/King Zu so you deal with other enemy (🔥 for Jabberwocky,
Funny thing about this is that FF7 Rebirth is literally the end of Disc 1 for the original game lol. So we still got two more discs to go XD
Disc 2 had a lot of FMV's and in terms of content smaller than disc 1, disc 3 was pretty much just the crater.

@@ebenezerstooge Fun fact, the game is actually present on all 3 discs, it's just the FMV's which differ from disc to disc. So if you glitch the game to speedrun you could get the midgar reactor explosion FMV or another early one during the part where you're talking to Sephiroth in the crater before the final fights.
FF16 is honestly better. This is more for kids, while 16 was much darker adult themed not to mention looked a million times better graphically.
i love darker theme shii, dramatic is always more realistic how things would really feel and be like sad and depressing not childish and happy
Game of Thrones Final Fantasy Devil May Cry is a dark story.
But this game deals with mind control, pts'd, human experimentation, and other dark themes too.
This game isn't an open world game... It's open zone.
You have a set number of zones you can explore that are not connected to each other.
Just because theres loading screens between zones doesn't disqualify the game from being open-world. FF7 Rebirth is open world, the witcher 3 had various zones separated by loading screens does that make the witcher 3 not an open-world? "Open-zone" is the stupidest thing I've heard this week.

The game is also open zone because all the non-combat events/mini games on the map are instanced, and not on the same map.
Not according to any credible source I can find. Open zone to me is like a game that has an open zone that you can't travel back to. Like uncharted 4 and the last of us part 2's open zone levels that have open world elements.
How are you going to call Skyrim open world by your definition if going into caves and buildings have loading screens?
