    In this video I show you how to record and produce a commercial voice over demo. I believe the voice over demo market is underserved when it comes to audio production options. This video is perfect for you if you'd like to learn what it takes to succeed in recording content for voice over, commercials, content, etc.
    Video steps include:
    1. Capture the voice over (multiple takes)
    2. Create Pro Tools project/import files
    3. Choose which vocal take to use
    4. Rough mix vocal to music (trim music and separate VO)
    5. Advanced vocal mixing (EQ, plugins, balance, stereo separation)
    6. Discussion on routing, busses, AUX, VCA’s, and why I did not use them (Keeping it simple)
    7. Master Buss explanation
    8. Adding Special FX/Sound elements
    9. Discussion on finalizing EQ/MIX/BALANCE and multiple environment listening
    10. EXTRA: Choosing the MUSIC

    I can't thank you enough for your time and effort & willingness to share this video w/us. You have proven the things I believed were necessary yrs ago, elements that even Les Paul introduced w/Mary's vocal. Thank you.

    It's so satisfying to create something that's more than the sum of the parts! Couple of thoughts - the vo seemed to get lost here and there, sidechaining the music etc against the voice is key here for me as it stops the music overpowering the vo. Not keen on adding the vocal sample as I want to highlight the client voice.
    Using mid/side eq to balance the vo vs the music helps to keep everything alive but well separated too....then a v light comp at the end just to glue it all together.

    Thanks a lot for all of the tips you're giving here! Just had a problem with one of my mixes where I couldn't get that gritty fully body in the voice and found it very helpful how you use the exciter on your second duplicate and some brilliance on your third duplicate! This technique inspired me to try it out next time ;)

    Thanks so much for this tutorial. So inspirational and full of technics for a voice over beginner who tries to reach a professional work sound quality. It a hard journey!😊 Can I ask you what microphone and maybe treatment you use at the recording. Thanks again and best regards from Toulouse France

    Why use Audition instead of recording into Pro Tools?

    • @digitalmobilityaudio
      @digitalmobilityaudio  Год назад

      Personal preference is all. I like Auditions editing features better and can work faster on vocal tracks - music etc I always work with in other DAWs like PT or Logic etc.

    Before the audio voice over was tranfered to Adobe Audition, where do you record/what app do you use to record the RAW audio? Do you directly record it from Adobe Audition? Or is there a better way which deems a better sound quality?

    • @pcaudio
      @pcaudio 3 года назад +1

      I record all my voice only audio into Adobe Audition (usually). I enjoy the single WAV file editing features in Audition better than other DAWs. Occasionally I do record voice audio into something like Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and now most recently the Universal Audio Luna DAW (great DAW btw).

      @@pcaudio, I know this is completely off topic, but I have a quick question. I noticed that in this comment you mentioned that Luna is a great DAW. I am on the fence with whether-or-not to "jump-in" at this point. Do you feel that Luna is a good alternative for VO at this point? I currently use A. Audition, but wonder if Luna would be better since the interface, plugins, and DAW are all from one place. Thanks again, -Jim
