Nowadays,in modern era, the so called literacy era, our Rajas , especially from Kerala, knew neither English nor Hindi and as for Malayalam they use words which we find it difficult to trace in dictionaries.

ആലുമ്മൂട്ടില്‍ കൊച്ചു കുഞ്ഞ് ചാന്നാര്‍ ( മുട്ടം , മാവേലിക്കര ) വ്യവസായി ആണ് കേരളത്തില്‍ ആദ്യമായി കാര്‍ (Car) വാങ്ങിയത് .( 1901/1902). കേരളത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ സമ്പന്നന്‍ ആയിരുന്നു ശ്രീ. ചാന്നാര്‍ . കേരളത്തിലെ ആദ്യ Motor Cycle ഉം അദ്ദേഹമാണ് വാങ്ങിയത്. തിരുവിതാംകൂറിലെയും , മദ്രാസ് പ്രസിഡന്‍സി യിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ നികുതി ദായകനായിരുന്നു ( Tax Payee) ശ്രീ. ആലുമ്മൂട്ടില്‍ കൊച്ചുകുഞ്ഞു ചാന്നാര്‍. അദ്ദേഹം തിരുവിതാംകൂറിലെ artillery supplier ഉം കുത്തകക്കാരനുമായിരുന്നു ( liquer supplier). ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ഭൂഉടമയായിരുന്നു . മറ്റുചില നാടുരാജ്യങ്ങളിലെയും artillery supplier ഉം ആയിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് മദ്രാസില്‍ ഒരു മേട ( ചെറിയ കൊട്ടാരം ) ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ആദ്യമായി കേരളത്തിനു പുറത്തു മേട വച്ച മലയാളീ ചാന്നാര്‍ ആണ് . കേരളത്തില്‍ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് 5 മേടകള്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹം പിന്നീട് ശ്രീ നാരായണ ഗുരുവിനും ഒരു കാര്‍ വാങ്ങിക്കൊടുത്തു . മദ്രാസിലെ മേട ഗുരുവിനു നല്കി. SNDP യോഗത്തിന്‍റെ വൈസ്- പ്രസിഡന്‍റ് ആയിരുന്നു ശ്രീ . കൊച്ചുകുഞ്ഞു ചാന്നാര്‍ . മുട്ടത്ത് മുസ്ലിങ്ങളുടെ അഭ്യര്‍ഥന പ്രകാരം ഭൂമിയും ദാനമായി നല്കി ഒരു മുസ്ലിം പള്ളി നിര്‍മ്മിച്ചുകൊടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട് ചാന്നാര്‍. അദ്ദേഹം ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികളെയും ദളിതരേയും കൂടി സഹായിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട് . ശ്രീ.ശുഭാനന്ദ ഗുരുവിനെ ( പാപ്പന്‍ കുട്ടി -) കണ്ടെത്തി ശ്രീ. നാരായണ ഗുരുവിന്റ്റെ കൈകളില്‍ ഏല്‍പ്പിക്കുന്നത് ശ്രീ. ചാന്നാര്‍ ആയിരുന്നു.
ഒരിക്കല്‍ ശ്രീമൂലം തിരുനാള്‍ രാജാവു പറഞ്ഞു '' ഈ രാജ്യത്തു നമ്മെപ്പോലെയുള്ള ആളായിരുന്നു ചാന്നാര്‍ '' എന്ന്. നമ്മെയും രാജ്യത്തെയും തീറ്റിപ്പോറ്റുന്നത് ചാന്നാരാണെണെന്നും രാജാവു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ട്. . കാരണം രാജ്യത്തിന്‍റെ 37% - 40% tax ആലുമ്മൂട്ടില്‍ തറവാട്ടില്‍ നിന്നുമായിരുന്നു അടച്ചിരുന്നത് .തിരുവിതാംകൂര്‍ രാജ്യം ബ്രിട്ടീഷുകാര്‍ക്ക് കൊടുക്കേണ്ട കപ്പമായ 12000 പവന്‍ , ചാന്നാരുടെ സഹോദരൻ ശേഖരന്‍ ചാന്നാര്‍ , നായര്‍ പട്ടാളത്തിന്റെ അകമ്പടിയോടുകൂടി നേരിട്ടു മദ്രാസില്‍ കൊണ്ടടയ്ക്കുകയായിരുന്നു പതിവ്.
കൊട്ടാരത്തില്‍, ഖജനാവില്‍ പണത്തിന് കുറവുവന്നാല്‍ ആലുമ്മൂട്ടില്‍ നിന്നു കടം എടുക്കുമായിരുന്നു . രത്നങ്ങള്‍ പതിച്ച ഒരു സ്വര്‍ണവടി, പിറന്നാള്‍ സമ്മാനമായി രാജാവിന് ചാന്നാര്‍ നല്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. കേരളത്തിലെ രാജ കുടുംബങ്ങളെക്കാള്‍ സ്വത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്ന കുടുംബമായിരുന്നു ആലുമ്മൂട്ടില്‍ ( കോമലീഴത്ത്) കുടുംബം. ഇവരുടെ പൂര്‍വികര്‍, ഒന്നാട്ടുകാര രാജാവിന്‍റെ കാലത്ത് നാടുവാഴികളും , ഓടനാട് (ഒന്നാട്ടുകാര) രാജാവിന്‍റെ പടനായകന്മാരും ആയിരുന്നു. തിരുവിതാംകൂറില്‍ എട്ടുവീട്ടില്‍ പിള്ളമാര്‍ എങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നോ , അങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നു , ഓണാട്ടുകരയില്‍ ചാന്നാന്മാര് . നാടുവാഴികളും വ്യവസായികളുമായിരുന്നു ചാന്നാന്മാര് . (കോമലേഴത്ത്, ആലുമ്മൂട്ടില്‍, തിരുവിക്കല്‍ , വാരണപ്പള്ളില്‍ , മാടമ്പില്‍ , മങ്ങാട്ട്, കല്ലിശ്ശേരില്‍, വലിയകോട്ട് , വല്ലഭശ്ശേരില്‍ , വലിയകൂട്ടിക്കല്‍, ആറ്റുപുറത്ത്, കളീക്കല്‍, കോച്ചുകളീക്കല്‍, കുളമുള്ളതില്‍, കോട്ടയത്ത് വീട് ( മാന്നാര്‍), ചെമ്പകപ്പള്ളില്‍ , ചീരപ്പഞ്ചിറ , മാലൂര്‍, അയത്തില്‍ തുടങ്ങിയ ചാന്നാര്‍ കുടുംബങ്ങള്‍ ) 1600 വര്‍ഷത്തിനുമേല്‍ പാരമ്പര്യമുള്ള , അരിയിട്ടുവാഴ്ച്ച ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന കുടുംബമാണിത് . പണ്ട്തിരുവിതാംകൂര്‍ രാജാവിനെ , മുന്‍കൂര്‍ അനുവാദമില്ലാതെ മൂന്നുപേര്‍ക്കു മാത്രമേ കാണുവാന്‍ അനുവാദം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളൂ , അമ്മ മഹാറാണിക്കും, ദിവാനും പിന്നെ ആലുമ്മൂട്ടില്‍ ചാന്നാന്മാർക്കും !
ഏതോ മുതിർന്ന നേതാവിനെ പോലെ ആധികാരികമായ സംസാരം - വിദ്യാസമ്പന്ന

What she said is absolutely true. All those new generation cars are not made to last for a longer period .The business principle is clear that they tempt us to change it in very few years. Else can anyone imagine a Range Rover loosing their reliability after 5 years😅, but the fact is most of the cars are not really reliable nowadays despite few Japanese Manufacturers.
