Hey guys! Can you believe PSO is 20?! I'm still blown away by it and will remember the impact it had on me for the rest of my life. Thanks for watching. We're having a nice chat about the game over on the My Retro Life Discord server. Here's your invite to join: discord.gg/haPfNGWm5K Hope y'all enjoyed the video. PSO forever!
Wondering if you are currently experiencing PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 on XBOX SERIES X/S or on XBOX ONE X at least? I’ve been hearing how much gamers are enjoying it running on XBOX SERIES X (simply stunning according to gamers out there) Great video, keep up the great work and Happy Gaming Everyone!
Me and my friends played the hell out of pso. I had good memories I still have my dreamcast and play it now and then. Worst memories was when a random player would be in your team and you died and he stole all your stuff.
Found my Dreamcast stored in my closest and Phantasy Star Online was still packed in there. Plugged in my Dreamcast and botted up PSO. My original character I made as still there. Last played was 2001!!! So long ago!!! I want to play this online again!!!!
PSO was definitely the Dreamcast game that I spent the most time with. At the time I was dating my wife, and we both got into it so much we ended up buying 2 Dreamcasts. I also had to add another phone line to the house ( I had recently graduated college ). Man we spent so many hours and had so many friends playing with us. 2 TVs , 2 Dreamcasts , keyboards all side by side with my wife. Hell yes! A bygone era of that new feeling of online gaming with friends you knew in real life as well as strangers across the globe. Oh, and I still have my strategy guide as well haha. Oh and we also had the longest phone cords wrapped through the house . I totally relate . Kids these days have no idea what it is to experience that. Did anyone ever get the broadband adapter? I wanted one later, but never jumped in .
I switched to broadband with the GameCube release. Thanks for the great comment BTW! Incredible how memories form with these old games and experiences... I’m fascinated by it all
I got the broadband adapter! I was 19 at the time, but I didn't have a credit or debit card. So on a visit home, I talked my dad into ordering it from Sega's website, and I could tell he was skittish about it! Online shopping was not common then. That was the first online purchase I/my family ever made.
There is an amazing game that had a bad memory attached to it, Mega Man 2. my grandpa died on Nov, 30 2018, I was 12, and it was very devastating seeing his body on his deathbed, I was heartbroken by my family's reaction that I wanted to do something fun to keep it away. me and my cousins played pillow fight, then later that night, I turned on my NES classic. and played mega man 2, I loved going through each robot's stage, even though I never finished Dr. Wily's stage, it was another world to enter in such a bad moment in my life. and then I went to my mom's apartment, and me and my brother and cousin, we three were very close, and we played Just Dance 2017 and had fun.
I worked at Gamestop from 2004-2010 and I remember this strategy guide always being in our backroom during the early days because our manager was obsessed with this game.
I got pso the day of release, and I spent thousands of hours on it, pso was my escape from reality 21yrs ago, I really miss the soundtrack and the great adventures and friends I made on that game so long ago! I wish Sega would do a remake of pso. and now today I'm 40yrs old, married and two kids later and I still think about this masterpiece of a game still.
Great video, I have the exact same sentiment towards PSO. I can remember the 1st time I saw it over at my buddies house just a few days after launch and how he let me create a character on one of his spare VMUs. I went home and not only begged my mother for PSO but I begged her for a Dreamcast, she sacrificed a lot to get me that Dreamcast just a few days later and I'm forever grateful for all she did as a single mother to make my brother and I happy. PSO is special for many reasons and I'm glad to still play it from time to time on the private servers out there.
It’s insane, I am from Australia and I literally had an identical experience with the game as you. Even down to the one friend at school who also had it. We would obsess over it. The soundtrack for me brings back so many feels, memories and emotions. I can’t believe there is no HD re release of this.
I love PSO. I have a heavily modded Gamecube with the GCLoader, Insurrection cables, and pair it with my 20L5 to fire it up every so often. It was and still is a fantastic game. The atmosphere is incredible, and you can still immerse yourself in it even today.
Hell yeah. One of the greatest games ever in my opinion. The good ol dial up days. The struggle was real. Me and my cousins spent hours upon hours playing this game. Great memories. I still remember picking it up at funcoland before it was GameStop. This game definitely was an escape for me growing up when times were tough.
I never realized how much this game meant to you. We definitely need to play it together now. So many amazing memories for you with this one! Love the video! Great job, my love! 😘
The videos on this channel start out focused on cool retro games and amazing old footage but then kinda tap into something deeper - more than just nostalgia.
I loved this game when I had it on the original Xbox. This game also got me addicted to RPG online. Love watching your videos , they bring me such good memories
I play Blue Burst online. I love this game so much. Had a dreamcast when I was young sadly never had this game but the Dreamcast itself is magical to me.
I've never beaten a Phantasy Star game, I know it's a pretty beloved series of games. That's cool though the beginning days of playing online with a console, now that's a common thing
This was me when Phantasy Star Online came out on the Dreamcast. I bought it the for Sonic Adventure 2 demo but I did use to play the classic series on Sega Genesis. This game made me not wanna go outside and play lol made alot of friends and met in real life cause of this game and Phantasy Star Universe. It was like a real life .Hack Sign
Amazing video ! I'm from France and I remembered that I played with USA & Japanese gamers and it was so incredible for me at the time ( I think I was 11/12 years old ) ! Thanks for the good memories !
I was born too late to properly experience this game, was only a baby at the time, but going by stories, and achieve recording from the time, I can see the impact it had and I know I would have enjoyed it if I was born earlier, its sad knowing that eventually, severs for games will shut down at some point and with some, render them entirely unplayable, well done on the video
Aww buddy I wish we could go in a time machine now, and let you experience how amazing it was, great time to be alive!! And even stop by 1994 to show you and the other generation that you missed out amazing times, and show you SEGA Channel for the sega genesis which was Xbox live before Xbox live
what you say about the title screen...only those who played at the time can understand the feeling. The Sonic team effect...I totally understand what you mean, I miss this Sega touch today
Sounds like we're the same age. PSO was my jam back in the day, I played the crap out of it, still have my old copy+save. I had a few people I'd play local coop with and several peeps from gamefaqs that I was friends with from my time with Armored Core that I'd play online with. I even still have the DC keyboard specifically for playing this. I remember my dad wouldn't give me the login details for the dialup internet, so I did what any self respecting teen would do: got a ~20 page list of free ISPs that I used. When one went down, I'd cross it off and go to the next one. Many a late night on weekends & during the summer spent grinding out with my buddies. Pretty sure I got all the stuff worth having in V1 for my HUmar. Never got into V2 on dc because Hunter's License. Now PSO v1/2 for GC? That was pretty much the same story but turned up to 11. Got the GC bba specifically to play it. Loved that I could have more than one character, had even more friends for local coop this time. About the same amount of internet friends. I had my fair share of my own super rare loot drops, but this time around we took full advantage of the dupe method among our group of different loot tables (what was that called again? The color you were assigned based on the characters in your name?). One of us would be the party leader to use that table, we'd hunt the rare, eventually get the drop, make a dupe for everyone. One of our group also braved the greater online presence for trading to fill in gaps we had in our drop coverage. Think I had just about everything worth having for each of my 4 different characters that way, I think I'd still be grinding it out if I tried to do it all myself. I had two characters up to the lvl 150-160 range and 2 in the 120-140 range but I never did have the patience to grind for 200...
This game had such a great community. I was able to use this game to keep in touch with friends as we scattered apart for college. I remember guilds forming, Masters of the game, and how broken the hunters were. Then the Game cube version came and things just got better. PSO will always hold a special place in my heart.
Remember how when you "graduated" to a new difficulty level, your entire team would congratulate you when you could FINALLY take a hit from an enemy without getting smacked right off you feet?😂
It makes me feel good to see someone else who feels the same love and nostalgia for this game that I have. This game, the online experience, the friends you made, and even the soundtrack truly sucked you into a different world. Just thinking about it takes me back to what the world was like 20 years ago. I spent so many hours and many late nights enjoying the PSO world. Easily one of my favorite gaming experiences of all time.
I met many friends in Phantasy Star online when it released for the Dreamcast. It was a really magical experience, especially the first night I played the game, I will never forget it. The ending music, the memories, chatting with my friends until really late in the night... and I still play with two of them. The Dreamcast was truly especial.
I really find it fascinating how you shared your PSO memory of checking up to your New York friends during 9/11. Since last year during the pandemic I constantly check on all my online gaming friends who live in different countries around the world. It's amazing to think that video games really do connect people together
Such a great game 😊 I just played an 8 hour session with someone from Norway we beat episode 1. He even started as a new character. Had a blast felt like 2002 again
I can’t imagine that phantasy star online is 20 years old. A friend of mine who I call him my brother he got me that game for my birthday I played online before non stop I’m trying to come back to playing that game
I played this as well. Felt so futuristic. It had Awesome stylization. When the DC was retired i continued my play on GC. And not to mention 56K, such an amazing piece of SEGA history. Wish SEGA would re-release this with online just as plain and simple as the original.
The sounds bring me back...along with your description. I would play until the wee hours of the AM....mom telling me to go to sleep. An absolute gem of a game. One of my favorites of all time.
PSO Dreamcast remains my all time favourite game of all time. Graphics, gameplay, sound effects and music are outstanding... miss this game immensely! Solid review thanks so much!
I love to hear how you felt about this game, the Dreamcast had some amazing experiences, nothing like before, such as Shenmue, but going online was like no gaming experience I have ever had. It was so immersive, so much so my parents were not happy when they saw the phone bill.
I was in 7th grade when PSO came out and didn't realize at first you could play the game online; I never had any experience with online games before, at least with consoles. Everything about PSO was amazing.
I just gotta say thank you for putting this video on here ! Brings back pure memories about playing with my two brothers when I was younger. Loved this game and still play it from time to time. Such a great sega game!
I personally never played much Phantasy Star but I love seeing people speak pasionatly about the series. And now I wait for GTV Japan to comment and see what he has to say.
Still own my copies today. I even own the original Xbox versions. Never played a game series more. Great videos brother. Brings back so many memories. Dreamcast was my most favorite Sega system ever. Thanks for the videos.
I used to eat all my dinners in front of the Dreamcast keyboard playing it. I made so many friends and played so much. My maxed-out Racast was so strong I used melee weapons and was very good with them. had a lot of good memories when it came out, 2001 was a very bad year for me personally, but that game....holy cow. It truly got me through a horrible period. If you ever played with "Sheogorath", a white RAcast, that was me. I played for a few years. Well over 2K hours. Wonder what Bferul78 is up to now...
I wish I could talk to some my friends from PSO. I had so many great memories from that game. Your story and the way you talked about the game honestly took me back to that time in my life. Thank you for that!
The music alone is bringing back criminal levels of nostalgia. I also remember my first double saber drop, almost created a family feud over who got to use it. My little brother wasn't fully satisfied until the dragon dropped the blue double sabers and I "let" him keep those
I really enjoyed the game but was somewhat underwhelmed since i had jumped onto MMO's with EverQuest Online Adventures and it was absolutely massive without loading, something like 14 races and 12 classes, so this felt more like an online co-op game but i definitely enjoyed my time with it. I get in really late with Xbox and the game shut down a few months later. Definitely brought it's own charm and unique style though, i still listen to the OST. Incredible.
it's amazing how different this video is from the one HappyConsoleGamer did, it's almost like you talk about different game, your story has so many layers, cool!
Wow, No word of lie your history of this game sounds exactly like mine, I was 13 when this came out and I also had only 1 friend that played with me online from school and it was such a great time and feeling back then so CHEERS! I really hope you're currently playing PSO2 My Retro Life!
Loved the game, connecting to the internet via the modem and using the keyboard and controller. Sank so many hours into that game. I am definitely considering the more modern solutions for getting online with the Dreamcast to play this game again! Great video!
Man I miss this game. This game was my all time favorite. I made some really cool online friends and the memories will never be forgotten. I wish i still had my original game and serial numbers to play my old characters
My real life best friends and I played PSO together almost every night after release. Eventually they moved onto playing Everquest and we all stopped playing. The double saber was truly mind blowing! This game came along during a dark time in my life so it was a great escape. Other MMOs never really captured my interest at all.
I loved PSO... I still do. I must've logged about 100 hours using a free dial-up connection (ntl:world - I had to remember to excuse myself for needing to disconnect and reconnect for the two-hour cutoff), with fellow Wireplay gamers. Getting a Durandal on my first online game was amazing... until I lost it a few months later thanks to a black screen of death. I remember we even went onto a Japanese server once, playable despite the 300 ping. I don't remember why I stopped playing online, possibly too much HL:CS, but I did occasionally play solo, which is nice but really doesn't have the same experience, and I must say that I've never had more fun in online gaming or a better sense of community than with PSO. I did finally buy ver. 2 a year or so back, just so I could take my second character through solo and actually attempt Ultimate difficulty... which I haven't done yet, but it's available. I actually managed to fix my long-time defective VGA adaptor recently, so I get an excellent picture whilst I do it. Even so, I've not converted my first character over to ver. 2 - it's irreversible, and besides which, I'm happy enough with my HUnewearl - I don't really need to go back to a HUmar, do I? The only downside to PSO was how the data was laid out on the disc - I don't know if any other game thrashes the GD-ROM drive as much as this one does, and ver. 2 was no better... so my poor drive may eventually die. :|
I agree 100% with you about PSO! It was so dope when it came out. I never actually owned a Sega Dreamcast. I played it a lot when I hung out with my friend which was pretty much every day lol. I miss this game so much too. Also we used to play Skies of Arcadia religiously too. I miss the excitement of signing online, the music, etc. I’ve never really played any of the new PSO games so I’m not sure how they compare to the Dreamcast. Overall those were some good times & I’ll always remember them!
Wow really great personal retrospect on PSO, can’t believe it’s been 20 years now. This game changed video games for me as well and stands as one of my all-time favorites. Definitely my favorite JRPG. Something about it’s anime, fantasy, cyberpunk style both in aesthetic and extremely memorable music had a charm that has left a lasting impact on me and those close to me that played this game as well.
WOW!! Yet another amazing story. What a unique experience for you and the others in your group that night. Bringing real world events into such an early online world good stuff.
I had much the same experience with this game once it was ported to the Gamecube. Something so therapeutic about grinding through the level picking up new goodies. Online just further boosted that feeling sharing raids with others. Easily one of my favorite games of all time.
Oof! My gameeee. The hunt for rares. Leveling up. Boss fights. So, so good. I too remember running my cord from the kitchen to my brother's room and my mom coming in during the late summer nights to tell me I needed to go to sleep. Probably the game I've had the most fun with. Thank you!
I love watching your videos they remind me of my own video game memories I never played phantasy star online it looks cool I just got a dreamcast again i picked up shenmu and sonic adventure i might get phantasy star online too
I hope more people find your channel, i'm whatching the "my retro life" series and it's awesome to see your life growing up with videogames. Btw, your dad was awesome
Incredible video! I played on DC back in the day, I had a high level Hunter named Odin. I am trying to setup a DreamPI to try and relive some of these memories you speak of.
I remember 9/11 here in the UK as I was working for a games company at the time and everyone was shocked. It must have been sometime in the afternoon when word started to go around that there was a terrorist attack in New York. I was working on a GameBoy Advance game at the time called The Ripping Friends.
I’m in California, I remember my parents were out of town and I was already planning on skipping school. I just remember getting annoyed that all the channels were covering the news and just putting on Star Wars return of the Jedi on vhs 😆. Also I believe I only had the ps1 at that time my next game system was the ps2 and remember getting gta 3 as my first game. I got a gameboy advanced later on when the sp came out.
EQOA and PSO, pioneers in online console gaming. PSO being the first online JRPG and EQOA being the first MMORPG. Both offered unique and different experiences. A great time to be a gamer, it was really exciting just chatting with people back then. That alone was addictive, add a game to it with tons of things to collect and strive towards and it's pure gamer crack 🤣 PSO has private servers now, EQOA has one but it's just a early work in progress for now. These are two gems of gaming history that people are working to preserve for future generations!
Great video. I was a UK based player from the 1st day of the games release on Dreamcast. I sank 1000's of hours into v1 and v2. My character name was DJ DUBZ=GUK
Massive cables were essential back then! I had to do the same with my dreamcast and you couldn't use the phone while it was connected and this was before mobiles were really a thing! God damn dreamcast what a console
My friend was super addicted to this game. So much so that he rarely left the house or even ate for that matter. He lost weight from playing it so much and jokingly called it the PSO diet LOL. I didn't have a DC at the time and I was kind of jealous that he could experience this new territory with other groups of people online while I was stuck at home playing regular old Playstation. I didn't experience online console gaming until the PS2 which I do have fond memories of but nothing compared to my friend's experience with PSO. Some private servers are still up but most people play the GC or PC version now. Another great video as always Tyler!
I have a ton of memories of this game. The Spread Needle spam, the rare drop farming, the level grinding. The guild I was a member of, Gods Among Men lol. The early internet drama that was an education that serves me well to this day. I also remember the surreal atmosphere the night of 9/11, and one of my friends was from NY and was completely out of sorts. I'll never forget that. I remember upgrading to Version 2, and how sad it was when everyone moved on to the GameCube version or to other games. I met one of my best friends to this day on there. We had gamesharks, and had codes that would allow us to bypass the censorship of naughty words, so we would amaze people in the public lobbies with that lol. But there were entire guilds of trolls in this game, usually with DragonBall Z or Fight Club inspired names, who would try to freeze your screen by using GameShark codes to cast the light spell outside of gameplay areas. So anti-FSOD codes were the main reason we used GameSharks at the time. Also, there was a significant female player base of this game, and many of them were older than me, like in their 20's. I was 18-19, and let me tell you, this was basically a dating app lol
I lost so many hours to this game! I was 22/23 years old at the time. I still have my copy, as well as version 2.0 upgrade for it to this day. I then moved on to the XBox version, PSO Ep. 1&2!
So many incredible memories of PSO... all the friends I made, all the adventures and misadventures I had during college and beyond playing this game on every console imaginable. Even today I still play it offline on GameCube with my wife every now and then cause it's still great today! I know I still need to play PSO2 but I'm still a bit afraid of the big shoes it had to fill from this game. Awesome video as always, Tyler! Funny how we were probably playing online at the same time yet never crossed paths with each other.
Love reading everybody’s experience with the game! I would watch a buddy of mine play PSO and it was just this novel idea that he was interacting with a real person online. The only other online game I had watched him play before that was Quake. The Cable Guy prophecy of playing Mortal Kombat with a friend in Vietnam had finally been realized! 😂
I found this gem and picked it up it's a great game and the soundtrack is lovely I just need to connect this online and get that feeling of playing Dreamcast online
@@Gameboy-Unboxings easiest way is to use the original gamecube brodband adapter. You simply need to change the server ip in the settings and you'll be online in no time
Friends I met while playing PSO online are friends I still have today, twenty years later. No game will ever top that, and I can't believe I bought it for that Sonic Adventure 2 demo!..
Sorry I forgot to leave this comment last year, but after watching your Gamecube launch video I had to say this... I really loved playing PSO back in 2001, I remember buying a keyboard adapter and the 4-in-1 VMU to play this game properly. As much I enjoy leveling up my Hunter in offline mode it was even more fun playing online with others. After the events of 9/11 though I started a new game just to see and hear the intro again. I wished that I really was on the Pioneer 2 far away from the terrible things happening on Earth. But if there's one thing I've learn since then, it's to keep striving for a better life for everyone in both video games and the real world.
World of Warcraft was my first MMORPG. It was also my first online sensation. That you could just play with sooo many people online was amazing back in the day in 2004, 2005.
I put hundreds of hours into this on Dreamcast too. Had the same guide book. I'd goto work, come on, play PSO for 10 hours straight then go back to work 😂 I was a HuCast named Meshuggah. Usually played on the ship called Titania. It's wild to think 20 some years ago there's a solid chance we crossed paths and probably slayed some baddies together. The game holds the test the time too. I still play PSO to this day on one of the private servers. Now I play PSO with my wife and 9 year old daughter.
I just got into the private servers myself. EQOA was my main console MMORPG back in the day, but i got into PSO on Xbox a few months before the servers were shut down. Had a lot of fun and got everything completed in time. Wish i had kept my console now that it's back lol.

My spouse and I met on PSO ver.2 19 years ago, and we are still together today. So needless to say that it's an extremely special game to me!

I've never beaten a Phantasy Star game, I know it's a pretty beloved series of games. That's cool though the beginning days of playing online with a console, now that's a common thing
I always come back to this game every 1 to 3 years ill never forget it.
Same. We still play on some servers.
PSO Baby, this game was so good! Remember the special Sega event where you could get Knuckles fist as a weapon?
This was me when Phantasy Star Online came out on the Dreamcast. I bought it the for Sonic Adventure 2 demo but I did use to play the classic series on Sega Genesis. This game made me not wanna go outside and play lol made alot of friends and met in real life cause of this game and Phantasy Star Universe. It was like a real life .Hack Sign
Amazing video ! I'm from France and I remembered that I played with USA & Japanese gamers and it was so incredible for me at the time ( I think I was 11/12 years old ) ! Thanks for the good memories !
I used to play with a French man named "Umaro" and still remember the great times we had ^^
The music still gives me goosebumps!
Have you played any private servers? The game is still super active but yeah its def a different vibe experiencing it in 2000
Aww buddy I wish we could go in a time machine now, and let you experience how amazing it was, great time to be alive!! And even stop by 1994 to show you and the other generation that you missed out amazing times, and show you SEGA Channel for the sega genesis which was Xbox live before Xbox live
I was too late for it too, but I was right on time for PSU and fucking loved it
what you say about the title screen...only those who played at the time can understand the feeling. The Sonic team effect...I totally understand what you mean, I miss this Sega touch today
Got to be a Top 5 title screen for me!
Dreamcast always looked fantastic in terms of textures and even better with HDMI
The amount of time I spent on PSO back in the day, chances are we played together at some point.
so nostalgic for me, I watched this vid twice in a row.
This game had such a great community. I was able to use this game to keep in touch with friends as we scattered apart for college. I remember guilds forming, Masters of the game, and how broken the hunters were. Then the Game cube version came and things just got better. PSO will always hold a special place in my heart.
Beautiful memories ❤️
Remember how when you "graduated" to a new difficulty level, your entire team would congratulate you when you could FINALLY take a hit from an enemy without getting smacked right off you feet?😂
@@allenharper2928 Man those were the days.
I still lay to this day! lovely game. and the soundtrack is just amazing. it never gets old.
Same bro
It makes me feel good to see someone else who feels the same love and nostalgia for this game that I have. This game, the online experience, the friends you made, and even the soundtrack truly sucked you into a different world. Just thinking about it takes me back to what the world was like 20 years ago. I spent so many hours and many late nights enjoying the PSO world. Easily one of my favorite gaming experiences of all time.
Wow Tyler I would like to see some more memories of The games you have for the Sega Dreamcast
Absolutely! I’m feeling highly nostalgic for Dreamcast lately
So true man! Glad you enjoyed the video
Such a great game 😊 I just played an 8 hour session with someone from Norway we beat episode 1. He even started as a new character. Had a blast felt like 2002 again
I’ve never played this but it looks fun. Aw man I remember having a super long cord through the house for playing halo online.
That would be incredible and I’ve wanted Sega to do that for years
There is not enough love for this game and for the Phantasy Star series as a whole!!!! Thanks for making this video :D
Truly my pleasure making it
I spent and STILL spend hours playing this game. My number 1 seed.
I had a serious addiction to this game. I was up until 4am every night. The music brings back some amazing memories. I still have my DC keyboard.
I love to hear how you felt about this game, the Dreamcast had some amazing experiences, nothing like before, such as Shenmue, but going online was like no gaming experience I have ever had. It was so immersive, so much so my parents were not happy when they saw the phone bill.
Appreciate the comment, Chris! Glad you enjoyed the video and look back on this amazing game
Sega added such a spice to video games back in the day. They took so many risks and that was fun for us.
Phantasy Star Online still has a robust single player experience. Highly recommend jumping into that world!
This game is still one of my favorite games. The menu music still sounds greats
The music alone is bringing back criminal levels of nostalgia. I also remember my first double saber drop, almost created a family feud over who got to use it. My little brother wasn't fully satisfied until the dragon dropped the blue double sabers and I "let" him keep those
I just want you to know that I love all your content/uploads. It brings
me back to those wonderful days of childhood video games addiction.
56k Modem all day. Unplug the phone plug the cord into the dreamcast with sega net and boot up Phantasy Star Online. Ooh the memories...
Dreamcast PSO was my jumping in point for the series too. Nothing has been as magical and nothing will ever compare. much love!
Totally agree! Something about this game being your first MMO back in those days... it was MAGICAL! Thanks for watching
Loved the game, connecting to the internet via the modem and using the keyboard and controller. Sank so many hours into that game. I am definitely considering the more modern solutions for getting online with the Dreamcast to play this game again! Great video!
Thanks Joe! Man this game ❤️
Man I miss this game. This game was my all time favorite. I made some really cool online friends and the memories will never be forgotten. I wish i still had my original game and serial numbers to play my old characters
My Brother Loved this game and Played everyday for years. He got a early beta in 1999. R.I.P Brother 😇
I'm sorry for your loss. 🙏
@@michaeloffgrid Thank you very kindly I am truly gracious 🙏 ❤
The old game store footage is absolutely incredible - You gotta post more!
My real life best friends and I played PSO together almost every night after release. Eventually they moved onto playing Everquest and we all stopped playing. The double saber was truly mind blowing! This game came along during a dark time in my life so it was a great escape. Other MMOs never really captured my interest at all.
So amazing how this game was there for a lot of us... thanks for commenting man!
Man, my dad used to yell at me when the phone bill came in... This game was a revolution for console.
I actually just set this game up on my Wii and played it for the first time since 2003 at my cousins house lol.
I had much the same experience with this game once it was ported to the Gamecube. Something so therapeutic about grinding through the level picking up new goodies. Online just further boosted that feeling sharing raids with others. Easily one of my favorite games of all time.
Such emotional video! I love it. It's amazing how much a videogame can make you feel
My favorite part is the BGM and sound EFFECTS
Oof!
I appreciate that! Thanks man. It's growing every day. Thankful for viewers like you who watch and comment. More to come
Incredible video! I played on DC back in the day, I had a high level Hunter named Odin.
I am trying to setup a DreamPI to try and relive some of these memories you speak of.
yes! seriously love this channel!
That alone was addictive, add a game to it with tons of things to collect and strive towards and it's pure gamer crack 🤣
PSO has private servers now, EQOA has one but it's just a early work in progress for now.
God damn dreamcast what a console
omg we need more of these retro footage !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome video, and it has me hooking up the Dreamcast to play PSO again!!!
Love seeing your videos....we are a similar age and i also grew up in the houston area....really brings me back man...really enjoy your vids
Thanks Shaun! H-Town represent!
@@MyRetroLife yessir!
I have fond memories of this game and nothing else after really compared to this experience; Nightwalkers and ktminion88 forever!!!
Thanks man! Yeah I wonder if we ever did cross paths. What was your character name? Mine was Harrier
Just signed on the gamecube version online in a long time.. and man it's popping with players!! Amazing
I’m trying to do the same through a soft modded Wii but having no luck with my ISP
How do you do this?
I'd goto work, come on, play PSO for 10 hours straight then go back to work 😂
I was a HuCast named Meshuggah.
