Idea: Underground subway system. You load up at one settlement and unload at the other. Accessed by building a subway entrance. Takes a shit ton of resources, but each station can be used as a mini settlement with like 5 settlers.

A couple of great settlement mods are "Settler Sleep AI Fixes - Bed Sharing - Auto Bed Search - Assignment Priority - Huge Bed Collection" and "SnapBeds - Usable Bunk Beds - Mix and Match Beds"

These modders just made the settlement building more immersive and entertaining for me, thanks.
This just gave me a great idea... Due to limitations within the game engine, vehicles have yet to be properly implemented. Well, what about trains? Imagine if you set up rails and stations for your trains, then you could use them to transport goods people. It wouldnt have any traction issues as long as the rail is properly set up (with gravel getting rid of uneven terrain issues) and scripting it to simply drive from point a to point b would be a breeze. It would be controlled from a terminal inside the train, where you simply select destination (station) . You would be able to use pre-placed static containers and actually sit inside the train (as long as you’re sitting, or in some other form “locked” to the train, otherwise the engine would take a dump) . Not only an immersive alternative to fast travel in survival mode, you could now transport considerable amounts of goods between your settlements, and setup hyper efficient supply lines. Considering how there are things like sentry bots, i don’t see how this wouldn’t be feasable.
Can't believe I haven't seen any of your videos yet. Your attention to detail and the clarity of the information you deliver is the best I've seen so far from anyone showcasing anything. I feel more familiar with mods I've just installed after seeing your video than with mods I've been messing around for a week.
I'd download Symbiotic Settlements just for the batteries and solar panels... no lights on in broad daylight, why it never occurred to Beth is beyond me.
I'd also download Thematic and Practical, for the trader parts, though would prefer just that portion.

All the time, i'm thinking...what would be, if games like "Age of Empires" or "Anno...." or Sim City have such a feature like "Settlement Building" from a "normally used as a roleplay game" like Fallout 4. I don't know, but wouldn't this take those game to their next level? At least, when you think about it...this "small" feature in Fallout 4 is big enough to become a standalone game. It's huge and has big potential.

This is one reason I like FO4. I love to build in this game. I have alot of cool settlements that I'm pretty proud of and I hope to show them off one day. I need mods.
The Symbiotic Settlement mod looks great but I'm over installing mods (like buildings/equipment) that require more mods, particularly when the extra one is a completely different type of mod (a quest) that may affect my game.

Its a settlement to the south-west of here named Abernaty Farm, they're having trouble with some feral ghouls. I recommend alot of Rad protecting armour and chems.
The BOS tiles will look great in my current playthrough, I've been toying with the idea of making my settlements some kind of Initiate training camps and barracks.
Thematic and Practical...VERY NICE! I'm not real pleased with any buildings that I can't fix, patch, or replace the rotted or broken parts. If I have to live out there in the waste lands, MY dwellings better be leak proof and wind proof to reduce the amount of radiation exposure. So with that in mind, I only wish there were some options for the amount wall and roof repair or lack of that the builder feels they want to live in. Also, remember that what ever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. Feel better soon.
Symbiotic looks amazing. I have never used it, as Eisenwolf's mod required a lot of rigamarole just to have a new framework. I might actually get around to using it after watching this.
oh Symbiotic Settlements looks fun, and their style does make it look like someone study the pre-war buildings then built some out of post-war resources (like those bricks) and the macgyvering of a working bathroom and sewage is something i really been wanting.
That why i loved Thematic & Practical, the macgyvering of scavenge items into "new" ones.

I know your super busy and already have a huge list but have you considered doing a video on the Talon Company Mercs from Fallout 3 and looking into if they have any ties to the Gunners? This has been something I have wondered since I first played the game and your Gunner videos reminded me of it. I know your busy and this is just a thought, enjoy.

Oxhorn, please review some of the fan-made add-on kits to Sim Settlements! Honestly, I don't know why we don't see more machinima using FO4. You can built so many sets, clean and modern, apocalyptic, war zone, etc. You should start learning make machinima Oxhorn!

The BoS pods are reused from The Prydwen, excellent for a BoS remnant build where the prydwen was destroyed and the survivors scrapped the airship and built a small city to rebuild the BoS and as a safe haven for those whom were out on patrol when the prydwen was attacked.
The thing I LOVE about oxhorns mod muster is THERE ALL LORE FRIENDLY!!!! :3 :D
Thematic and Practical is absolutely awesome. Thanks for showing that mod here. Sadly the current version of that mod is not fully functional regards the Caravan's shops. But there are good news of things to come - the mod author posted in Nexus at 12th September 2018: "There is a bug with any caravaner that have a built-in idleMarker in the vanilla game in the current version. It's fixed on the WIP i'm working on." I reckon it's best to remove placed Caravaner's AI objects for the time being and wait for the updated version.
First mod is fancy. Cool. Really cool.
From what I've seen in the vanilla game the Thematic & Practical BOS tab items are original but do have similarities to the Prydwen and it's interior textures specifically the floors. But all the same it all looks good.

I use Thematic and practical for a while now. Its really one of the MUST HAVE Mods out there.
I will give the other shown mods a chance... I always wanted Brick Houses....
And yes a Boxcar Home would be great too. I use the vanilla boxcars to place generators in it to defend them getting destroyed by raiders etc.

Apparently you need schematics to build the text scanner in the Eisenwolf quest? Did you have to find those too? I have the Almanac but can't craft the text scanner yet...
ARD follow the map marker down south more. should be a building thats all destroyed. behind a book return thingy in said building to the right should be another note.
I haven't been playing fallout long, but enjoying the dlc's. I saw a mod on your channel the other day which had a battery power that only turns on at night. Not sure if anyone else has thought of this.... But here goes. Attach a reactor and the night battery to a logic gate and boom! A whole building that only lights at night with minimal power clutter.
It's one of the few things that annoys me is that your lights are on 24/7 in settlements.
Hey ox, the roofs you are talking about (like the ones found in downtown Boston) are available in the "snap and build" settlement mod. It also comes with A HEAP of really cool structures with fantastic skins and textures! Something I'd check out if I where you!

I'd absolutely love to see a HL2 combine tileset, i'd be ALMOST fitting, cos the combine always get interested whenever teleportation tech is being experimented with, but i also thing that the jarring aesthetic would be rather pleasing.
Cool, with the Boxcar one could possible build New Appleloosa from Fallout Equestria. Was a town built around a major rail hub.

I'd love to see a video on some mods that improve Vault Tec Workshop. That DLC was so half-assed with its content, but it's such a good concept. I want to find some mods that add the huge number of missing parts and functions, but I just don't have the time to scour the Nexus to try and find something, especially since lots of mod authors like to give their mods either vague or irrelevant titles.
Looks like I'm off to updating my thematic and practical installation. I love that mod so much!

I want an Xbox 1 mod , that changes the Vault-Tec Pieces into SCP walls. Here's some ideas if your a good mod creator:
-Changes the Domestic Pieces into "Entrance Zone" Pieces.
-Changes Utility Pieces into "Light Containment Zone" Pieces.
-Changes Atrium Pieces into the Cafeteria.
+Adds "Heavy Containment Zone Pieces." When placing, It sounds like placing Concrete Pieces.
+Adds Various Known SCP Containment chambers: 173, 049, and Various Object SCP's.
+Adds SCP Gates, and Gate Ground. (Gate A and B together, and the ground to finish.)
+Adds SCP-294 (Gives free 100 Settlement Food.)
-Changes Armory Pieces into... Well... Armory Pieces.
-Changes (Workshop) Terminal into SCP-079.
-Changes Wide Hall pieces to Gate A interior, and Gate B interior pieces. Interiact with (elevator) doors that lead to desired gate, to enter Gate A or B.
+Adds Security Department armor and Helmet.
+Adds Scientist coat.
+Adds Class-D Jumpsuit.
+Adds a Crowbar (For Nine Tailed Fox)
*Don't worry about adding P90s. There's already a mod out there for that.
*For fun, Add a Painting with a picture of The B8_C. He's known for playing SCP-Containment Breach.

You are a great builder. Is it possible for there to be a mod that changes the way a settlement is built? Like, install a mod that sets up Sanctuary in a specific way that you could do yourself (including with other mods).

Magnus Andersen yes. I've that for some set decorations. I've reorganized my mods, and doing a a new play through. I want a settlement of each type: gen 1 synth, robots, ghoul, super mutants, humans. (I got mods that do that). Don't really know what to do with the raider set for the most part

These are cool. I like the first one because I use multiple mods currently for things this one does all in one. Like solar panels and harvesting glowing fungus but also the bathroom is neat and shopkeepers is neat for Vault 88. Speaking of, anyone else think of the Third mod the Boxcar and Train would be cool to add to Vault 88? Going out of order the second mod is cool for Traders if nothing else. I'd like to organize where they go as well. I'll probably use that canopy though or the dynamic one you showed with True Storms.

The reason I love these type of mods is because they do look out of place compared to the rest of the wasteland, all the settlement items have there own unique look compared to the normal things you see in the rest of the game and that's why I don't like the mods that just let you build the buildings in downtown Boston or the sanctuary houses because they'll always look just a little bit different and that's what I love about the settlements, they have their own charm, anyway thanks for reading this if you even do.

A good way to implement it would be to make so tracks could be placed anywhere but still required power, so it'd mean having to build a nice network between settlements, but then on-top of that being able to build your own personal roaming home, death-train, or for you Oxhorn, a Snowpiercer
you should check out the snappy house kit mod. I like to mess around with the high tech set in it and the red rocket set

Oxhorn, that problem you had placing the stairs, I've noticed it with vanilla assets as well. I think it's a Bethesda bug. Requires the same solution: place door frame, then stairs, then door.

But every time I see a new Mod Muster I find myself having to go through my list of mods...
