How much do you think you made with this jar. I think you paid way too much. Goodwill isnt going to put anything of great value in these jars. They know whats good and what isnt.
Thanks for watching- the video- I’ve lost count of my profit margin, however remember value is subjective and is determined by niche markets. I urge you to browse eBay SOLD listings to see what I mean.
@@ThelmaThriftjust came across your video, your voice is amazing so sweet.
I have to say I've been spending a lot of time down in Ann arbor at the U of M university hospital. In their main hallway back towards the elevator/ escalators there is a display of art shadow boxes filled with lovely collages (im dyslexic so excuse the spelling errors)
Of costume jewelry from all ages/eras. I have a cookie tin filled with odds and ends of costume jewelry from passed away family that I've been thinking of maybe designing and making one of my own.
Some are abstract and some are themed and some are deconstructed amd turned into animals/butterflies you name it.
I've always been partial to koi and water lilies or lotus.
Against deep blue felt, it might turn out cute.
There is always a way to turn a profit from things if you don't mind putting in a bit of effort.
I bought few rolls of coins from an older lady who needed paper money (the store was giving her grief about counting change)
The roll of quarters had 2 silver quarters in it and the roll of dimes had several silver dimes.
But the 4 rolls of pennies were full of wheat pennies and even 3 Indian head pennies.
You never know when you might find treasures. I kind of expect to find washers and slugs in the quarter roll lol.
Thank you!@@claudettemcleod6316
I just started watching but you don’t tell us the value? I don’t see the point in finishing it then
I bought a $10 junk Jewellry once and inside was a gold watch! I cashed it in of course 😁
How fabulous ❤️💎❤️
I'm a guy and I actually just bought 25 pounds. I love jewelry and thought I'd take a chance. Beautiful Jar.
Thank you. Have fun. I hope you find some fantastic jewelry.
So much fun to see through a great jar after all this time. I had to watch without interruption it was so mesmerising. Now it’s late and I still have to wash the dishes. Once again………..thanks Thelma 😘😊🇳🇿
Awe thanks so much. I appreciate your viewership.
I just came across your channel- very enjoyable. Some of these comments really show the lousy quality of people out there, literally just miserable. You really handle those comments with grace. I think you are great- thank you for sharing your time and bringing us with you on the hunt for treasure 😊
Thank you very much!
I absolutely love your channel!! Mesmerizing. I have been a lover of allll things jewelry since I arrived on this planet lol, and I am so living vicariously through you ❤❤❤🤗🤗🤗👑
Thank you so much!
925 is supposed to be Stirling. Be careful though there are a ton of counterfeit
Love watching jewelry jars opening, but that's one expensive jar.👍🤗💞
It really is!
Nice video!
I recently bought a big misc jewelry bag for $20, and it contained a vintage Corki Weeks kaleidoscope necklace which I'll be able to resell for at least $200!
Wow! Congratulations.
Omgosh I'm watching from Australia and that beach glass bracelet is absolutely so cool 😎
Thank you.
The bracelet with "tigers" is an imitation of Cartier panthers.
Thank you for the information.
i did this regularly at my local goodwills. about 7-10 years ago… literally every week i would buy 3-6. for an average of $25-40 and almost every time you got decent real gold rings, coins, and maid a few hundred on each. it slowly slowed down over the years people caught on. jar prices went up, and they started taking a closer look at what went into them. nowadays it’s a tru gamble but this used to by extremely profitable
Yes, indeed and they used to be 20 to 30 dollars as well. Moreover they are becoming quite elusive.
@@rosemaryadamson5176 Really! That's not the Goodwill I know and have worked with. They do incredible work for many individuals. I respect them greatly.
@rosemaryadamson5176 I love goodwill! I just paid $30 for 5# Mystery box I got 2 10k bracelets 1 white gold with diamonds small ones but diamonds the 2nd yellow gold. total weight 18 gr. 10k @ $24.75 and that's just gold value! I LOVE GW❤
They rip off
They only after
Wow awesome jar! I think you got your money’s worth and more, great pieces. Thank you for opening the jars/bags, really enjoy the treasure hunt 😊!
Thanks so much.
The 925 Silver Bypass Bracelet is Avon and is a set with a drop necklace and earrings. I used to have a set. Beautiful piece.
Thanks so much for the information.
Okay 👌🏼 my grandma was an Avon collector as well and I remember that. I thought I recognized it as possibly a local handmade piece.
Hello Thelma, I just wanted to say I stumbled upon your videos only a couple of days ago and I’ve been watching them almost continuously. Even while I’m cooking I have you on my phone. I absolutely love what you do and I adore you already. I’m from Melbourne Australia and I will continue to watch you that’s for sure. So grateful you have made so many videos and I have so much to catch up on. Many blessings to you. Gigi xx
Wow, thank you
i love your user name ! my moms name is Thelma. i lost her to cancer in 2014. she absolutely loved to go thrifting. i sure do miss her and i know she's looking down watching your video with me. 😊
Awe May she rest in peace. Thanks so much for the kind words.
I bought a box 163 pieces of antique and vintage jewelry from the son of a woman who had quite the collection. She had died 20 years prior to me buying it and he had stored her things before organizing and selling. I paid $300 and ended up selling pieces for over $3000 profit. I still have some of the pieces I couldn't bear to part with!
Other pieces I wish I had kept but I needed the money and having an allergy to nickel, I cannot wear most of it. A good rule of thumb for parting with awesome pieces is to remind yourself that you're not married to them.
Exactly- what a wonderful experience that must have been. All the best to you. Thank You for watching and sharing your insight. ❤️💎♥️
So many beautiful pieces. What a great jar
Stay safe Thelma hugs
Thank you! You too!
That was an amazing jewelry jar. Lots of sterling
diamonds and James Avery also beautiful pearls
It doesn't get better than
that . Loved watching take
care Thelma.
Thanks ❤
Hi Ms.Thelma I love when you find James Avery.your truly blessed with Luck when it comes to Avery pieces in jars..stay blessed 🙏🏼 always Pamela
Thank you!
The diamond ring you found is a Heng Ngai (HN) 925 Sterling with diamonds. The company makes lots of sterling with diamonds. they also use Gold.
Glad you found great pieces most jars have junk tarnished and broken pieces. 😮 GW takes the most expensive for the website to sell online.
Thanks for watching
You mentioned you wished the sterling silver ring on your finger would look silver again. I wear SS on almost all my fingers. Lol If you get hot water, about 1\4C, line a small dish, cup, bowl, whatever you have, with aluminum foil, shiny shiny side up, add 1-2Tblsp vinegar, tsp baking soda, stir... Set your ring in it. You will literally see it shine up. For small grooves can use soft tooth brush. Rinse and towel dry. :) This works on all my jewelry, even gold. But if you have stones, look up the type of stone you have before using this method. There are a handful that can't be introduced to vinegar.
Thanks so much for the information ❤️💎❤️
Thank you for sharing this with us I'm going to keep this recipe for my jewelry.
This was a wonderful Jar full of surprises !!👸 way to go !!! Looking forward to seeing the other jars as well , wow what a score 😇
Thanks 😊
Lot of beautiful jewelry BINGO JAR 💍💎🗝💥Great Finds ♥️🥰
Thank you! 🤗
THIS IS A FANTASTIC JAR!!!!!
Congratulations Thelma!❤
Thank you so much!
Please stop saying they are real pearls. They are obviously not.
@@VeronicaLaVache you did not examine, feel, and scrape them - THEY ARE REAL - they may be cultured. However they are real pearls.
I would love the yellow multi-stran necklace.,if l can afford it HOW do l get it ?? 30:35
What was fabulous about it. Fake, costume jewelry. Yuck!
I remember when these jewelry jars used to sell for $5.99, $6.99, and $7.99 at Goodwill. I couldn’t imagine spending $150.00 and not getting more precious metals… I’m glad that you are excited though… I would have been really upset, LOL, especially since things aren’t selling as well right now. I would definitely stick with the pawn shops, as I have control over what I want. ❤
I hear ya, I only remember them as low as $25.00 I left two behind this week, because they want $140.00 and it looked like half of it was hair accessories. thanks for watching the channel.
Great vocabulary of jewelry terms to learn from you. Thank you for helping my eBay ads sound pro.
Happy to help! Thanks for watching ♥️
It was very nice to see a jewelry jar. Thank you Thelma
Glad you liked it! Thanks ♥️
Wow that’s a lot of money! I’m feeling blessed now. I was complaining about getting my jewelry jars for $40. For $150 you shouldn’t have anything broken. I also never shop at Goodwill because of there high prices on everything and they don’t do much if anything for the community🤨
Good luck with your jars! I support the Goodwill because as an educator of the multiply impaired, and special needs population; I see first hand what the Industry does for our community.
Sundance is high end
Loved the jar!! You got some great stuff!!!
Thanks so much ♥️
That was so much fun to watch, I love wading through jewelry, the last lot I got I literally ended up with over 100 designer necklaces and bracelets, I'm having a really hard time finding who they are what they are worth etc, but I'm learning as I go which is a bonus, it's really hard finding a jewelers mark that is a symbol rather than letters, will definitely be watching the next video!!! 😊😊😊
That is awesome!
This is my first video of yours I'm watching. I really enjoyed the jar and your positive attitude about each piece, thank you so much for sharing! :)
Thank you so much for watching ♥️
Hi, I just found your channel yesterday. Love it and your style of "unboxing" of items, and your personality! Gonna binge watch some more. You have some fantastic finds :)

I agree, I just found you too. Looking forward to watching more videos!
Thank you so much!@@kathleensmith7990
A Splendid Jewelry Jar❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. GREAT VIDEO AND GREAT CONTENT. THUMBS-UP ALWAYS!!!!
Thanks 😊
The necklace you thought was mother of pearl is from a conch shell. ( pronounced "conk") Mother of pearl comes from the iridescent lining inside of three types of mollusks. Pearl oysters, freshwater mussels, and abalone.
Thank you so much.
Wow..my grandmother was a Thelma lived to be 104😉
Oh wow! I love that.
8:49 That is the right card for those Dillard's goldtone earrings. It is the post only that is sterling and the card says that.
Thanks for the info.
HI Thelma!!! I really like that multi strand wood or clay necklace in the southwest turquoise blue shades. That would look great over a peach or black top. I know I would wear it if I had it.
I agree it’s a great piece.
Very nice. I just bought 2 diamond bracelets for 3 bucks iam happy girl. One tennis.
Keep looking
How wonderful
Love the rings and earings. FANTASTIC jar........

Awesome! Thank you!
That big crystal ring is great 🥰🥰
I think so too!
I haven’t seen it all but I see turquoise necklace that looks exactly like one my mother has .
Thanks for watching.
I can’t help but envy that incredible alexandrite ring of yours 😍
Thanks- that was a lucky eBay score. I love it.
It’s very nice but I thought alexandrite was green.
@@suelilley4729 indeed-Alex. changes colors from green to red to purple. Mine is a man made Alex. and changes from bloody red to lavender to purple. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
You got so lucky..very beautiful items in that jar, well worth the buy. ❤
I think so too! Thank you for watching.
It doesn't seem like you look for makers marks. Part of why I watch is to get familiar with makers style to help me know what to look for when thrifting. I don't know if I worded that correctly but you get it I'm sure.♥️😁
I do Look for them. I’ll make it clear next time. Thanks for the feedback.
Also I guess when you put have it up close in your hand you can probably tell right off when something isn't worth it
Great idea! (Removing a link.)💡!
Thanks
Lovely finds, the jar was definitely worth 150! Our Goodwill here has so much junk 😫!
I agree, thanks so much for watching.
The green rhinestone necklace is beautiful!!!
Thank you.
Wow, very pretty jewelry jar 🤎
Thank you! 🤗
I love the lavendar pearl bracelet ! What a great jar !
Thank you! 🤗
I like that one, too!
I think my favorites were the lavender & coral colored pearl bracelets; that big, crystal-like ring; the leopard or lion clasp bracelet; and the silver necklace with gold barrel-like pieces on it.
Thanks so much for sharing your favorites.
Thanks thelma i loved that jar. K❤
So glad!
What a wonderful jar!! Sp many goodies 😍
Thank you!
Wow! What a fantastic jar. There was so many amazing pieces in it. I have a few favorites I'll email you about the prices.
Thanks for sharing
Looking forward to the next ones. 😀
Take Care and Stay Safe
Thanks ♥️
I got a turquoise bracelet for 3dollars and took it to a crystal shop and it has turned out to be real
How exciting.
Hi Thelma, hi every nice person. I fixed one of my rings that was missing a stone with nail polish. You really can't tell and there are so many colors to find one that matches.
I’ve done that too- did it with a big eyed owl- poked out the other eye and now he has glittery red eyes. ♥️♥️♥️
So beautiful jewelry jar.
Thank you so much 😊
I taught special kids I bet yours love the jewelry. Wish I had thought of that as rewards. They do love rewards. It works. My son uses it at home with two very intelligent over active twin boys.
That is awesome!
I bought 2 five dollar junk jewelry medium ziplock size bag from a small mom and pop thrift store and found vintage 925 and 14k pins. ❤❤❤
Thats awesome
4:42 my gosh that piece is beautiful ‼️

Your presentation is very professional. All the figurines in background sets the Mood!

That piece or brochure would make a beautiful hair accessories
Indeed.
It was so fun watching you
Great find

One day, I was walking through my...oooh sparkly! Lol
Wonderful. Thanks for sharing
Broken ,cracked things always bugged me too, until I seen a documentary on Wabi Sabi, and also the Broken Mary Project,a journey of hope,I even have a beautiful Broken Mary I bought on purpose cuz it was broken, yet still so beautiful.
Oh wow! I’m watching that soon. I can’t tell you how many beautiful items I’ve left behind because of my disdain - bordering on phobia. The genesis of my contention is a story for another day.
@@ThelmaThrift,The Wabi Sabi is,in Japan broken objects are often repaired with gold, the flaw is seen as a unique piece of the objects history, which adds to its beauty, they say, consider this when you feel broken.
@@ThelmaThrift Charles Stanley said 2Corinthians 3:5 Inadequacy is an opportunity to experience the sufficiency of God.
Hi 👋 Thelma you got some treasures out of the jar 🫙 well done 👍

love that gold bracelet with the 2 leopards
Me too.
That thumb ring is nice.
Thanks 🌸
Love that leopard bracelet. Already have a couple of the snake rings. Thank you for sharing your content. Just came across your podcast. So I don't know if you will get this comment?
Thank you so much for watching and checking out the podcast.
The leopard bangle could possibly be J Crew valued about $75
Thanks so much for the information
Hi, I would love to do a jar someday. My mother and I bought the jewelry from the estate of an extreme collecter, estimation of 20,000 pieces of jewelry, and cat fingerings just under 2,000 of those over 500 baskets. It is so much fun to look through it all. In your video, You asked about a stretchy thing. It is a decorative way to push your sweeter up and away from your hand to a 3/4 fit.
That is awesome!
Fun to watch. I think if you replaced the fabric on your necklace display to black it would show your jewlery better. Just a thought :)
I may try a black leather display as the velvet washes everything out. Thanks for watching.
Fantastic jar!!
Thank you! 😊
Wow Thelma you did great on this Jewelry Jar, you got alot of Silver Jewelry, some gold, and a diamond ring, and some beautiful designer Jewelry and Vintage also.
I think you made your money back, congratulations on this Jewelry Jar. ❤❤
Thanks ♥️

Alexanderite is my favorite stone!!! My husband just got me a 1ct certified Russian alexandrite ring. Ive got alot of both lab created, brizlian and not 2 russian peices❤ great video
How beautiful that Russian specimen must be. Thanks for watching.
Great jar! 🫙 of jewelry! But your origination of good, or fun 🤩 is driving me crazy 🤪
@@SheilaLepape thanks for sharing ❤️
Hi Thelma the jwbr bracelet is Jane Seymour collection from Kay jewelers and a nice find .
Oh thank you!
I paid 125 for a jar...once it was literally so full of completed junk I took it back the next day, just to see if they would talk to me about it, nope, literally they just told me sorry, which I somewhat expected but I had to try. Literally everything was broken or had no match, I got nothing out of the jar 😂, nothing 😭
And i do mean junk, was a small jar too, may half the size of yours , actually prob less than half the size of yours lol
Yes! That’s really awful. I’ve told them when I see them again and remind them to write junk or craft on those. It’s terrible to do those at that price!
Why I don't buy jars from our local Goodwill, whomever is over checking the jewelry, puts an expensive price on silver, gold, and sells them individually with the nicer jewelry. Jars are just what you mentioned, junk.
I got a bag like that at valuelillage it should have bin labeled craft bag not jewellery
Oh well at least the money went to goodwill. But yep mostly costume jewelry
It's old might even be 18 carrot gold that necklace you're talking about with all the numbers cause. I had a necklace like that too and it was 18 Carrot gold. It was from Italy. And they used to put serial numbers instead of 18 14. A jeweler told me that I was shocked mine was 18 carrots gold.
Wow, thank you so much for the information. I appreciate it. Thanks for watching my channel.
Enjoyed myself very much ty
Thanks so much
Love the beach bracelet ❤
Thank
Good morning Thelma I always enjoyed watching your video
Thank You 😊
This is really a great video! Thanks for the extra hints! Is the "strange" pendant with the blue/red circle around the nut still available?

Brooches are not a thing of the past.
I do not see any more people wearing brooches.
I wear them.
I do too - unfortunately many don’t appreciate them as much as they once did.
Some people may wear them but Brooches are DEF Retro!
Really enjoyed your jar unpacking. Ironically, I had my little paws on a large Goodwill sack offered at 149 just last week. I just couldn't pull the trigger, but over the last couple days I am regretting not making the purchase. I love your jar. I was wondering about the large 925-it might be an upper arm cuff.
Thank you so much. Yes it could possibly be an arm cuff. I love arm cuffs after watching Downton Abbey. ♥️
Sundance is a brand founded by Robert Redford. Nice find!
Thank you!
I found your channel today & just love it. Great jar of jewlery! Looking forward to your next video. ❤❤
Yay! Thank you!
Actually, in Britain, we have those earring with the tiny pearl and the larger pearl. I bought a pair in a shop, but they were meant to be worn in a quirky way with the large pearl at the back and the small pearl in the front. I dont wear them like that, though, as they looked ridiculous!
I rather like them worn that way- on people with short hair, but we all have our taste ♥️
Great jar for you 😊♥️
It really is!
The first earrings are a Dior design. The big pearl goes BEHIND the earlobe and the little one in front.
Thanks for the information ♥️
Hi Thelma I asked this question of my jewler friend his answer is below (What does 925 NH mean?)
he said it is :925 stands for Sterling Silver which most of us know already, and HN stands for Heng Ngai who is a jewelry maker and designer in Hong Kong. He obtained a patent in 2014 to use the image you see on your bracelet as his brand.
Thank you for the information.
The earings you show at 54.52 look like JC Penny. So much fun to watch you!!
Thanks so much for the information and for watching.
