I love it when Vicki engages Jeff and brings him out of "silent camera guy mode"
Truly the comforting content we need right now
1:49 "It's a bit windy". At least it wasn't "really windy"!
Way too short as normal.
Brilliant as normal.
😁
A glorious summer day in England!
Hi Vicki, hi Geoff! Greetings from Canada. I just wanted to let you both know that our 11-month-old daughter (Arlo) will only take daytime naps if she falls asleep to an All The Stations videos.
We started showing her your videos because she showed a very early affection for trains, especially commuter trains. Now she gets excited whenever she hears your voices. She especially loves Vicki explores, and wants to watch your castle videos over and over.
Most adorably, she gets especially excited whenever Vicki gets excited over a Pacer. Don't have the heart to break the news to her yet.
I’ve missed Vicki Explores. It’s been a long time Vicki. And the castles as well. Kent is such a lovely county. And I didn’t know you can drive a car.
Yay for Vicki!!
On my doorstep! Did you know that Richborough Port was the site of the UK’s first train ferry, shipping locomotives out to France in WW1? It had quite an extensive railway system there.
Ahhh, takes me back to primary school - our school trips each summer were Richborough, Deal and Dover castles and then Port Lympne zoo.
0:22 you left your coffee cup on the rear window 😂
This brings back memories of 'holiday' as a child. It's got everything, 'holiday weather', lots of fun activities for kids, bragging value for my friends, great food...
The only things missing are climbing a massive hill to get there and rain!
Yes awesome your back brilliant vid x
Hello you! Glad to see you out and about again!
A day with Vicki in it always becomes better.
Very glad to see a new video from you!
Yay, great to see a new vlog!
Nice to see you out exploring again, great video.
Love your historical journeys, Vicki. Thanks for this.
Thank you for this amazing video, Vicki. Your videos are a source of escapism and sanity during this awful time.
Hurray, Vicki's back. Love it, love it, love it!
That was brilliant. So amazing there in Britain that things can be 2000 years old and here in Canada 150 is old. Show more please
Great to see you out and about Vicki!! x
Just delightful
Did you pass up the opportunity to say "It's really windy!" when visiting the Amphitheatre site?
Welcome back Vicki. Keep making the videos please. Very uplifting
Yeah! Vicki's back out and about.
Excellent quality video as per usual. Well done.
Fantastic British summer...
Welcome back Vicki ive missed your explore videos. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Really excellent thanks!
Really interesting. Now on my "must visit" list!
Vicki's back..! Yaayyyy...!
What a great place. Portchester castle has some similar Roman walls, but quite a bit smaller. Inspired me to see more places - thank you!
Looks like a fascinating place! When I hear of Richborough I usually think of where the East Kent Railway used to run to and the power station they demolished a few years ago!
Wonderful to have a Vicki Explores, always wish they were longer. Hope The North Face are giving you a big sponsorship cheque!😉🙂
Thanks Vicki for the exploration of Richborough. Hope to see many more explorations in the future. Stewart Dorrell
With all that history and only being a couple of hours away, why am I only learning of Richborough now!?
Partly my fault sure, but man we need to teach our kids more about our Roman past.
Kuma Toni - Next video at 500k subs cheque out Time Team (UK) archeology excavations here on YT. Some 200 episodes and many covers Roman excavations. Fantastic series.
We are taught about Julius Caesar's 'invasion' in 55BC. That turns out to have been more of a reconnaissance in strength. He arrived a couple more times in the following years, but a true invasion didn't happen until AD43. It was Claudius who really got the job done, and that was when Richborough was developed as the main port of entry.
Hi Vicki, you seem to be a teacher, a very nice teacher!
The scale of these Roman Ruins is awe inspiring!
Glad to see your lovely self again dear... hello to you both..
Yes!! Haven't seen Vicki in a long time, was wondering what has happened to her! Glad she is still exploring! And next time, when I visit London, maybe I can make that one of my day trips. Thanks Vicki and I hope you keep exploring! We miss ya!
If you’ve booked a visit that day, you just have to put up with the wind. Quite the troupers!
Great video
Glad to see Mr Victoria Pipe doing camera work!
What a coincidence, I was there today. It was on the route of a walk that my friend and I did today from Sandwich. We also walked near the amphitheatre site.
More !!
I've heard of Richborough but knew nothing of the history. This was an interesting taste of what's there.👌👍😁
We live not far from here and it’s a great place for picnics and exploring. East Kent has some cracking English Heritage sites.
Lovely to see you back Vicki :) Might I recommend Ribchester near Clitheroe to you. It is nowhere near as grand but is where they sent regiments for some proper R & R and has a wonderful atmosphere as if the Romans never left. The tiny museum is great and there is a granary and a bath house.
LOVE Vicki's earrings!!
I hope you had a look around Sandwich while you were there, it's a beautiful place.
Wow that’s quite a top and spotted the Mi Band 4.
It's always windy there and Reculver!
You've done one bit there I've never done - even though I've visited Richborough several times, I've never been to the amphitheatre!
Vicki: Fourth of July
USA: *Independence Day intensifies*
The return of Vicki Explores? Yes please! Interesting site, never heard of this place
We need Vicki Explores... Sandal Castle.
I've seen Geoff sitting in a car next to a Jay, I can handle my own thank you very much, Miss Pipe
Had no idea this existed. Not the greatest weather but interesting nonetheless.
Vicki is so sweet! 😆
Go to explore Halifax they have Eureka, the beacon and Piece Hall
Love the explore. Would you come to Nottingham Castle. Or Gedling country park. It is on a old coal mind
The roman road from London to Wroxeter is now the A5/M54.
Hi vici I grew up and lived in the house on the Fort for 9 years
Vicki can drive?!
Nice Vid, even if a little short!
Interesting video, thanks. Surprised you didn't mention the Wantsum Channel which Richborough Fort guarded at is southern end (Reculver stood at the northern entrance). The channel, before it silted up, made the Isle of Thanet and was an important short cut for shipping from the south to enter the Thames Estuary.
Need to visit Horden Station
Thanks for the video Vicki, still a grand and very interesting place. Is there a museum of finds from the site?🤔 😎🐓🐓🇬🇧
Nice aperitif, when do we get the main and dessert?
Could have done another 15mins on this vid easily, very interesting.
I always thought the Romans came across East Anglia via the North Sea. Always thought the Normans came via Kent route.
Beautiful smile by the way 😊
I had to watch this. I named my starship the USS Rutupiae in Star Trek Online
Loving all your videos. So entertaining, informative and highly enjoyable. Your voice captivates the viewer. Keep 'em coming they're fab!!
Slightly disappointed this wasn't about the military port but still very interesting!
The Romans built it next to the railway so that they could jump on the Eurostar an visit home at the weekend.
Too short but thank you 😊
Vicki needs to present documentaries so she can give more details. I do enjoy these videos though.
4:14 So Crayford was on the main road into London? My mum's family ran a pub there back in the day. It's been boarded up for about 20 years
Which pub was that?
@@oysterfarescentral The Jolly Farmers on the road heading into London - near Crayford but not in the town centre. Bronzeshield Crane Hire have a depot behind it
@@Drdee1 Ah yes, I forgot about that one. Thanks.
So the Romans landed and thought, "ah, the wind can't be too bad..."
Poor Geoff thought he was getting a real tea...
Delight.
Great video fellow Hufflepuff !!!
Must renew my membership
Aargh! Everyone's driving on the wrong side of the road!!!! Yes, let's please banish COVID so I can visit these places Vicki is tempting me to visit.
great video Vicki where is that dodgy geezer you are normally with. regards Paul
OMG this is like 10 minutes from my house!!
Vicky Could try doing All the Castles, (preferably By Train)
I'm curious about the map shown after 4:00. How old is it? Of course, in Roman times Watling Street passed through Verulamium - the town/city of St Albans, on the hill alongside Verulamium, was created quite a while afterwards - but, more puzzling, I saw that Berkhamsted was spelled "Berkhampsted" on the map: I didn't know there was that older, different spelling of the town, which made me wonder how old the map was.
Vicky are you a Bristolian? Lovely interesting video.
I think you'll find Vicki's from Kings Lynn; she's mentioned it quite often.
Disappointed Vicki didn’t tell us how windy it was 😀
Do you watch time team by chance?
Pity about the wind!
Best coliseum is in nimes in the south of France 🇫🇷
The tube 2002 trying to break records
So when are you doing crossragule abbey?
"All the (car parking pay) stations"
When will you and Geoff go do all the stations in other country’s (besides the UK and Ireland) after the virus is over?
I doubt as most countries have too much stations it would take years.
@@YorksLancsTransportHub Hmmm. Some of the smaller countries would be do-able but I don't know how interested Geoff and Vicky would be. That would involve some 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔 research, a lot of work and a fair bit of cash.
Be good to see though.👍
While Vicki is exploring in the UK, we are celebrating Independence Day in the United States.
2:54 Further to your point, sugar was discovered by the Western European people in the 11th Century as a result of the Crusades. But surely there were other forms of sweetener available then?
Honey
Hermesetas?😁
How are there comments from one month ago when the video was only uploaded a couple minutes ago
I dont get it what has patreon got to do with this?
@@hi24x maybe they get videos before normal people idrk
Yeah Pateron users get it before us normal people do.
Stephen Chaplin ah ok thanks
Skeptikalz thanks
5:31 you locked Geoff in.
Ye got the 600th like whoop
I wish these were 30 minutes long
